Larry are you out there? Thanks for the info. What was your Grandmother's first name? Did you know any other Duquesne's? My Grandfather was Guilford Duquesne born approx. 1893. He was an actor we only have pictures of him in costume. He was in Chicago, Missouri, and Oklahoma where he married my Grandmother. Thanks Linda

Hi, our family tree goes back to the 18th century as Cane but it is believed that we are descended from one of Abraham's sons who settled in England as a Huguenot refugee.
Do you have any record of the sons' names? According to one source there were at least 4.

regards

I am trying to help my husband's nephew research his paternal ancestry. His father died this past January and he left very little information. His parents were supposedly John (Jean?) Paul Duquesne and Juanita Lafitte. Their son, Gean Duquesne, was supposedly born in Dulac, Terrebonne, LA in 1934. Any clues would be greatly appreciated.

Hi there

Yes please, any help on establishing our line would be great. Our family tree has been in the family since 1670's starting with Thomas Kenny (Quesnay), (Du Quesne), and it says he arrived in Ireland 1660's a Huguenot fleeing from France, a descendant from a maternal line of Abraham Du Quesne. We don't know if it was from Abraham born 1610 or his father who was Abraham. Our Kenny ancestor arrived in New Zealand 1856 and the tree has been passed down the line since.

Re: Abraham or Lardin or John Duquesne

Abraham Du Quesne, Marquis Du Quesne was born in Dieppe in 1610, died in 1688. His nephew, the Marquis De Menneville was governor of Canada in the early 1700's. Fort Du Quesne, later renamed Ft. Pitt (in Pittsburg, Pa) was named after him. Pierre Du Quesne, a direct descendant of Abraham, fought in the American Revolutionary war and was a captain in one of the vessels of the French fleet that blockaded Cornwallis at Yorktown. He ended in Cuba after the French Revolution. The Du Quesne's stayed in Cuba, until the emergence of Fidel Castro. At such time they all emigrated to the US. We have a family tree that dates back to Abraham. Will be glad to check for the last names you mentioned.

I can't help with a picture, but I have some information about this family, as my wife is a Jamaican du Quesnay. I have a record of an Emile Le Mercier du Quesnay, son of Antoine Joseph Ulysse Le Mercier du Quesnay and Charlotte Delfosse. I didn't have his birth date, but he certainly died in 1907, in Kingston. He was married twice, to Harriett Delfosse and to 'Belle Keene', who seems a good match to your Arabelle. I have a pedigree for his paternal line to 1492. If you don't have this information, and would like it, please let me know.

Steve Potter

Descend from these three. Abraham son of Lardin and John related to them.

Abraham had a son Abraham (born 1610 - Dieppe) who was prominent in French Naval history. John was in Flanders who fled to England abt 1575 due to the raids by the duke of Alva.

Our Kenny tree states we descend from this family. Both Abraham were commanders in the navy. The first ion the Swedish navy, the 2nd in the French navy. Any help sorting this out to link up to the kenny line of Ballinrobe, who arrived from England, please
