David Ellis of Morley is mentioned several times in a manuscript book of about the mid-19th century. I don't know more that that, other than the fact he may well have been involved with church or chapel in a musical capacity, and was a composer of church music. There are two Davids mentioned in 1841 and 1851 censuses, one a shoemaker age 25 in 1841, the other a cordwainer age 36 in 1851. These are probably one and the same person, but has anyone found him mentioned in any other source? Thanks!
