Oh, I'm so pleased! It's so difficult/frustrating trying to find info sometimes...you never know what might help. I can "google" way faster than I can register this stuff in my head. There's a Draper's Corner Cemetery in Compton, Quebec that has a Sarah Draper, if you end up looking for a Sarah. It's on Interment.net also.
Best of luck on your gathering!

Hi
I have no relation (that I know at this point) but wanted to relay that there is info on Interment.net for you. You may already have it. It is the South Sweet Cemetery, Sutton Junction, Brome County, Quebec. Has a list of Drapers including a Sherman Draper (b. 1868-1930) and Ella Sweet Draper.
I'm just starting my search so I don't have much yet. Is your grandmother related to John, ALvah, or Sherman?? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Unfortunately, Donna, this is not our Aaron. The son of Josiah and Sarah Ellis was b. 29 Nov 1764, d. 8 Jul 1818, marr. Amelia Sweet on 25 Oct 1791. This Aaron graduated from Brown University in 1790, and had 5 children: Henry S., Mary A., Jonathan G., Edward, and Mary A. (the 2nd).

This is documented on pp. 78 & 93 of The Drapers in America, by Thomas Waln-Morgan Draper (1892)

I am trying to find the history of my Great Great Grandmother, Louisa Draper. I have a couple different surnames that give me direction but, there seems to be some discrepencies.

Some records have her as Louisa Curtiss born approximately 1940. She married my GG Grandfather Alfred Draper. But, she is buried as Louisa Draper Hodges in Hannibal, Owswego, New York. There also seems to be some tie to the surname Lake.

Does anyone have any history on the Louisa?

this is great, I have used the"Mormon Drapers" book for my research for so long that it is pretty worn out. My great grandmother was Eliza Jane Draper, Daughter of William Draper and Mary Ann Manhard. I do so hope that the researchers will take advantage of these links and hopefully they can correct their misconception that Thomas Draper married to Lydia Rogers was born in Groton, Connecticut, even the birth date is incorrect. Also it needs to be research very well that Lydia Rogers is not the daughter of David Rogers, that she was born in Dutchess Co., NY, and this is where Thomas and she were married. I am currently researching Little Nine Partners, in Dutchess Co. for this data.

Elizabeth Draper & Leonidas Hamblen had among their children, Thomas & Robert. I descend from Thomas, who moved from Rogersville, TN to the McLean County, IL (going off my memory about 1903). My father was sent a picture of the Robert Hamblen / Hamblin family by one of his granddaughter's.

I was given a photo of a newspaper clipping featuring a picture of Eliza Lipe. I can't authenticate the caption, but I believe you will find it interesting. I have believed all this time that it is the original caption, but I could be mistaken.

I have researched information on Leonidas, which includes some of what happened to him during the civil war.

I have found some records (Thanks to Jim) regarding some "boarders?" with her name but a few different last names. Bessie has the last name of Patterson or Mitchell but her father's last name is Draper. So I'm stuck and really confused. If any one has information on that, I would great appreciate it. Thank you.

PS: They lived in Delaware.

William Draper Jr. Autobiography

The holographic manuscript of William Draper Jr.'s autobiography fell into my hands through my mother, Margaret, by way of her father, Delbert (author of the Mormon Drapers.) This was donated some years ago to the Church Historical Society where it would be well preserved. Technology has now advanced to the point where a nice quality scan has been provided to me, and I wanted all of the Draper descendants to be able to access it. I've finally started a page for William and Fanny Newton, which ultimately will expand to include all their children, but which initially will focus on the descendents of Riley Newton Draper. The link to the document can be found at http://home.comcast.net/~WilliamDraperJr/picweb/0.html. It is a large PDF file, about 60MB, and includes scans of each page of the holograph plus scans of the original transcription which my first wife did for me. Most of you are probably aware of a cleaned-up text that resides in BYU's HBLL, which can be found here:http://www.boap.org/LDS/Early-Saints/WDraper.html - there are some transcription errors but it's not bad. I'm happy to be able to make this available to the Draper community. Pass the word along to any who might be interested in reading the original.

