Mainly Eagle came from Norfolk and Suffolk across into Lincoln

It might have some French connection but back in Norman times.
A man called Egle in 13th century was also called the Frenchman

Hi Sue. Sorry to hear your friend has passed away. I was looking for info on the surname Eagle, as nothing is known about Doris Irene Eagle, my Grandmother who passed away before i was born. I'm looking for anybody related to Jannet "Jessie" Eagle (nee Calwill) and her husband Thomas Eagle. Jessie and Thomas were both born in Ontario, Canada but later moved to Saskatchewan where they married around 1910. They had 8 children: Donald, William, Norman, Douglas, Kenneth, Kathleen (married Lloyd Stueck), Evelyn (married Alexander Harlin), and Jean (married a Walsh).

Abraham Eagle was born 1805 and married 1826 Susanna Propst and in 1829 he married
Elizabeth Judy. John A. was the son of the second marriage. I haven't searched for his date of birth, but he married Mary Ford in 1862. Go to Google and use wvculture.org. and look for vital statistics. I believe it is the second on the list. It is free and if you go to WV Vital Statistics directly, they want you to subscribe to Archives and pay. James Nickell is shown as marrying Mary W.Ford 9 months later, which could be true if he died. If you have found children for him, then it's not true. Abraham's brother, Reuben was my line, so I haven't looked too hard for his nephews.

I can't find my first email to you (I'm new at home computers) so I don't know what I said the first time. Do you want more info on Timothy - the father of John-? I have his inventory of belongings, and the division of his property to his children when he died in 1795, his land grant from Lord Fairfax, his Revolutionary War census in Dunmore co, which I can send, no problem. Tim's census, 1790, is online, Shenandoah co., his son William's name is on the next page. Look for John's census in 1810,1820 and 1830 in Greenbrier Co. WV. In those years they don't give children's names, that's why my chart comes in handy. I got my early info from county books and Rev. War books at Fairfax Co, Virginia library. Bonnie

Leroy's father Joseph was brother to my Reuben and so I am primarily interested in his line, which I have pretty completely, except for Timothy's parents, who it seems the whole world wants to find. I don't recall how much I told you without checking it out, but Joseph's father was John, Sr. I have a set of forms I printed out for someone who doesn't want them, so if you want them let me know. It includes Joseph and his children, John, and Timothy.
I scanned pages I typed up for Timothy with his children, John with his children and that one includes Joseph's brothers. I don't have a fax just a scanner and printer, so I can mail them. Joseph you can look up in the 1850 USFederal Cen-
sus also the 1860 (2pages) to get all the children.

They moved to Thomasville, NC around the turn of the century & are both buried here in Fair Grove Meth. Ch. cemetary. I have pics of them & the family. Emory Eagle's 2nd wife was 'Kitty' Ruth Catherine Fox. They were my grandparents. Susan Eagle - the wife of Reuben -her last name was Hedrick.
Philip Eagles wife was Mary Hedrick -lived in Beckley, West Virginia where there
are many Hedricks. Reuben's parents were John,Senior and Barbara Weitzel also
spelled Wetzel and Whitsel. John's father was Timothy. John and his two
brothers, william and Edward, are listed in land sale documents and shown in
the map of the division of Timothy's land after his death in 1795 in shenandoah
county. The family moved to Greenbrier Co in West Va., Summers Co and then
Fayette Co. Look in census forms.

Lillian was born around 1902, and might have takne stepfather's surname of Eagle. I believe true maiden name to be Buska.

It appears Lillian and Harold lived in Illinois around 1920, then onto the Detroit MI area.

WV Eagles, specifically line from John Eagle to Emory S. Eagle

I believe I have traced the following line with documentation but I am not absolutely sure. Need help.

John Eagle b. 1776 married Barbara Whitsell had a son
Reuben Eagle b. 1812 married Susan Hedrick had a son
Philip A. Eagle b. 1847 married Mary E Hedrick had a son
Emory S. Eagle b. 1874 and I have the rest for sure.

As far as I can gather Philip A Eagle married Mary E Hendrick on 25 Oct 1871. According to the documents I have, Philip A Eagle is listed as the father of Emory S. Eagle. Emory S. Eagle was, based on documents, married twice. First to Saraha F. Hanson on 15 Aug 1896 and then to Kitty Fox on 26 Aug 1901. The parents listed on Philip A. Eagle's marriage certificate are Reuben Eagle (most likely born in 1813) and Susan Eagle (maiden name currently unknown). Also, to go a step further, on Reuben Eagle's death certificate, from 6 April 1890, the parents listed for him are Jno and Barbara Eagle. This is as far as I have gone thus far.

The John Propst that I am trying to research did marry Elizabeth Stuart in 1841-2 and had more children.
A relative of my dad's, now dead, said that John's first wife, Anna, died in 1839. I do not know her source. 1840 census did not show an adult woman in the household. Is it possible that this Abigail was the wife.
In particular, I am looking for the mother of Franklin Propst, born 12 April 1832, Fayette County, WV.
It seems that there were many men by the name of John Propst.
