Hi John

Think we have been in touch before - trying to working out the Emerson links. My main Emerson connection is with Thomas who was of New House when he died in 1801. His son Thomas m Jane Vickers. Still have not found where Thomas snr was born, but did find a ref that his father was John.

Interested in the Thomas who married Jane Watson to see if these Emersons link together somewhere further back. My main interest in this couple has been the Watsons, as I think Jane's brother Thomas is one of my direct lines

Cheers

Jenny
Hi Kerry

I have various Emersons in my tree, but mainly with ones I have puzzled over is Thomas Emerson who died 1801 and was of New House when he died. Think he was born 1724, but I do not know where he was born or was married to. I think but not sure that his father was called John. His son was Thomas b1868 of New House Weardale married Jane Vickers. This is my direct line

The other is also Thomas, but the Thomas who married Jane Watson 4 Jan 1797 and who his parents were etc. Jane's brother, Thomas Watson is another of my direct lines

It would be great if you are able to shed any light on these.

Cheers

Jenny

Hi Phillip

I am looking into the Emmerson names as my great grandmother was called Isabella Emmerson who lived in South Shields. She married William Roberts in 1895 and had 9 childrent one of which was my nana. She died quite young at 42 with cancer. I have just found out that her father was called James Emmerson and her mother is Mary but don't know her maiden name. I am trying to find out her maiden name to go on further. If any of these names ring a bell with you please let me know. I think Isabella was born in Harlepool, but lived in South Shields.

Regards
Lynn

Emmerson Family Tree

Recently long with my father we have started tracing the family tree for Emmerson.

I have learn't through alot of birth, marriage, death, baptism and divorce certificates, alot about the family.

On my grandad's side of the family i have traced right back to his grandfather John Emmerson and i am really keen to find his four missing brothers.

John Emmerson from Beverley? Was one of seven. I know from talking to family that one brother died, and one emirgrated to Austrialia. I have also learn't that the Emmerson family trades were either fisherman, farmers or farm labourers which explains my father's love for boats and my brothers love of farm animals and this knowledge has been past down through generations of the Emmerson family line.

If Sulcoates, Hull, Beverley or Durham area, has any connections with anyone in the Emmerson Family line, please get in touch i would like to hear from you.

Doesn't matter how small the information is, it would really help with my search!!

I recently visited their Monument/Headstone in Ellis Chapel Cemetery, wister, Ok. I believe the Largest Headstone in the Cemetery. Anyway, Very impressive. I do not have any pics of them to share with you but sure wish that I did have. Considering all the children they produced, would really loved to have known them and all the family. My Father was also born in wister and his mother in Kully Chaha, ind Terr 1885.
Please let me know if you locate any pictures or other information you could share. If you have any questions I have done a lot of research thru Ancestry.com but no longer a member since I thought any further research would be in vain.
Take care and best wishes
Dean Emerson
Now living in North Texas

Emmerson of (East) Boldon, Co Durhan, UK

Looking for information on the Emmerson family of Boldon in Co. Durham, England. In particular the birth or baptism of Frances Emmerson and the names of her parents.

I have Frances Emmerson who married Peter Fenton on 20 July 1828 at St Nicholas, Boldon, Durham, England. Their children, John c1830/1, Robert 1832, Elizabeth 1837, Robert 1840 and Peter 1843, were born in East Bolden and baptised at St Nicolas.

Frances' year of birth could be anywhere from 1793 to 1811.
Census:
1841 - age 44, living with husband and children in parish of Boldon.
1851 - Head, Wid, 4? (could be 40, 41 or 48 - not clear), Ag lab, b. Boldon Durham. Living in Whitburn with 3 youngest children.
1861 - Head, Wid, 57, Char Woman, b. Chapel Wardell, Durham. Living in Whitburn with youngest son.
1871 - Inmate, Wid, 60, b. Sth Shields, Cripple. Not sure what institution she is in, but guess it is a Workhouse.

Frances died on 13 July 1877 at the Union Workhouse, Westoe, listed as age 67. As you can see from the census and her death, she had a different age and birthplace on each record.

We have found that there were no Fenton births in the Boldon area at the time that her husband Peter would have been born, but there are a number of Emmerson/Emerson's recorded. We are hoping that someone can match Frances with one of these Emmerson/Emerson families.

Anu help would be greatly appreciated.

Diane
Australia
http://dianefentontree.tribalpages.com

I see you have a Joseph Emmerson who married Hannah Fairless. According to records they married 1809 in Weardale. Do you know who the mother of Hannah Fairless was? I have a Hannah Robinson of Hawkwellhead, Weardale, who married Joseph Fairless in 1779 at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Stanhope. I was wondering if this Hannah could be their daughter. I have not been able to locate any children. Thank you.
Regards,
Evelynn

Can you tell me if there were more Emmerson pictures, or just that one? Would you mind emailing a copy of this photo to me? My Emerson part of my tree, is a little bare. My sister-in-law moved from KY to TX and lost most of her Emerson pictures. (I know it doesn't have anything to do with this, but maybe if somebody finds them, they will see this message.)
Thank you,
Suzanne Emerson Christie

Roberta H. Emmerson, 6 mo. old -- photo

I went to a local flea market, in Springdale, AR, and purchased a photo that reads, "Roberta H. Emmerson, 6 mo. old".

I am in no way related to the Emmerson family, and cannot answer any questions pertaining to them. I simply want to reunite an old family photo to the rightful family. I will gladly send to the person who requests it first, at no cost, the original photo. For all subsequent persons who request I will send a clear copy via email. Please email through Ancestry for reply.

The flea market owner told me that the lot of photos I looked through were purchased along the Kansas/Colorado border if that helps anyone.

They start with Joseph Emmerson 1703 to 1773 and wife Mary Robson.
Perhaps it would be easier if you could give me the names you have and I could see if they are part of my tree then if so, I could fill in some blanks for you.
Best regards
Kerry
