I was wondering if anyone can tell me what happened to Janet and Jeanette Dunford, Michael J Dunford's twin sisters. Would appreciate any information.

Michael (Mick) Dunford was my great uncle. Michael Dunford emigrated to the US at 18, arriving at Ellis Island on 9 June 1909 on the ship ‘SS Teutonic’. In 1917, Michael Dunford enlisted and served in the US Army as a Sergeant with Company M, 108th Infantry Regiment, 27th Division and was wounded in combat in France in World War I.

Hi,
I am looking to trace my mother's mother.
My Mothers name is Winifred Rose Dunford b. 1921, her mother was Susannah Andrews, Married to George Fredrick Dunford ?, They lived in Chance Street Portsmouth before the WWII, then Cadnam Road Portsmouth.
So if anyone has any information on Susannah Andrews, I would be grateful for anything to start me off.

Lived in Montcalm WV. if I understand her parents were Edward Dunford and Mary Bell Bibey. my grandmother was born April 1905 in West Virginia and Died Oct 10 1995 in Ohio. Mary Bell is buried in Montcalm WV and was told my grandfarther is buried at the State hospital in Spencer WV

Edward got married as a smith to Hannah Gething and they had a
son born Hiram James Edward smith who died Hiram James Edward

One of Hirams Children is still alive in wellington (Just)
I am at present trying to find out whether Edward is the son of Williams wife and a Smith rather than a Dunford or he may have used the name to hide from the law

Hello. Where can this picture be found? This Michael J. Dunford died in 2011 and is, I believe, a cousin -- the son of a Michael "Mick" Dunford of Bohadoon, Dungarvan, County Waterford, who emigrated to Auburn, New York, fought in the 108th Infantry in World War I, and moved to Wisconsin. Hi Michael! I am Peggy Dunford Woodward. My father's Uncle was Thomas Dunford , Charlie Will's Father. Are you aware that William Albert Dunford fought in the Civil War? As well as about 38 other Dunfords? When Cousin Charlie visited me in Yorktown, VA in 1983 he told me that we had ancestors who fought in the Rev. War. Do you know who they were? He also said that one was an officer! I would love to exchange Dunford Ancestor Info with you! Do you live in Tazewell? My brother Luther used to drive for Uncle Tom in the 1940's. WOW!!! I too have Jim Dunford's book and am related to the Dunfords by way of the Thwaites/Ferguson/Remington line. Jim and his wife came up to the Michigan area for a reunion and to visit with my Mother, Miriam (Remington) Mitchell. Jim and his wife were very special people and could talk genealogy for hours!

Grandma Sarah Alifore nee Christian Dunford b 1868 is from the "Red Wolf" Cherokee Indian Tribe from Tazewell VA. Her father was Mathias Harmon Christian b Apr 1834 d1864.Her mother was Elinor Beavers. Nearly everyone called Grandma "Allie". Sarah m Samuel Dunford 9-9-1891. Gm's Indian name was "Sarah Lou". Her father's Indian name was "Matchsquathi Tebetho" Christian. Her gf's Indian name Thomas Bailey "Kumskaka" Christian b 3-15-1770 in Wash. co VA(now Taz. co).d 12-7-1853 in Sinking Waters, Taz. co. Have miliary info and paper work on a Robert D. Pauley. My nephew found this info in a car he bought and is trying to get the papers and other stuff to the family. Hope someone can help him to do this. The paper work shows the state of west virginia and the name Robert D. Pauley. Car was in a field in tennessee.

My Great Grandmother was Leah Lamona Dunford,daughter of Edward Dunford who was I believe the eldest son of William Dunford and arrived from Wiltshire on The Cressey with the family. Edward is buried in Greymouth, Leah Lamona married my Great Grandfather Percival Sydney Beck who had a Grocery'Emporium
in Greymouth,Leah had 5 children Maven (my Grandmother), Jewell, Doreen, Paul and Arnold. I have only just this week started looking into this so more information will come to light, if you are interested

thanks again peggy for the information i loved your dad as a nice and super person he gave me good advice on who i was running with kept me safe uncle jaybob was why i have a hard time going to funerals today it afected me all my life we were real close he always kidded me about my long hair was always going to hold me down and cut it my gandpa william mathias dunford and ethel marie dunford had bill franlin dee died at 3 mary martha died at 1 then there was ruby;bernice which is my mother called jo she had 20 kids 12girls 8 boys my dad was james price same as mine geraldine she died with lou gerigs disease dolly jaybob alice and jewell called jr he was with jaybob when he went over the bridge grandpa dad was william james dunford he was the brother to samuel and your grsndmother was the sister to grandpa mom susie christian their dad was mathias christian also your uncle jess dunford gave the land for the deskins cemetery where your family are layed to rest he is there also i like to pass on as much as i can thanks again jimbob

My granfather Thomas Henry Dunford was born in Dorset.He then moved to London, to the East End. Related to John Dunford from Newtown (near Portsmouth) but Abbotsbury is where I think John came from. He was a landlord of a PH in Portsmouth I think
