I saw your post and I have a puzzle I have been trying to solve about my Duncan line. My great grand mother was Eliza Duncan; I have no information about Eliza's parents or siblings. Eliza married William Christian DEC.21, 1890 in Claiborne Co. TN. Eliza is William Christian's second wife and they had 4 children; George W. B.SEPT.1891, Lillie Mae b.Sept.08,1892, Joseph S. b.DEC1895, and Laminde "Minnie" b. APR10,1898. Family story is that Eliza died shortly after giving birth to Minnie. What I find interesting is that your Duncan family has a George W. that married an Eliza Newton and I am wondering if my Eliza was possibly name after her ( maybe her mother?). I also have a feeling, nothing concrete, that my Eliza Duncan and William Christian named their first son, George W., for one of Eliza's relatives ( possibly her father?)Do you know of any Duncan/Christian family connections?
