Good morning!
Glad to hear from you. I have been working on the Easons and Townsend of Wilkes, Oglethorpe and Floyd Co's. There are others that live around there, but am focusing on those right now. I have been to Cave Spring and found a distaff cousin there. It takes a lot of time to sort out these people. I found out where John G. Eason lived in Cave Spring, and where he died. Everyone has J.G. married to an Upson, but it is not the same one. Also there are 2 Augustus Easons. John G. was not born in Morgan Co. It may have been Greene then, but he lived in Oglethorpe next to Townsend in Wilkes. If I can ever get enough time to work for a week on thie, I might find some answers. I have a John Eason m. to Nancy Arthur. Have a guardianship paper naming him, Bell, and Maxey over the children. I have all those children accounted for. Just need to prove that this is J.G.'s dad. call me Jo Crafton, Nee Eason 352 569 0987

Jo, you know about my grand father Augustus Jefferson Eason who was born in Alabama in 1864-1924. He had a son named Augustus Jefferson ( my uncle Gus) born 1895- 1987. They never lived in Oklahoma. Gus had a son named Harold born 1927- 1995. He went to college in Norman Oklahoma. But I don't think that counts. I have seen A Augustus Eason in the census records. Wish I could help. Mary

Start with the year your family came to Texas. Our group came to Texas in 1882(about). The new train came through their area in Alabama. They lived near Columbus, Georgia on the Alabama side of the river. They settled in Van Zandt County. One Uncle lived in Smith County, Garden Valley, TX.One brother to my grand father lived in Terrell, Kaufman Co. TX. John Eason b.1812-d.1873. Augustus Jefferson b. 1865-d.1923. Andrew Jackson b 1813 d.1904. Can you recognize and of this?

Ted, good to hear from you. I go back to Georgia with documents. I have the wills of the earlier Eason family in NC. They mention Abraham but since I don't have his birth date I can't be sure. I have a probate (I think that is the term) where a son in law and a daughter bought out the other children for the estate land. All children are listed along with sons in laws. So, that is where I have proof. I followed all the children as they moved from Fayette Co. GA. to Alabama and on to Texas. Do you know how to trace with the DNA test. If so, we have a Eason male tested. His name is Earl Quincy Eason. Earl's father was Earl, his father was John Quincy, his father was Augustus, his father was Andrew and his father was Abraham born around 1770 and died 1825 in Fayette Co Ga. Tell me about your family. Mary mbiondillo@msn.com

I am also an Eason...there are many. My group came from England, Ireland or God knows where, back in 1700's or earlier. I have documents proving only back to Georgia 1810. He was Abraham Eason, wife Lucy. His youngest child was my great grand father, Andrew. He migrated to Texas. You have to take each generation and go backward. Look for cousins you can positivly identify and ask for their help. It helps to talk to grand parents. Keep posting. My Eason line did not stop in New Orleans. ( they stayed on the train!).
I know your post is very old so you very likely found what you needed on John Monroe Eason. I am trying to locate a person who may be buried in the same plot in Pine Grove cemetery in Phenix City Alabama. The oldest sibling of John and Silas was Martha (C?) Eason (Mabry?). Her husband in Texas abandoned her and she moved back to Alabama and likely lived and died with family. Our family called her Aunt Matt. She was born in Fayette Co GA in 1839. She moved back to Al in about 1910-20. Her parents were Andrew Jackson Eason and Elizabeth Findley Eason. Mary
