Am trying to track down the family of one ADOLPH ELKA/ELKE who was born about 1875 in Canada. Family later moved to Wisconsin, where they were living in 1880. Adolph's father was CHARLES Elke. I am trying to find out whether this Charles Elke was the same person whom I find living in Canada in 1851 - son of Charles and Sophie Elky.

If any of this sounds like it might be a connection I'd love to hear from you - jann@callaghan-cullen.com

I just responded to the old one. but have lots of info. again my sister Linda Fahrenkamp responded earlier. My dad has since passed. Adolf elke also Oelke info may be able to be found at Moravian cemetary Chaska MN. I am not sure but there is a Therese Lux who was an elke burried in st johns catholic cemetary in Jordan MN. you can email me if you like. i have lots of pictures also old. If it was adolf I am not certain but my great grandpa was named Herman. he might have been a brother or son. I need to weed through death records but I am uncertain. most death records are at moravian cemetary chaska or chaska MN records. or carver county mn records. I am interested in anything you find out anyhow as your story is a mirror of what i heard from my dad before he passed.

Hello, My sister Linda Fahrenkamp replied earlier. Since then My father has passed. I do believe that our Great,Great grandfather was Adolf elke originally spelled oelke. I have lots of pictures of the family (old) that I got from an uncle. there is also a Threase Lux of whom was an Elke. she is burried in the catholic cemetary in Jordan. St John's Catholic church. she may be the sister. there are many elkes buried in a cemetary in chaska minnesota. my great grandfather and many more it is the Moravian (spelling may be wrong) cemetary. if you have any additional information I would be interested or if anyone reads this post I would be interested in any elke/oelke information. I know that some of my relatives moved south and north. also florida and california in the 1800's. there is also a Bill or william elke who disappeared in Chicago area during prohibition. he would be my grandfathers brother. there is another elke brother that disappeared overseas during world war one. many avenues were exausted searching for him by his mother with no luck. more info for any one.
