Elk/Elks DNA Project

I just wanted to let everyone know that I've been sorting throug the early NC and Virginia records and have established several different families, including two different Native lines, one of which I suspect is now defunct. In order to continue to establishe who is related to whom, I have set up the Elk/Elks DNA project which you can visit at www.familytreedna.com/public/elks

So far, we only have two members, both of whom descend from the John Elks (Mary Stroud) early Virginia line. These two individuals are from the group of his descendants who settled in Pitt Co., NC in the 1780s and 1790s.

If you are an Elk or Elks male or have an Elk male brother/cousin/uncle, etc, please consider testing so we can establish the various groups and hopefully connect back to the home group in the British Isles or whereever they are from.

Roberta Estes
robertajestes@att.net
