In any of your researching, did you find a Robert P Elliot (one T) living in Syracuse? I am trying to find what happened to Robert P Elliot- he is located n the 1910 census in Syracuse, Onondaga County. I also found him on some of the Syracuse city directories 1914 and 1915. After that, he just disappeared. I know his wife (Rose) remarried about 1921 ad I have all her information. Just wondering if you had seen the name in any reocrds.. sure could use some help with Robert! Robert had a brther named John (who died in Watertown Jefferson County, NYS) and a sister Isabel who died of TB in Syracuse 1919. Her obit states she is survived by 2 brothers of Eastwood, but cant find any records of either brothers in 1920 in that area.. I know the brother John lived in Watertown. Really am frustrated by the fact I cant find Robert Elliot - my direct ancester!

Robert Philip Elliot b 1873 Scotland>Canada>NYS>unknown

I am looking for a Robert P. Y. Elliot. Middle names could be Philip Young. Originally born in Scotland about 1873, came to Canada in 1885 at age 14 ( with his older brother John and maybe another older brother Thomas) arriving on the Hanoverian Ship departing of Glasgow. Robert stayed a short time in Canada as a farm worker and was in central NYS by 1899. He married in 1900 in Jefferson County, NYS and was the son of Philip John Elliot (or John Philip Elliot) in Scotland. Robert and his wife Rose relocated to Syracuse, NY and I have him on the 1910 census in Syracuse, located him in the city directories of 1914 Syracuse as a painter/decorator of houses. After that, he disappeared - and his wife remarried and moved back to central NYS. If anyone has any records on a Robert P Elliot I would be most appreciative. There are a few Robert and Rose Elliot names on census records in Pennsylvania and New York City- but it is NOT them. I am looking for any help- it is possible that he went back to Scotland or even Canada or perhaps he remarried? I do not have access to those international records on ancestry. Thank you!

I am looking for a Robert P Elliot. Originally born in Scotland, came to Canada in 1885 at age 14 ( with his older brother) and landed in central NYS. He married in 1900 in Jefferson County, NYS and was the son of Philip John Elliot (or John Philip Elliot) in Scotland. After that, he disappeared and his wife remarried and moved back to central NYS. I have been looking for this Robert P Elliot born in Scotland circa 1873 for such a long time. The reason I am thinking there may be an Illinois connection is that I have found a record of a Robetr Elliot in the SS index of Illinois. Also, Robert Elliot sent for his ister Isabelle Elliot, and she endedup dying in 1919 of TB near Syracuse. In her obituary I did see that Isabell was survived by 2 brothers living in Eastwood- I wondered if perhaps this could have been Elmwood mistyped in the paper? If this may be the Elliot you are also looking for, connect with me via ancestry. Thank you!

Thank you. My great grandfather's grandparents are Clarissa Elliott and Joshua Bowen Curtiss. Great grandpa Arthur wrote stories about his great grandmother, Polly Elliot. I went to the Beech Hill cemetery and found her headstone flat on the ground with a few others. Hers was the only one I could read, after I pulled the grass off of it.
I agree with you on trying to get as much supportive proof of information as possible. Finding the actual gravestone helped a lot. Finding Deborah Elliott's grave site online was helpful also. I hope to get to Segar Cemetery in the next few months and find her, too.

I'm still trying to find any information on Helen Elliot my ggg grandmother born in Hartside, Castleton, Roxburgh, Scotland approx 1772. She Married James Rutherford and they had 12 children, Mary, John, Thomas, George, Andrew, Alexander, Ann, James, Robert, William, Adam and Henry. James and Helen went to the USA (Gouveneur) around 1832. I believe Helen died of cholera on the ship. I would love to hear from anyone who has info about Helen's brothers/sisters and parents or have a connection with this family. Children Andrew Huggan Rutherford, James, William, Henry and Adam also went to the USA. Happy to share any info I have.
Samuel Elliot

Hello,
I am wondering if anyone has any information on Samuel D. Elliot maybe born abt. 1800 (don't know where at this point) but married Betsey Morse per Barbour records of Windham Co. CT. 18 Sept 1825 in Canterbury, Windham Co. CT. She is the daughter of Charles Morse and Anna Bingham-Morse. Betsey was born on 15 Oct 1801 in Canterbury, Windham Co. CT, and I don't know when or where she died. The only thing that I have found is an 1880 census in Hartford, Hartford Co. CT but only with a daughter named Fanny. However, I don't think those are the right Elliot's. Can't find them in an 1850 census or for that matter 1860 or 1870. No where close or in different counties either...
So if anyone does know about this certain Elliot I would appreciate the inforamtion on him.
Thanks,
Melody

Hi - I am looking for a location and date for the death of Leslie Elliot, who was born in Ireland in 1865. He married Irene Cornelia Orpen in 1919 in Holburn. Irene Orpen died in Castlebar, Mayo in 1942 and it is believed that Leslie returned to London after Irene's death.

Hello.

Your message is extremely old but maybe, just maybe you are still researching. My husband is the great great grandson of Henry Francis Elliot and therefore the great great great grandson of William Henry Elliot. HF elliot had 4 children and one of them, Dorothy Noyes Elliot, had a Daughter, Amy (my husband's granny). We live in the UK and as far as we know are the only surviving relatives of HF Elliot (but maybe not of his siblings!)