David
I’m sorry but I don’t have her parents info right now either. But she had 8 siblings. And somewhere it seems that I picked up that her father and brother Luther were ministers. My family is linked to her older brother John Draper who married Esther and their son Ransom Draper married Jane Rogers. From here I’m connected to the family a few different ways. A few surnames are Car, Nevils, Dearing, Whiteside, Fildey and a few more.
As for Thomas and Lydia Rogers, there is a connection but I haven’t been able to link them yet! But Lydia Rogers might be connected to Jane Rogers also.
If you would like to share info just send me an email at anniebabydolly@hotmail.com

Diademia was my great-great-great-grandmother. She is buried in the Draper Cemetery in Keswick, York Co, Ontario. She was married to David Sprague.

David Sprague
Born: 16 Jan 1783, Adams, Berkshire, Massachusetts, USA 11,487
Marriage: Diadamia Draper before 1809 in Keswick, Ontario, Canada
Died: 6 Feb 1866, Keswick, Ontario, Canada
Buried: Draper Cemetery, Keswick, Ontario, Canada
General Notes:

"Sprague Families in America", by W. V. Sprague, page 264:

"David Sprague emigrated with his father, Frederick, from New York, and settled on the shore of Lake Simcoe, at an early date."

"David is the head of one branch of the family now living in Ontario, as his father moved back to the States after the war of 1812."

"He engaged in farming in his earlier days, and was also a merchant and postmaster."

"He was at the head of all the affairs and business of North Gwillimbury Twp., until too old to attend to it, when hi s son David and his son-in-law John Morten took up this work in his stead."

The headstone in Keswick cemetery reads: "In memory of David Sprague who died Feb 6, 1866 aged 83 years 20 days."

David married Diadamia Draper before 1809 in Keswick, Ontario, Canada. (Diadamia Draper was born on 28 Feb 1790 in Keswick, Ontario, Canada and died on 6 Mar 1863 in Keswick, Ontario, Canada.)

The Spragues were the first settlers of Hingham, MA. in the early 1600s.

Do you happen to know who Diademia's parents were? It makes sense that they are related to Thomas Draper and Lydia Rogers (possible aunt/uncle) as many of their children share the same birth locations (migration patterns) as Diademia and her siblings. (Adams, Berkshire, MA; Luzerne Co, PA; and Rome, Oneida, NY) This has to be more than just plain coincidence.

David Love 1763-1827 husband of Mary Draper

Were Joseph Love & Mary Teas the parents of David Love 1763 - 1827 who married Mary Draper niece of Mary Draper Ingles?

In "The Journal of William Calhoun Love" the writer states that his father William Love was a son on Joseph Love and Mary Teas and that he had four brothers: Robert, Samuel, David and John ……It would seem from this that "David" is the David Love who married Mary Draper.

Franklin Deaderick Love in his 1929 genealogy of the Taylor, Love and Alexander families states that “our David Love was a kinsman of brothers Joseph and Samuel Love (not the son of Samuel Love and Mary Teas) and that our David and a brother John were orphaned in the 1760s by a Samuel Love” he refers to as "Samuel Love the elder, who was killed by Indians" and bound out as apprentices in Augusta County Virginia.

Who is correct, William Calhoun Love or Franklin Deaderick Love? Who were the parents of David Love? Any information or comments appreciated

Those with an interest in the genealogy of David Love and Mary Draper may want to read "An Outline of the Taylor, Love and Alexander Families" by Franklin Deaderick Love and "Descendants of Robert Love of Lancaster" by Donald E. Collins 2003.

Ephraim Draper Caroline County Maryland Children

There is some deductive logic needed to arrive at the children of Ephraim Draper, son of Judrell. Here is my thinking.

First, Ann Tribitt married Alsalom Tribitt 16 April 1796. She is a widow by 1809.

