My birth mother's name is Christina Ann Duckett! She apparantly has married three different times to a Travis, a Quick and a Caton. She was a Travis when I was born in 1993.
I also am interested in finding more about my family. I am looking to find out what Barbara Ann's maiden name was if anybody knows?
Thanks

oh and....aloha cousins! :D
-ms Wilson

Hi Cynthia, Thanks so so much, that has cleared a lot of John Ducketts up for me, there are so many!!!. I am going to look at the site you recommended and also contact your cousin John as my Grandmother is Cissy Duckett (now McGann) who lives in Birmingham and it would be fantastic if your cousin would send her some information. Nice to get in touch with family! however distantly related! Thanks again, Sally Hurst sallylhurst@gmail.com.

I am descended from John and Sarah Hartwell Duckett. I believe all Ducketts in the area of Fenny Compton are probably related. My cousin in England, John Duckett (!), can be reached at johnduckett.36@tiscali.co.uk He has done a prodigious amount of research on the family. According to what John has shared with me, John Duckett who married Caroline Ricketts was son of John Duckett bapt 19 April 1795; m. Elizabeth Hazelwood 31 Jan 1822. He died 5 Aug 1844; she died 10 Aug 1863. The www.familysearch.org has a lot of info on this family. Hope this helps. Cynthia cynvogel@aol.com

My Great Grandfather was Frank Duckett (1881), son of Charles Walter Duckett (1850), son of John Duckett (1825-1899) married to Caroline Ricketts (1824). I have sourced infomation on another John Duckett (1826-1912) who married Sarah Hartwell. Does anyone know if they are related and if so how? There must be some connection as they are all from Fenny Compton in Warwickshire. Help would be much appreciated as I cannot pop to the village living in New Zealand! Will gladly share my Duckett info. Thanks, Sally Hurst
Erie.pa,
Josephine Ann Zalenski Duckett
Jo Duckett passed away peacefully in her home Saturday, December 17, 2011. She was born the daughter of the late Joseph and Genevieve Zalenski
on March 12, 1928, in Erie.pa,
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph D. Duckett, and her son-in-law, Eugene Renzi. Jo was deeply loved by her six children, Laura El-Shenawy and her husband Sherif of Erie; Mary Jo Herron and her husband Thomas of Olathe, Kansas; Debra Renzi of Erie, Becky Samler and her husband Ken of Erie; Suzanne Abercrombie of Fort Myers, Florida; and Joseph L. Duckett and his wife Patty of Erie. Jo and her wonderful sense of humor will be greatly missed by her grandchildren, Emmett (Sanae), David, Nicole (Gary), Joe, Devin, Alyssa, Jason (Ann Margaret), Christian (Cindy); and also her eight great-grandchildren, Julia, Jenna, Addie, Emmie, Madison, Quinton, Sammi and Sophie. Her sisters, Florence Rolle of New Smyrna Beach, Florida, and Terri Wedzik of Erie, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins, will also miss her terribly. There will be an empty seat at card games with her close friends, who might finally have a chance to win! Jo graduated from Harborcreek High School, having recently celebrated her 65th class reunion with friends. She spent her life raising her six children, her proudest accomplishment. She was an Avon lady for over 50 years. She had an outgoing personality and was the "life of the party." She loved her competitive card games, bargain shopping, driving her car, golf, bingo, the slots at the casino, the horse races at the track, and Surf and Turf at Coney Island. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Friends may call at the G. R. Bailey Funeral Home 4396 Iroquois Avenue, Lawrence Park Wednesday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mark the Evangelist R. C.

My ancestor is also Richard Duckett. I cannot find a record of him being the son of William Duckett and Elizabeth Henshaw. William was married three times and according to my records, Lionel was the son of Elizabeth Henshaw and Richard was the son of William's other wife Margaret Moore.

I have as William's parents John Duckett and Jane Wyntour. John was born in 1580 and died in October 1648 in Wool-Calne, England. Jane was born about 1625 in England. John was High Sheriff of Wiltshire in 1628, of Hartham near Corsham. I have John's lineage traced all the way back to the time of William the Conqueror and its possible that a Duckett (called De Duce back then) came from Normandy with the Conqueror and the Duckett's settled in England, Ireland, and later America.

There is a Duket One-Name Study that includes DUCKITT as one of the variants.

The web site is :
http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~rsduckett/....

There is a database available that might answer some of the questions asked in this thread, but for best effect, use the "soundex" option when searching on the surname.

I attach a Duckett bible from 1875 for the descendants of Albert Duckett (1846-1932) and Florence Jane Meguire Duckett (1847 – 1931) of Jacksonville, Illinois.

I know the value of bible records and I am looking for another set of bible records for the Meguire side of this family that are referenced in the York County Historical Society in PA. Since I am not a Duckett but I do relate on the Meguire side, I was hoping to find others in this family to locate the Meguire bible records. So, I am fishing for leads on that score and am willing to share what I have in return. Hope that gets me somewhere!

Good morning .. unfortunately I can't lay my hands on my book at present. I might suggest you contact the Duckett One Name Study out of England. If just do a google search with Duckett One Name Study you should find it. When I can find my book I'll see if the info you're requesting is in it. My first thought is that there really is no index in the back of the book but I could be wrong on that. Sorry not much help.

Would you happen to have a Robert W Duckett, b. ca 1861?
I'm trying to pin mine down to a birthplace. He was married at age 28 in Meade County KS and divorced in 1893.

I have found this Duckett - A Robert William Duckett (1862, Horton-in-Ribblesdale, Yorkshire), son of Charles Martin Duckett (1826-1883) and Frances Fothergill (1831-1877), fits the bill. He appears with his mother and sister in the 1871 census in Liverpool but no trace after that, so perhaps he emigrated.

I've never found him on a US census report before his marriage nor after. Any help or hints you have would be most welcome.
Lin
