My grandpa was Jacob Druck from Vilna Poland..I was in contact with two different people who like me were trying to reach out to others looking for family members lost in the many tragedies of the Holocaust. In 2003 I got very sick and needed surgery and had stopped searching for awhile. Just recently I found these posts and am wondering if you are still able to help and still intersted in corresponding? Please respond.

Hi Sherry,

I have this info: "October 16 1841 Johan Gorg Druck arrived in Philadephia, Pennsylvania from Germany at age 27 years old. The captain of the ship listed him as George Droke." Johan Peter Druck is mentioned as having come to US a few years later but the relationship between the two men is not specified.

My info comes from copies of several pages from an unknown book that provided a great deal of Droke Family info. The pages include info about and a picture of your ancestor Jacob Clinton Droke 1831-1925.

If you would like copies of these pages, send me your email and I forward to you.

Janet LaFleur

There are some branch web-sites on this line of the family. The problem is most internet researchers do not concur with the early history of this book. Deborah Small's book is Volume II of "The Randolph's of Prince William County, Virginia" by Blanche Randolph, 1979. And she did "re-invent the wheel". She worked on the first volume and then later found information that conflicted with the first work and wrote a second book of corrections.

Write me about your family line.

My wife is also a descendant of Heinrich Wachtel and Catharina (unknown). The key to this is is finding out what Catharina's maiden name actually was. Researchers from all over the U.S. have tried to find that out. I now live in the immediate area where they were married and I haven't been able to verify it.

We were in Illinois last fall and visited the cemetery where they are buried and I went to the Fulton County Historical Society but found out nothing.

Quite a mystery.
Re: DONALD is my Grandfather

I believe we are related. My Name is Liza Druck, I am 14 and live in Cincinnati, Ohio. My Father is Donald Edward Druck jr. son of Donald Edward Druck sr. Don sr. was born on June 22,1917 in Covington,KY. I'm pretty sure he was adopted. I believe he was married twice. You must be from his first marrige because he died while married to Hazel Yunker, in August 1959. He had 4 children with Hazel, in order they were, Donald Edward jr. (my father, born 9/26/46), Mark(currently in Texas), Sherry(currently in New York City) and the youngest, David( also in Texas). Hazel is currently living in Texas with Mark and David. She lived in Covington all of her life up until about 3 months ago. My father and I recently for a box of pictures and scrapbooks containing things from Don sr's life, which was suprising because when he died Hazel wanted nothing to do with him and we thought she got rid of every last memory of him. He was an alcoholic and spent most of his paychecks on alcohol. He stayed out late and would beat the kids. Except for my father. He liked my father because he was usually the one who took care of everything while he wasn't around. So thants why Hazel wanted nothing to do with Don sr. after he died. He died of a heart attack in August 1959, while at one of his baseball teams. ( He loved playing baseball)
I would love it if you could email me back or reply to the board because I have so much I could mail you and theres so much more to tell about him. Thanks,
Liza
I know that there still are Druck families in Germany. If I find any connection between George and Peter I will let you know. Please keep me posted on any info you find. Thanks, Carole
My line is:
1.George Druck - from Europe to York County, PA
2. Johann Nicholas Druck (went by Nicholas) - went to Shenandoah County, VA
3. Philip Druck/Trook - name change here - always lived in Shenandoah County, VA
4. Lemuel Trook - went to Grant County, IN
5.
Carol,
I am descended from Johan Peter Druck. My understanding is that he was born in 1705 in Germany (don't know where in Germany) and landed in Philadelphia, PA, on 9/9/1749 on the ship "St. Andrew". I have just recently come across information indicating that his father's name might have been Johan Gorg Druck. Do you have information on either of them (when they died, where buried, marriage dates, spouse names, etc.)?

My lineage is as follows:
Johan Peter Druck
Jacob Droke, Sr.
Jacob Droke, Jr.
Jacob David (or Devalt?)
Teri, At one time my Grandfather's (Robert Edward Druck)second wife compiled our geneology back to Germany circa 1600. Graandpa's third wife burnt it all and wouldn't let us copy it. I do know that Johaun Gorge Druck came to the US in 1742 on the good ship Mollie and settled in Pennsylvainia. I can tell you about the Drucks in Ohio and Kentucky as I have lived here all my life as well as six generations before me. WOODY
