I'm seeking info about a small group of my Canadian ancestors in the vicinity of St. John, New Brunswick, Canada. Although they had strong ties to St. John, they also appear intermittently in Nova Scotia, Maine and Massachusetts.

My earliest known ancestor is Thomas Dummer (c.1850-?) of Maine and Nova Scotia, husband of Elizabeth Frances Gray (1850-1940) of St. John. Elizabeth Frances Gray was the daughter of Thomas Gray and Elizabeth Simpson, who may have immigrated to Canada from Ireland.

Thomas and Elizabeth had 5 children:

1. William Edward Dummer (1871-1906)
2. Edward Dummer (1873-?)
3. Charles Arthur Dummer (1875-1916) m. Ella Hiltz (1877-1941)
a. Son = Alfred Ronald Dummer (1897-1975)
b. Dau = Unknown
4. Marion F. "May" Dummer (1878-1954) m. William R. Rhodes
a. Son = James Clinton Rhodes (1908-1992)
5. Ida Blanche Dummer (1879-c.1938) m. William Smith
a. Dau = Marion Smith (c.1909-?)

I am a direct descendant of Thomas and Elizabeth and would greatly appreciate any scrap of information about them, the other individuals listed above, and/or the families of Dummer, GRAY, Hiltz, Rhodes, or Smith in the general vicinity of New Brunswick. Thank you!
