Hessie Drummonds (daughtere of J. Hickman Drummonds and Rutha McKinney) married William H. Morris on 25 Jan 1891. He died between 1904 and 1905, leaving Hessie with 3 living children. I'm trying to identify William's parents (I can't find a good fit in the several counties in the region) and also to discover where the three children (William H., Charlie T. and Annie L) went after their mother died.

DRUMMOND DRUMMONDS in Bourbon Co, KY 1805

I am trying to establish a link with my NJ > OH > IL.. HUSTON branch and one of VA > KY. Both connect with surname BATSON through 1807 marriage of Mary BATSON and James HUSTON in Ross Co, OH .

The Mordecai BATSON family of Hampshire Co, VA moved to Bourbon Co KY in 1782 . The family divided, (Mordecai, and sons Robert & Jonathan) going to Sullivan/Knox Co IN by 1820 and (probable children of Mordecai, William & Mary) to Ross Co, OH in 1807 and then Edwards/Wayne Co, IL in 1817.

John/James HUSTON family of VA also in Bourbon Co, KY as of 1783. (If they are connected to James HUSTON who married Mary BATSON is unknown).

James DRUMMOND / DURMMONDS in Bourbon Co, KY 1805 or before and is listed on a will of Robert R. MARNEY.

Robert R. MARNEY of VA in Bourbon Co, KY as of 1791. Died 1805 in Bourbon Co, VA. Surnames on will are, MARNEY, BATSON, DRUMMONDS

(Probable daughter of Mordecai BATSON), Mary BATSON went to Ross Co, OH and married James HUSTON in 1807, in 1817 they moved to Edwards Co, IL. Brother of Mary, William BATSON living in Edwards/Wayne Co, IL in 1818 or before. (If William moved with Mary in 1807 to OH is uncertain, publications place William BATSON arriving to Edwards/Wayne Co,IL from OH and also KY depending on the article).

1780'S TO 1810 Connected surnames in Bourbon Co, KY are BATSON, HUSTON, DRUMMOND and MARNEY

Any and all help appreciated!

Connie

For more then 100 years we do have a crest in the family from the
Drummond-clan. We are descendants from Patrick Laurie who married in
1815 with Mary Drummond. Description of the crest : Out of crest coronet
is a sleuth-hound, standing upright, looking left. The oval belt has the motto :
Gang Warily. Can anybody give further information about the origin of
this crest, is it described or registered?
