Husband's grandfather was a Earls, but apparently there is a Earls/Sisk connection possibly in Hopkins County, Ky. Wyatt Earl. Maybe he had relatives in McMinnville. Also there was Sisks/Wyatt and now a Earl connection.

I haven't had a lot of time to research lately, I have just finished my BA in Psychology and start graduate school soon to complete my Master's. I hear from Steve occasionally, and he seems to be doing well. And you? What have you been up to?

Earls Sinkhorn Elifritz Faulkner

James Earls married America "Mary Nina" "Nearcy Sinkhorn" in Kentucky and they had 5 children there Sarah who married Easom Taylor and stayed in Kentucky, Amanda, Margaret who married Issac Elifritz, Mary F, George W, William B, and Stephen D. all of the children except for Stephen were born in Kentucky Stephen (my grandfathers dad) was born in Illinois in 1861 The family is listed as being in Kentucky in the 1850 census and in Illinois in the 1860 census. After 1860 however I can't find anything on any family members except my great grandfather Stephen and is sister Margaret Earls Elifritz. Family gossip said that something had happened and the kids were placed with relatives. Due to a fire in the town hall in Washington Irvington Illinois records were lost. The people at Washintong Irvintgon also said there was also an epidemic of some sort in the area in the 1860's Stephen Earls married Armitta Caroline Faulkner the daughter of Abner Faulkner and grand daughter of John Bear Faulkner If anyone can help with this mystery please contact me

Hester Wellman was my GG-Grandmother. She married Caudle Cecil New. I have seen a couple different parents listed for her and am getting a little lost. I have always been told that she was part Cherokee Indian. Has anyone been able to trace this line? If so, can someone confirm for certain which parents are hers and where the Cherokee traces back to?

My great great grandfather was Alexander Earl (Earle, Earls) found on 1860 Arkansas Census in Hempstead County, Ar. His wife was Catherine Ross, born in Adair County, Ky and they had children James A Earls, my grandfather, J Catherine Earls, and Martha J Earls. At least that is what the census says. It is believed that Catherine married JFS Sanford and had children Melvina and James D listed on 1880 Boone, Columbia, Arkansas census. Sounds like we might have the same family. Would love to exchange information with you.
Carolyn Riggsbee

Have traced my gg-father, Anderson Earl(e) back to abt 1859, the year of his birth in Alabama, Black, Afro-American; the census of 1880 indicates when he was about 21 years old, the Federal Census of Alabama indicates his parents were born in South Carolina. I have yet to confirm any of his brothers or sisters or his parents[ name. Only can confirm his wife he married, March 3, 1883, Melvinia Dubose. Heis believed to have passed about 12 years later, about 35 years old from oral information. However, no confirmation of his parents or any of his siblings were made. Just have not been able to link any information up to shed light on who his parents or siblings were.

I don't know if this helps you at all, but...
I'm researching my grandmother, Margaret Earls (married to become Shea). She was born in Rhode Island, but went back to Galway a number of times. When she came to the US in 1923, I believe, she listed a "Mrs. M. Green" in Boston as her residence/contact. One of her ancestors married a Joyce, so I don't know if there's a connection there or not.
