I hope all the great help is still around that may have information about Anna Charlotta Lindstrom:

At first I suspected that your Anna Charlotta Lindstrom [born 15 Sep 1845 in Rättvik, Kopparbergs län, Dådran, Sweden, and died 18 Feb 1917 in Elk River, Sherburne, Minnesota, United States] was a sister to our children's Great Grandmother, Margaret Lindstrom [listed as *Ersdotter, Margreta -Daughter (unmarried woman) b. 27 Mar 1875 in Ore parish, Kopparberg county , Kopparberg county ] on arrival 1882.

But after noticing the date of birth I realize that perhaps your Anna Charlotta Lindstrom is of one generation back, perhaps a relative of Margaret Lindstrom's father: Erick Lindstrom b:Mar 2 1842 Sweden d:1922 (at age ~80) in Elk River, Sherburne, Minnesota [ listed as: *Ersson, "Bond" Erik -Farmer (married man) b. 02 Mar 1842 in Ore parish, Kopparberg county]

But I cannot figure out the connection....the locations of their death in Elk river Sherburne, Minnesota indicates that they could be part of the same family.

Anyone able to connect Anna Charlotta Lindstrom b: 1845 Sweden to Erick Lindstrom b: 1842 Sweden for me?

Here is a tree on ancestry.com:
http://wc.rootsweb.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&d...

Name: Anna Charlotta Lindstrom

Event: Arrival Hull, England
Birth: 15 Sep 1845 in Rättvik, Kopparbergs län, Dådran, Sweden
Event: Departure 19 Maj 1871 Death: 18 Feb 1917 in Elk River, Sherburne, Minnesota, United States
Father: Lars LINDSTROM
Mother: Anna SODERSTROM
Marriage 1 Carl Olaf Eld b: 3 Mar 1845 in Brunflo Moder, Jamtland Sweden
Married: 21 Dec 1873 in Sweden
Children
Anna Matilda Eld b: 6 Jan 1866 in Näskott, Jamtland, Sweden
Karl Erik Hillerstrom Eld b: 3 Apr 1868 in Brunflo, Jamtland, Sweden
Olof Gustaf Eld b: 14 Oct 1872 in Brunflo, Jamtland, Sweden
Lars Olof Eld KARLSSON Karlen b: 1874 in Brunflo, Jamtland Lan, Sweden
Amalia Kristina Eld b: 1 Sep 1877 in Brunflo, Jamtland, Sweden
Brita Margareta Eld b: 6 Dec 1879 in Brunflo, Jamtland, Sweden
Anders Fredrik Eld b: 28 Nov 1881 in Brunflo, Jamtland, Sweden
Octavia Charlott Eld b: 11 Dec 1884 in Brunflo, Jamtland, Sweden
Oscar Waldemar Eld b: 7 Apr 1888 in Brunflo, Jämtland, Sweden
Esther Linnea STANDER b: 31 Jul 1895 in Sweden
Hello,
Thank you for replying. I would be interested in sharing what I have put together for a family tree. I know I had family still living in New Brunswick as late as the 1973 through one uncle of my father. I have not been able to find any information on other aunts/uncles or descendants.
How would you like to proceed?
Martha

Hello,
I have just started researching the Eld side of my family. My side lived in NH and I had relatives in MA as well. If you are still researching your tree, please look the connections I have made; if there are any similarities please contact me. I know very little about my grandfather and grandmother, and cannot find any info on any of the relatives that may still be in Canada.
My Uncle Arthur lived in Somerville, MA., and my Uncle Ron in Welsley, MA. I also had an Aunt Irene but cannot find any info on her.
Thank you.

Have you tried searching using the Genline geneology software?
If your ancestry is like mine -my maternal grandfather's surname was "Eld" but my great-grandfather's original surname was Andersson. He acquired the surname of "Eld" when he was in the Swedish Army.
Usually, if you search via the Genline, it will take you back beyond any name changes the ancestors may have made. On the Swedish church records I have for my Eld line, it shows my great-grandfather as Karl Eld-Andersson but once he arrived in America, he dropped the Andersson.

