I don't know what kind of genealogy resources there are for Macon Co, but have you looked for a will or probate? If land was involved one would think there would be something. How about an obit? If there is no local source you might try the Lincoln Library in Springfield. I have gotten obits from their newpaper holdings by writing to them. If you know when and where a person died the library will search an area's papers. Of course, there is a fee for this, higher if you are not an Illinois resident.
