Hi What a surprise I thought I might be the only on working on this family. I am granddau. of Arthur Franklin and Rose Humble and I have little more info than what you presented but not much. I also thought that Frank & Mary came earlier from Ireland 1835-40 maybe. No good reason just family oral tradition that he was 15 yrs old and she 12. Very young I know but the famine was starting any maybe they just wanted to get their children out while they could. Please write I would like to corres. and maybe 2 heads will be better than 1.
Thx

His date of birth is 2-6-1861 West Virginia- His parents were Frank & Mary Dunlavy. Frank and Mary came from Ireland and lived in Marion Co Virginia & Wheeling, Ohio, West Virginia. Owen died 5-31-1919 in Wheeling, Ohio, WV. He had 5 children that I am aware of.

I believe Frank and Mary may have came to the states around 1853. I have found their named spelled Dunlavy, dunleavy & Dunlevey.

Let me know if this connects with your family.

Thanks

Hi,
Saw your message posted on the boards at Ancestry.com. James Dunlavy, Civil War Hero, married an ancestor of mine, Letitia VONACHEN. I was wondering if you had the DOBs for Harvey Dunlavy and Martha Armour Rose. Also, did James have any siblings. Appreciate you taking the time to read this. Look forward to a reply. Would be happy to swap info, if you are interested in the VONACHEN
line.
Thank you,
Arlene Vonachen McCabe
Charlotte, NC
Amcwashere@AOL.com

Nancy Dunlevy/Thomas Armstrong Fredericksburg, Wayne/Holmes County, Ohio

There is a published Dunlevy Family History of which contains a sketch of James Harvey Dunlevy, pages 133-138, written 15 May, 1900. He writes "Nancy Dunlevy, sister of my grandfather, Andrew Dunlevy, married Thomas (Armstrong). Their children were Mary, Sue, and John and they are all dead except John Armstrong, who is living at Fredericksburg, Ohio, married Mary Cunningham, and they have several children of whom I have no knowledge. During 1896 Mrs. Armstrong visited my third cousin, Mr. Harvey Steel, of Kenneth, Fayette County, Pa". Thomas Armstrong and wife Nancy Dunlevy Armstrong are both buried in the West Side Cemetery in Fredericksburg, Ohio. Their son John D. Armstrong and wife Mary Cunningham and several family members are buried in the East Side Cemetery also in Fredericksburg, Ohio. My direct line is through John S. Armstrong, brother of Thomas Armstrong who is also buried in the same cemetery with Thomas, and with their parents, Joseph and Susanna (Crow) Armstrong. Does anyone have any additional information on these Dunlevy, Armstrong relatives?

I'm looking for any information on Gertrude Dunlavy, married to Dr. Otto Lawrence Asher. I'm looking more for info on Otto Asher. Dr. Asher was married twice and Gertrude was his first wife. Not sure of the marriage date - probably very late 1800's or very early 1900's. Believe there was one child, either William or Robert. From what I know, Dr. Asher is buried in Lyons, KS with his first wife. Any info would be appreciated.

Deborah
dalong2024@aol.com
