My Mary Edgels was born Aug 17, 1824 & died at age 82 on Dec 6, 1906. She was married to Jacob Allen High in Franklin, OH on July 31, 1845. The lived in Madison, Tipton, Indiana. I believe they had 4 children, Margaret, Martha, John Wesley & Jacob Allen High Jr. between 1845 & 1854, when Jacob Sr. died.

Any of this sound familiar? If so, write back or search the "High" family to find more. My group descends from Jacob Jr.

I don't have Jacob Allen High in my data but do have many Mary Edgells as you might imagine and I do not have spouses for about half of them. Can you give me more information about her such as birth date and where, etc?

I am trying to see if my research is correct. I beleive I have traced back to Benjamin Edgell Sr. and would like to see if your notes shows the same.
My great-grandfather was Asa Edgell of Sardis, WV. And my grandfather was Clyde Edgell of Clarksburg, WV.

Allen Edgell's wife was Margaret "Peggy" Barker. Allen was the son of James Edgell and Mary Ice. James, the son of Benjamin Edgell and Rebecca Merrick. Benjamin, the son of James Edgell and Mary Staples. James, the son of Benjamin, Sr. and Mary unknown. That's as far as it goes. Another "brick wall"

I found the story you wrote here about your ancestors very interesting. John Kinzie Clark, andrew Clark and sarah elizabeth were all connected to my 4th great grandmother Margaret Mckenzie Kinzie Hall. I have some books about Indian chief Tecumseh where it has mentioned Andrew Clark, but thatis the extent of my findings on him. There is always plenty to read about my 4th great grandfather John Kinzie. Would love on the Mckenzie family!

Roseville: Pearl Ines Edgell, 97 of Zanesville, Ohio formerly of Roseville, Ohio passed away at 12 noon, Saturday, May 28, 2011 at Cedar Hill Care Center in Zanesville following an extended illness.

Pearl was born January 9, 1914 in Triadelphia, Ohio, (Morgan County) the daughter of the late Arthur and Zoe Aler Edgell.

She was a registered nurse in obstetrics and retired from Bethesda Hospital in Zanesville. Miss Edgell was a member of St. Paul's United Methoidst Church in Roseville and Grace United Methodist Church in Zanesville.

Pearl is survived by her special neice, Kathy Edgell of Roseville.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Mont Edgell and her half-sister, Clare Maxwell.

Private family viewing will take place. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at (Old) Roseville Cemetery with Pastor Al Lease officiating. Burial will follow.

My great grandmother was Frances Clarke (Clark) who married William Meeder in Indiana I believe. She was born in 1878 and I am unable to find her parents. I am looking for my native american connection. My father grew up in an orphanage and told me that we were "indian" but took any information to his grave. I've been looking for his family. My name is Darrell Edgell I am the son of Lexie Lola Mounts her dad was Edward Mounts and he married Lilly Woods. And they all were born and raised across the Atwell bridge then turn right at the tracks about 150-200 on the right of the tracks. The house isnt there any more.
I have no further info on this.

Yes, Eunice is my step-mom. She had the oldest Dreama,Christine,Then Ezekiel my half brother. I call Eunice and just talk and talk and talk. When I call I pull crazy pranks on her, then she says the next time she sees me she will whip me.
I remember Joe,Ezra he died,Dillard, Richard, I cant remember the names of the rest of Eunice's brothers.
I was there when Eunice's dad died and was buried on the property.
For the life of me I dont remember you.

My grand dad was John Lou Edgell and grand ma was Birdie Ella Atwell they, like you said they had 10 kids 2-3 boys died at real early ages. My dads name was Jiggs Algie Earnest Edgell. Lets see there was aunt Betty, Tilda, uncle Gerald,Harry, an aunt died in a car crash I dont remember the name. John and Birdie were teachers. That is the basic info that I have. Bye for now.

I have not got any Benjamin Edgells in my tree.All the Edgells I have were mainly Coal Miners in the county of Somerset, England in and around the villages of Holcombe, Coleford and Kilmersdon. Time span c1801- c1920. It is possiblethat there is a link but will need more information.

They had 8 children 1883-1901 of which I loose trace and cannot locate their deaths or child marriages. No further trace after 1901.

Elizabeth b oct-dec 1856 Coleford, married JOHN KINGSTON on jul-sep 1876 Shepton Mallet, Somerset. He was born jul-sep 1854 Shepton Mallet.

They had four children 1877-1887. No further trace after 1887.

Yes we have the same problem here in UK. Our last census was 1911 to view, only recently available and have tt rely on the BMD registers for modern dates. I meant to prune the list down but forgot and then just sent the file not thinking clearly (must have got up too early).

I probably can't be of much help unless you meant 18-- for most of the 19-- dates. In case you don't know it, the US Federal census is unavailable past 1930. The 1940 census will be available some time after 2012.

My earliest connection with the Edgell family is with Adam Edgell who married Jane Padfield in 1819. Both born around 1801 in Kilmersdon/Holcombe villages in the Frome district of Somerset.

My WIllcox tree does go back to 1602,but thru the Padfield family who were mainly farmers in and around the Glastonbury area of Somerset.

Good enough Dave. I guess I slipped over the coal miner information in your first post. There are a lot of Edgells in the US state of West Virginia and there is a lot of coal mining done there. I guess I should go though my Edgell census Word files and just search for Edgells who listed their place of birth as England.

As to help with Edgells in the UK, any of interest would have been in the 1600's and probably from Somerset. Does your information go back that far?

Do you know when they emigrated? I have transcribed all of the Edgells in the US Federal census years up to 1910 and some for the 1920 and 1930 years.

I have a few Edgell's who emigrated probably to USA or Canada and have been temporarily lost, is there anyone researching this name who can help. All my Edgell's were coal miners.

Hi.

I am Dave here in the U K North Norfolk. On my main family tree which is WILLCOX I hava also the families of the PADFIELDS and EDGELLS all three were in the Somerset area in the West Country of Britain. My Edgells run from about 1801 of which most were coal miners in the local villages of Coleford and Kilmersdon.
My tree has now been cast back to 1602 (Elizabeth 1 still on the throne Just) with some 4000 relatives and still going strong.