25 Mar 1809 Ann Tribitt, Widow; Judral Draper; Daniel, David, and Ephraim Draper," - the property of Ephraim Draper, dec'd - adj. the lands of Joseph Hurd, dec'd; Robt. Dixon, dec'd and Lewis Draper - cont. 57 acres. Wit: Thos. Styll. Ack. bef. N. Whitby, Hy. Coursey.

Caroline County Maryland Land Records Volume H 1801-1804 and Volume I 1804-1809. Compiled by R. Bernice Leonard. Page 135 No. 705. Denton Library MD 975.231 Genealogy

Second, Ann is the sister of Oliver and Daniel Draper.

Tribbett, _______ to Ann sis of Daniel and Oliver Draper, CAR land L/78 1813

Maryland Marriage Clues. Family History Library. 975.2 V2h

Ann Tribitt is too old to be the sister of Ephraim1 having been married in 1796. But she is most likely to be Ephraim1 daughter and older sister to Ephraim2, Oliver, David, Daniel, Judral. (This Judral is no doubt named after Ephraim1's father, Judrell--Judrell died Abt. 1795)

Later land transactions also name Ann along with these people. 23 Oct. 1813 - 27 Dec. 1813 Daniel Draper, Ephraim Draper, Oliver Draper and Polly or Mary Draper to James Rich - co. $45 - their part of "Addition to Hardship," the property of Ephraim Draper, dec'd - adj. the lands of Jas. Dixon, the heirs of Joseph Hurd and Lewis Draper - cont. 57 a. Ack. bef. Geo. Reed and Batcheldor Chance - Priscilla, wife of Daniel Draper and Mary wife of Ephraim Draper, privately examined.

Caroline County Maryland Land Records Volume H 1801-1804 and Volume I 1804-1809. Compiled by R. Bernice Leonard. Page 7 No. 078. Denton Library MD 975.231 Genealogy

(Since Daniel's wife is named in the above source as being Priscilla and Ephraim's wife is named as Mary, is Polly the wife of Oliver?)

Conclusion: I have additional land source notations with the names of those above. But what I have provided should make the point that they are related and are children of the dec'd Ephraim Draper dividing up the inherited land.

I too am trying to find out information on Drapers. I have an Emily Isabel Hooper nee Draper dying in 1950 in Forbes, father Edward and mother Selena Helenax. From my searching it appears Selena/Selina/Angelina/Wena/Ewena may all be variations of name of the same woman who married Edward DRAPER in Forbes in 1867 - ie Angelina GRAHAM.

It appears Emily had at least 7 siblings including Betty (probably Elizabeth Eleanor) who was a nurse in Sydney and didn't marry, and George (probably the George Robert David you mentioned) who had at least one son Alan.

This site http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~tnsmith/ccarticles/Jun9-AB... has me suspicious as it mentions an Edward DRAPER and also Hayes and Graves, especially since I have HAYES/GRAVES marrying into the HOOPER/DRAPER family.

Rusty's brother Samuel "Kent" is my Uncle. I grew up with him in Fontana, California. He is a wonderful man and father. I love him very mucg. We have not spoken since 2002 when I last took a trip to Calif and got to see him. He is still living in the same area, remarried to a woman,(not my Aunt). She is a very kind, lovely woman. Kent had 3 children with my Aunt, Velma Ray Rowlan. They divorced after the kids were raised and both remarried. Velma died in 2009 and Kent is still doing well. I do miss him playing his guitar and singing to us in his garage or ours. He has a beautiful voice. Of cours it runs in his family! Rusty and Kent had a brother named Ronnie who was also a country singer. The rumors are that he died while playing on stage. I do not have definte proof of this but, Uncle Kent told us the story so I have to believe him.
If you search in the public family trees on Ancestry.com for Jacob Draper b. 1770 VA, and look at the Baker/Thompson Families tree, you can see pages of a Bible with the transcription.
