Thank you for posting this! Edmond was my great uncle. If anyone is related to the Dupre/Dupres family from Pawtucket, please contact me. It was a large family of 10 children. Two died in the flu epidemic. The parent's names were Andre and Odile Pion Dupres. Thank you!

Augustus Davis or Dupre-born-Cherbourg France

I am looking for information regarding Augustus David Dupre who was born Nov, 22 1833 in Cherbourg France, married a Matilda-maiden name unknown in Thomaston Maine in 1859 and settled in Armor/Hamburg New York where he died. Family talk says he was somehow related to Jules Dupre the French painter but I have no records to make the connection. If anyone has any info on this person please let me know and post a message here for me. It would be greatly appreciated. Also when Augustus Dupre first came to the U.S. immigrationn changed his name to Augustus Davis with which he was known from then on.

HI sheila,I am Gilbert Thibeau Jr., my dad was born on April 26, 1920. Delina's last born. (Amos was born a couple of years before.)I think Delina died closer to 1946 not 1966. I remember my dad telling me she took care of me as a baby until she died and then his sister Rose took care of me until she died of cancer. Delina, Patrick and my Dad (who died in 1986)are all buried in the same grave in Holy Cross Cemetery in Everett, MA. The last name on the tombstone is spelled Thibeau for all 3 of them (not Thibeault). Do you have any info of her husband John (my grandfather)? I did meet all of my dad's brothers, when I was growing up, including your grandfather Andrew. Would love to hear from you.
I currently live in Savannah Texas.

Augustin, Elzear, Charles, Sylvia, Vilda are jsut a few of their names. We are also related to the Bond family. Eveline (Malvina?) was my ggrandmother. She married August Despres.
Hi,

I am related to the Bozonier/Cantrelle family and would love to see what you have gathered in the way of your family tree, thanks. Also I wish to make you aware that being Creole has nothing to do with color of ancestory but does concern where your ancestors came from and wether or not they were decendants of the original geneology of that place. It is a widely thought "misconception" that "Creole" infers mixed race. This is a coincidental occurrance but not a rule in the definition of the word at all. There are multitudes of white creoles, mixed creoles and even black creoles, but no mix of race infers anything having eto do with the definition of the word...just thought you would be interested in the actual meaning of "creole".

I am looking for information on Blanche CREUSOT, daughter of Auguste CREUSOT and Aline D. DUPRE (DUPERE?).

Blanche was born in Apr 1886 in Warren, Bristol, Rhode Island, USA. She died around 1948 (not sure of exact date).

Auguste CREUSOT was born around Jan 1844 in France. Aline DUPRE was born around Dec 1860 in France and died May 13, 1901 in Amesbury, Essex, Massachusetts, USA.

Aline's father Nicolas DUPRE (DUPERE?) was born around Jul 1818 in France and died 10 Feb 1901 in Amesbury, Essex, Massachusetts, USA. Aline's mother was Virginia (Virginie?) BOULAY and was also born in France.

Auguste, Aline and Nicolas immigrated to the USA around 1884-85. However, I am not sure where they landed or where they left from in France.

Dennis,
I have a very skeletal outline going back to Andre Dupre who married Celeste Laprade. Most of my information has been gleaned from US sources and only gives names of parents in some cases without birth dates, etc.
The 12th US Census (1900) Lists Euclid living in Gardner, Massachusetts with wife Angelina, and children Edmund (hard to read), Alice, and Lucy, with sister Leah, and brothr Joseph. Euclid is 27 years old. In the same census, also in Gardner is another Dupre, age 51, appears to be Gephart or Raphart, wife Mary is 47. Don't know of any family connection but both are listed as from French Canada. In the 1910 census, Euclid and Angelina are in Moxee, Washington, where they resided until their deaths. Children listed in this census were; Edmund 15, Alice 13, Lucy 13, Cora 8, Lillian 2, and Elizabeth under 1 year.
Unfortunately this is all that I have gathered to date.
In 2007 I received an email from Louise Desjardins at histoire_vivante@yahoo.ca who seemed to have some information on the Dupre family but I can't find a follow up response. I will look at my records again.
I hope this helps a little and I will keep your information in my files if I should find any additional information Good Luck in your research.
Barry Merrill

Denis,

Thank you for your response. The Dupre family is in my son in laws family line. His great grandfather John Peter Glesener m. Cora Dupree in 1925 in Moxee, Washington. She was born in Gardner, Massachusetts to Euclid and Angelina (Montville) Dupree. This is most definitely the same family. I will be happy to share any information I may have and would appreciate any information that you may have to offer.
Sorry to take so long to reply but I have been on travel.

Barry
