James Dorrington born 1720 in Essex, England married Anne Silvester b. 1726 in Essex, they had at least one son John born 1772. John was a convict arrived in Australia and married Jane Gittens in 1808. They had at least 8 children in Australia.

John Durrington 1772-1856 has a large list of descendants around Sydney, Australia. He farmed about the Hawkesbury River area, he received his 'Certificate of Freedom' in 1811 and was granted 40 acres of land at Portland Head, New South Wales, Australia.
He later married Jane Gittens who was born on the "Mary Ann" in the Atlantic Ocean in 1791.

John Durrington sometimes known as Dorrington born about 1772 in Essex, England was sentenced by Essex Quarter Sessions to 7 years Transportation, for stealing one silk handkerchief, one linen shirt, a pair of leather shoes and a common prayer book on 24 January 1879 at Ingrave.
Arrived Colony of Sydney in 28 August 1791 in "William and Ann" as part of the "Third Fleet".
He became a convict landowner.
We are looking for his parents and earlier ancestors.
