Hi does anyone have any information about the egertons from northwich . My mother passed in 1966, but had a child adopted into the family i cant seem to find any info , possibly born 1954. really would love to find them as i have no parents now living

my grandmother was from north carolina. rutherford, greenhill, duram. im not sure of her parents name or her siblings. she was married to george burgan roberson. she passed in 1920,when my dad was only 2 years old. thanks

My great great grandma was a Matilda Egerton and I am trying to find any info at all about her ancestry. All I know is that she was married to my great great grandad who was Robert Mills and they were married in 1887 on 27th December in Bristol. Their children were Charles, Reginald Egerton and Albert Mills.

It was Charles Egerton who was said to have ran away to sea but he should still have been on a Census.

My name is Stuart Brennan, and I have been in touch with your husband Lawrence in the past.
My mum's maiden name was Mabel Egerton, daughter of Harry. I have never heard the story about Lawrence senior running away to sea!
You threw me for a minute because my Uncle Charlie married an Eileen but both are long since gone.
I suspect we will never get to the bottom of what happened with Joseph and Ellen.
Have you uncovered all the stuff about Ellen's family, the Lunds, and their American adventures?

I don't have your name,my husband Julian Lawrence known as Lawrence is the son of Lawrence(1908)who was the brother of Harry your Grandad.I wish I could answer your question but it seems strange I thought I had got my research wrong when I got the certificate,another mystery after 1861 I can't find them on any Census until Charles is married to Julia and am not able to find if Ellen re-married maybe my father in law was right when he said his father had ran away to sea as a boy. Yes your husband and I have the same ancestor
Charles' son Henry (Harry) was my grandad.
I don't know if you can answer one of the great mysteries I have encountered - Charles was born in Preston but the family lived in Salford, and on his birth certificate, his mum recorded father Joseph as "deceased", even though two years later she was living with him in Salford and he didn't actually die until 1866!

I am looking for descendants of Candido Calistro and Mary Anne Agnes Egerton. Mary Anne Agnes Egerton was orphaned in 1855. Her father was George Egerton("Bungal" at Buninyong Vic) and Bridget "Biddy Shearman". I am also a descendant of this family. Until quite recently we were not aware of any other siblings. I was born in Dublin as were my father and grandfather. Look my name up on Ancestry. My family tree page is under the name Albert Joseph Egerton but I use the name Berty on all official documents.

I don't know if anyone is still following this thread after all this time. I am an Egerton from Dublin and I have a fair bit of info in my family tree if anyone wants to look at it. You might find a common ancestor somewhere?

I am researching Mary EGERTOWN married to (James)Donald BROWN in Toronto Ontario circa 1920-29. They had at least two sons- one born Dec 18,1929 and a younger one David.Mary may have had 2 brothers with different surnames- Col. Alexander MENZIES and Allan JAMES. She immigrated from England to Canada between 1900-1927.

Very sketchy info I know but I am hoping for some help.

I'm not sure if you are still on here, but I am also related to the Edgartons. I'm from James' side. His father was Richard Edgarton II. His siblings are John, Dave, Mary, Horace, Sarah, and James. They are by his second wife. George, David, Irene, and Emily. These children are from his fourth marriage. I do not have any of the children coming from England. I have all the children being born in The Batavia, New York, area, or from Michigan. James had written a story with information about his father Richard II, siblings, and his grandfather Richard I.

hi...i am not related but i do know a little about thomas r egerton.

he married minnie j mclinton on sept 22 1887 at wallceburg ontario.

he was 25 years old and she was 22 years old.she was the daughter of john mclinton.he was the son of thomas egerton and emma.

i believe you will find that thomas is a descendant of the egertons of galt ontario.

if you contact ron dale who is listed on this board,he will surely help you with your research.

Amy Egerton (who married William Hodges Stapley) was about 33 years old (& a Spinster) at the time of her marriage to William in 1909, & she was the daughter (possibly eldest) of Julian Egerton, Professor of Music. Her trade was Dressmaker & she was born in the Westminster (London) area.

This could still help me in my research. Obviously, you're researching the Stapley side, but do you know anything about this Amy Egerton? I am trying to find out what happened to an Amy Bryant from Bristol, who in 1908, had an illegitimate son by Edwin Arthur EGERTON. I've found no record of Amy since 1908, and wonder if for some reason she took his name - I know they did not marry. Also, do you know how old your Amy was at the time of her marriage to William Stapley? Mine would have been around 19/20. Thanks in advance - Bev

The three boys were Abram DuBois Egerton 1881-1909; Robert Oscar B. Egerton 1884-1964 and Nicholas Kneass Egerton (my grandfather)1887-1952. John Bernard Egerton died in 1890.

The reason you may have lost track is they were in Jersey City, Hudson, New Jersey in the 1900 Census. Emma Gillen Egerton was there in 1900.

I have found a John Egerton (hairdresser) who married Jane Rowland in 1800 in Chester,also found baptisms in that name in St Chad Over.
My interest is about a will of Edward Rowland father of Jane ,John Egerton was the excuter of the will. A son of his Edward is my interest

Just to confuse things. In the course of my studies (I'm doing a one name study on Warburton) I've found 2 'ordinary' Warburtons using Egerton as a middle name.

Incidentally I found this post by accident as I googled for George Edward to complete my tree of the Warburton family of Arley for my website (google Warburton Surname Project).

If anyone wants to document the Egerton-Warburtons for my website they are welcome; I have enough plain Warburtons to keep me going for years.

Mary Alice Warburton was born 1870-1871 in South Australia parents Charles and Amelia Charles seems to be hard to chase. Family talk says it was Egerton Warburton but have no proof I have been getting tid bits of info from other peple searching Iam in Vic too

In the Biographical Index of South Australians Vol 4, p. 1670, there is only one Warburton listed, name of John b. 1854 Eng, arriving SA per 'Aldergrove' 1883. He married Lucy ??? b. 1859 Eng. They had two children; the first was Horace (nd), the second was George b 1880.
I can't find any connection between your Charles and the Egerton-Warburtons. There were 10 children born to the Rev'd Rowland Egerton, MA(Oxon) at 'Norley Bank', Norley, Cheshire, England. He was a son of Philip Egerton, 9th Baronet of Egerton & Oulton.
The good CofE Rev'd adopted the extra paternoma 'Warburton' by patent.
He and his wife Emma Croxton had 10 children. They were:
Rowland Eyles Egerton-Warburton, Esq (1804-1891)
Emma Egerton-Warburton (b. 1805)
Rev'd James Francis Egerton-Warburton, MA (Oxon) (b.1807)
Maj. Henry William Egerton-Warburton (b. 1808)
Frances Mary Egerton-Warburton (b. 1809)
Maria Sybilla Egerton-Warburton (b. 1812)
Maj. Peter Egerton-Warburton (1813-1889)
Charolotte Egerton-Warburton (b. 1815)
Sophia Egerton-Warburton (b. 1815)
George Edward Egerton-Warburton (1819-1889)

As previously noted, Peter and George both migrated to Australia. Henry was a Major in the 47th (Lancashire) Regiment of Foot. James became the Rector of Warburton Parish (Warburton being part of the family's estates through marriage and bequest). Rowland Eyles as the eldest son inherited the properties.
I thinks that's all -- if anything else pops up, I'll let you know.
