His childred are listed as Alfred M (20) James B and Rachel M (both 8).
I am from that line of Ellison's. Sadie was my Grandfathers aunt. I believe Tommy King has it now, he is relation but I am kind of fuzzy on how. Last I knew a cousin of mine is renting the place. My Great Great grandfather Thomas Ellison had a Tomato Cannery there back in the 1920's. My mom even has a copy of tomato can label that she has framed and hanging in her kitchen. The tomatoes where branded as "Mason Springs Tomatoes" and the label is dated 1929.

I would like to correspond with you. My emmigrant Allison was William (1810-1866) who came from Killeter near Castlederg in County Tyrone to Canada in 1847 and stayed on land owned in Toronto by Andrew Allison( son of James Ellison and Eliz Sproul of Tyrone, NY). My william later moved to Essex County in Ontario and lived near his brother Hugh Allison (1797-1869) and his wife, Ellen Sproule (both born near Castlederg in County Tyrone. I have not been able to establish the exact relationship between my William and Andrew - son of James & Eliz of NY, but suspect they were cousins.

There is an Ellison family bible for sale on ebay (I am not the seller). It has information on a multitude of Ellison's starting before 1728. It looks like most might be from England, but there is also mentioned Robert Ellison born 19(?) Jun 1765 and Elizabeth his wife, died at Norfolk, Virginia 3 Sept 1787. Other names are Barker, Henry Ellison, John Ellison. Hope this might help someone.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Rare-HOLY-BIBLE-1726-owned-COLONIAL-...

Linda

I am trying to solve a mystery and hoping someone can help me that is also Ellison family.
Asa B. and Elizabeth McCullough Ellison is supposedly buried in Jackson Cemetery aka Berlin Cemetery. According to the Iowa Tombstone Project a picture has been posted stating this is where they are laid to rest. I have been in touch with the cemetery keeper who has owned the records for 29 years.. On the records it states there is a stone in the cemetery with the above mentioned but nothing about where they are laid to rest in the cemetery. He has walked the cemetery twice and can not locate the stone anywhere. Does anyone happen to know if this really is the place they are laid to rest and have they actually seen the stone in the cemetery.

I found one article on "Genealogy Bank" in the historical papers. The info came from a Prince Edward Island, Canada newspaper. Someone was looking for a George Ellison and his last known whereabouts on May 21, 1921, he was about 70 years old and living on a ranch near Hoquiam or Aberdeen, Washington. There were lots of info on a "George Ellisons" but most of them had different middle initial. Do you happen to know what his middle name was? Wished I could help you more. My mom is a Ellison, most of her kin is from Iowa, Missouri, Virginia and Ireland.

i do have also this info, Pearl is the one who is really confusing me. In In her father's obit she is Cross (she was married to Fred Cross, who is buried in the Jackson Twp aka Berlin Cemetery) but in her brother's obit she is a Miller from Des Moines. The person who also told me she was in Des Moines in a Nursing home is now deceased and has been for sometime. I have been to the cemetary as Thomas and wife Elizabeth, and a child that died in infancy, and a couple of their other kids are buried there, Charles and Minnie, as well as Asa and Elizabeth. Thanks though, Debbie

I do not know how much family info you have but I have had very good luck thru the obits of other family members.

Listings of the surviving Bros & sisters, etc often give new married names for the sisters, where living etc.

If a sibling is listed in parents obit, and/or say brother dying in 1925 but not the later ones you have a starting point to search for their death date.

Asa Benilah Ellison, Jr 1851 - 1934 m. Nancy Eliz McCullough July 19, 1873 in Douglas Co, Mo. She was b. 1859-d.May 17, 1944. They are buried in Berlin Cemt, Oswasa, Hardin Co. Maybe Pearl is in same cemt under Cross or another married name (with family)?

Fred Cross obit ? - Wife survive or predeceased.

Charles Milburn Ellison b 1875 d. 1956
James Robert Ellison b. 1876 d. unk
John Wilburn Ellison b. 1879 d. 1925 Hardin Co
Thomas Rose Ellison b.
Re: Looking for Sally Mae Ellison

This is where your question is confusing. Is Sally Mae Ellison her maiden name or her married name?

My guess is that it is her married name as I do not find a Sally M or Mae Ellison in AL b. abt 1923

OK, now I checked the SS Death index and I think I've found her which you said you had her SS info:
Sally Ellison b. 13 Sep 1923 d. 30 Oct 1998 in Los Angeles
card issued in AL before 1951

What you should do is order her Social Security application form. I print off the SS-5 letter. The SS-5 letter requests the copy of her original Social Security application form which she filled out and listed her parents' names which will also tell you her maiden name . I think it costs $27 and takes about 6 wks to get. Once I know her maiden name I can work on the census.

http://www.rootdig.com/ss5/

Rootsweb.com used to have the SS death index and the ability to print off the SS-5 letter but I can't find it on there now.
http://www.rootdig.com/ss5/
Let me know if you have any questions.

I have not been able to find out very much information on this side of my family. Or on my father's mother's side of the family. My grandmother's name was Minnie LouElla Stell-Ellison. She died when my father was a young child. I would really appreciate any information you could provide. I know that I have a lot of female cousins in the Rome area. My father's brother Freeman had at least 5 daughters that I know of. Would love to be able to get in touch with them. I have recently moved back to the Rome area from Washington state. We had moved to California when I was around 3, so had lost touch with a lot of family members on the Ellison side. I look forward to hearing from you. Ann

Was Ellison her married name? If so, do you know her maiden name?

She passed away October 30, 1998 in Los Angeles, Ca. When she passed she was using Sally Mae Ellison. My grandmother told me that my Sally's mother passed away either during childbirth or while she was very young. I don't believe there was an obiturary written for her.

I'm assuming that she passed away...? Where, when and under what name? an obituary could provide more clues...