We would love to know how you fit in and to know more.

We have tried very hard to get further back than WH Elliot but it is very difficult. As you may know he was born in St Austell and once you get past the official birth records of 1837 upwards, names like William and Elliot are pretty common and it is difficult to distinguish which one is him.

We think his parents names were William and Ann but that is all we have managed to find so far.

Hope to hear from you soon

Miranda Hungerford

I'm trying to track down my Elliott roots also. I'm ok back to a Wm. Elliott born 1796 or 1797 d 1842 who immigrated to Canada 1819 possibly from Ireland. Family stories abound. Above Wm. Elliott was the son of a Presbyterian? minister who went to Ireland with John Wesley and was supposedly the younger son of the First Earl of Minto. Are we connected in anyway and if so how?

Dawne

Is anyone researching Richard ELLIOT & his wife Mary CARBARY/CARBRY/KERBERY from Armagh, Co Armagh please. I have a daughter bapt 14 Dec 1842 R/C to Richard & Margaret ELLIOT nee CARBRY and also another possible daughter Elenn bapt 26 Oct 1845 to Richard & Mary ELLIOT nee KERBERY R/C Armagh. I have not been able to find a marriage for Richard & Mary CARBRY [many variations of the name] although I did get one from the IFHF site of Richard to Margaret MORRISON which is not the one I needed. Mary born 1842 emigrated to Australia about 1870. Any help on information on the marriage of Richard & Mary CARBRY or what other information may be available on the actual church record, including occupation, would be greatly appreciated. Thank you...Joan in Australia

I have recently received information from the Drumholm Parish, County Donegal which stated that Jane Elliott married Thomas Pearson, who was born July 18th, 1784. It may be possible that the marriage of Alexander Hyndman, 1784-1867 was a second marriage. Anyway, Jane Elliot and husband had 7 offspring- Elizabeth, George, Bevan, William, Elspy, Hannah and John. My interest is in John who married Mary Ann Fawcett , Ballintra Townland and emigrated to Smith Township, Ontario in 1826.

Need help with Elliott family of Kingsbury New York. I am trying to verify David Catlin Elliott is son of William Elliott and Amanda Catlin.
William b. 1785 d. Jan. 8, 1841 son of David Elliott and Deborah Eliot was married to Amanda Catlin whose children I believe are David Catlin b. 1807, Orange, Theodore, Micajah, and Polly. Amanda died April 3, 1810. William remarried Amanda’s sister, Keziah Catlin and had children, Lymon, Myron, and William.
David Catlin Elliott was not mentioned in William’s will but had moved to Kingsbury, Indiana in 1837 with Amanda and Keziah’s brothers and sisters: Arad Sprague Catlin, Theodore Catlin, Joseph Catlin and Sarah Catlin.

I'm looking for information on Mattie Elliot. She would have been my great great great grandmother. I found her in the 1900 Tennessee Census. Gives a birthdate of Feb. 1868 but no date of her death. Her husband was Joseph R. Ramsey 1864-1939. What I would really like to have is information on her parents. My grandmother told me Mattie's mother died on the trail of tears, and then had been raised by a Rebecca. My grandmother thinks Mattie's mothers name is Nancy Willingham but I cannot be sure. Because grandma also thought Mattie's name was Martha but maybe that was what they called her. After looking up her children I decided her name was Mattie

Thanks for your help!

Mark E. Notley

Apperson, at Park Place, yesterday, was one of the oldest and best known pioneers of Clackamas County. He was one of the first members of the Oregon State Agricultural Society, and was an officer of that body and a conspicuous worker in and attendant upon State Faire for a third of a century. He was also a member of the Oregon Pioneer Association, and until the infirmities of age prevented, attended regularly the annual meeting of that body. He was born in Knox county, Indiana, September 14, 1815, in 1836 he was a volunteer in the Florida War. He was married in 1838 to Miss Nancy Sconce, who died in January 1888. H e crossed the plains in 1846 and settled in Clackamas County, the part now known as Elliot’s Prairie, being named in his honor. Sanborn, of Portland and three grandchildren and two great - grandchildren.

I am not related. I am posting for research purposes,
Eellitta

William ''Bill" Elliot

Hi, I'm researching my great-grandmother's (Ruth Elliot Oaks) family tree and I need information about William "Bill" Elliot. From the info I've gotten, he was born in 1870 and married Mary Jane Hopson sometime in the 1890's or early 1900's. They had my great-grandmother's father, James Bert Elliot (more commonly referred to by his middle name) in 1905. I'm unsure how many kids they had altogether, but I plan to look into it.
This is where I need info. Supposedly, Bill wasn't really an Elliot. He killed a man in South Carolina and moved to Carter County, Tennessee and changed his name. If anyone has information regarding his real name and the truth of this, I'd be super appreciative. Thanks!

My g-grandmother, Martha Elliott, is a brick wall. However, I am wondering if anyone has any information regarding the Katherine M.Elliott, child of Lucinda Elliott, who was unwed when child was born. I somehow am trying to get information because I think my Martha was this child. Lucinda Elliott married a Reuben Underwood when my martha was 5 years of age. Thank you.