Have looked into the family and found several generations but need to verify my Ann but have not had the chance to go to the records office. He and his son Oskar or Oscar Waldemar Eld came to America via Canada and lived in Spalding, Aitkin, Minnesota Oscar Eld's son was Arnold Ellsworth Eld and Arnold's son is Alden Roger Eld, Alden's son is Thane Winfred Eld.
greetings Mrs Fraser,

many thanks for your reply on the geneology notice board. i've forwarded the information on to my mother in a hope that it will aid her research. Though i am not totally up to speed with how far she has progressed at this time, you can contact her at COOKSLAND@hotmail.com and she should be able to help/send a copy of her progressing tree to you re Eld's in the seighford area.
The only help i personally can give off of the top of my head is to link to this web page......

http://www.peterwestern.f9.co.uk/burke1/Royal%20Descents/eld...

then this one

http://www.peterwestern.f9.co.uk/burke1/Royal%20Descents/eld...

which gives the core of the line up till about 1817 or so.

hope this is all of some help :)

hope to hear from you again :)
all the best
Michael E.
Hi I have a great grandmother named Jane Elizabeth (Nee Eld) but I believe that either she changed her name to Eld or her family did as . She was a Palmer. The conection to Eld of Sieghford is only that . After marriage to Benjamin Simmond Lloyds they imagrated to Alberta Canada. and named their ranch Sieghford. I have been haveing a hard time locating Information about them before they left England in 1884, they were married in 1879 . and I do also know that they had Three children before they left England. one of which was my Grandmother Sara Gertrude (Married name Biddell)

Currently my Mother, Robin Eld is engaged in geneology research, trying to track down as many threads of the family history as possible. If any Eld's about know that they are related to the Eld's of seighford, i'd be really pleased to hear from you all. Trying to located all the historical threads is proving rather tricky.
I know who Steven B. Eld in CO is. He wrote an inquiry to my gguncle, Ray Forest Eld in Hanford CA, I have a copy of this letter, from Steven B. Eld Pres of Lindal Cedar Homes, 590 Orchard St. Golden , Co 80401, phone 278-9503. It must have been written in the 60's or 70's before area codes were used for phones. I was helped by him to locate ours, I am a distant cousin of his. My great grandmother was Florence Edna Eld Phipps, my grandmother her daughter, Ethel Edna Phipps DeBorde, my mother Linda Ann DeBorde Penley. Steven's research helped us to locate the ggggrandfather that we have in common, Carl Johan Eld (Elde) from Bredestad Jonkoping, Sweden, emigrated in 1854 with wife and 5 children. I am descended from his son Oscar Frederick Eld who is my gggrandfather. That has to be your husband's ancestor also.
In the letter, Steven writes, "My family is from Edespo, Sweden. An area nea Lake Malar. My great great grandfather, Carl Mangus (Magnus really) Eld, immigrated to Iowa in 1854 (really Henry Co, IL first with wife and 5 children, and Cedar Co IA by 1860)with wife and 4yr old son. Before that, unknown. After, most is available in detail." Indicating he has more to share. Ray Eld kept the letter and his sisters sent me information with a copy.
Please email me and I can send you a copy of my file.
Happy Hunting!
Sincerely, Victoria Penley

No doubt about it, most Eld's I've talked to are an odd lot. I'm Ron Eld Jr. and my father (Sr.) lives 2 towns away here in Ma. I have not seen or heard from him since I was 12, I'm now 48. He has another family and I have attempted to contact a half brother, no interest. As far as I can tell my family came to the US by way of Nova Scotia in the British military during WW1. From there some of the family ended up in NH and MA. I may be able to dig up some more detailed info. If anyone finds themselves at the MFA in Boston, MA - there is a portrait of John Eld (1700's?) a British philanthropist I believe. My father's brother was Arthur Eld (deceased) of Medford, MA. I have a brother Richard Brian Eld (age 46) of Brookline, MA. These Eld characters can get grouchy so be careful. Good luck all
