Hey Judy...clueless to a lot of my families heritage....curious..where family from??? Gotten different stories from where name originated from....Dad adopted at 2 by Richard Elijah....his birth name..Behrens?(dad) I have 3 brothers and tons of neices and nephews sharing our birth name (very possibly our real birth heritage..whos to say?: ) my reason for finding out more about the elijah name and heritage...please tell me more.....Wendy

Wendy, where is Richard Elijah from? My grandfather was from Clarence, Iowa, and his family had migrated from New York. We believe that they were originally from Holland. We have quite a bit of information about them that I will be happy to share if we find a connection with Richard...do you know who his father was?

Hi Judy! I know my Father was adopted by a Richard Elijah...who married my Grandmother Marie when he ws two..whether legit.. who ..they together had a son..my Dads 1/2 brother..David Richard Elijah. We lost Gndmother Marie when I was about 6..(I was born in 61) Marie had a sister named Fransis..who died about 6 years ago..Richard Elijah in my family....apparently..committed suicide..by carbon monoxide poisioning....somewhere in Chicago area..where..don't know of yet..but I'll ask around if seems like I should; )
