Tracy, I am researching the England family from Macoupin Co. Illinois and I have extensive information on this line. At one time, I was in contact with Jim "Jiggs" England of Carlinville and Alberta England Kates of Texas. Both are long deceased, but I gained a good sum of information from them back in the 1990s. Please contact me, it would be nice to know how you are related to the Illinois England family.

BBCrain, I am searching Joseph England of Marion County, IL who was also at one time living in Tennessee. This (his) branch of Englands moved from TN to IL in the 1830s/40s. Also, your William B. England was married to "Cloe" Pike. I might have some old papers on your family as well. I would like to know if you have some death information on William B. England.

My aunt has in her possession a tintype of a young lady sitting with two young girls. All that she remembers is that the last name of the lady is England.

My gr-gr-grandmother was Francis Rachel (England) Lundy. However, Francis Rachel England and my gr-gr-grandfather Thomas Lundy only had two sons so I do not think it is likely to be Francis Rachel England in the tintype.

I wonder if the lady in the tintype may be of my gr-gr-gr-grandmother Caroline (Meyers) England b abt 1838 Claibone Co TN, who md Ezekiel Ellison England b 1834 d 1864 Andersonville prison, with daughters Francis Rachel and Sara Elizabeth.

Can anyone help identify these inidviduals?

I can provide a scanned image of the tintype if anyone is interested.

Thanks,
Dennis
England Sheneman connection America England

The book Early settlers of of Sagamon county, says that Jesse England had a daughter named America E. she married Isaac J Sheneman (Sherman in the book). The census of August 15, 1860. shows that Cyrus B. Sheneman (Sherman in the book), had a daughter named America E. age 4, so born approx. 1856. She seems to have dropped the name America and gone with Ella, she was my great, great grandmother. Any information would be great appreciated.
The two gentlemen seem to be brothers. I have an autograph book of Ella's with signatures and dates. I find one that says "Your Aunt, America Mott. No where can I find Ella with the name America after the 1860 census.

Hi. I'm not sure if this helps or not, but my grandfather was part cherokee and his name was William Thomas England ( he went by Bill). His father, my great grandfather was also cherokee and his name was William Goebel England. Now I know for a fact my great great grandfather was full blooded cherokee and his wife died very young also. But I'm not sure what his name was. I'm looking to find out really soon. My aunts all talk of how he wore the complete head dress and everything. My Aunt Betty Pulver could help you out tremendously on who he was. Her email is Bbop2u@aol.com if you want to contact her. Just tell her that her niece Jennifer gave you the email. I hope this helps you out some.

I'm 18 years old and I have a civil war sword with the name Levi England on its blade. I'm pretty sure we are talking about the same person.

My grandfather by the last name of Eason, tells me it belonged to his father, Raymond D. Eason, who was born in the early 1900's. I have been curious where the sword came from, who Levi England was, and why my family has Levi England's sword. All I know is that it is a sword from the Knights of Pythias. http://www.pythias.org/about/about.html

I will upload some pictures I took of the sword with the engraved name on the blade.

Perhaps we're all related?

My father was Sydney Ernest England, and my grandfather was Alfred Isaac (born 7th July 1887)son of Albert Isaac and Rosalie and obviously brother to William.
Its seems we must be cousins about 3 times removed.
My father married Maisie Muriel Spiers in 1943, and had 6 children, Jane, James, Susan (thats me) Sally, Clive(deceased) and Marie. We migrated to Australia in 1958, although Jane and Marie travelled back and met husbands and now live in the Uk, 3 of us are still in the land of Oz.
Hi
My great grandparents were also Albert Isaac and Sophia Rosalie. My grandfather was William England who married Nora Loveder. They had three daughters Audrey Augusta, Joyce Rose and Brenda Mary. Joyce married George Dobson who had two daughters Ann and Nora (that's me). I am married to Brian Holmes and we had one son Steven who is married to Vicky and they have two daughters Ayeisha and Chloe.
It looks like you have done more on the Englands then I have - I have been trying to go back on the Wallbridge line, trying to sort out the Daniel connection. My sister and I went to Beaminster last week to visit the 'family' burial ground - not that I'm thinking of claiming my place there yet!
So where do you fit in ?
I have attatched a photo of Albert Isaac and Sophia Rosalie - don't you just love those old pictures!
Nora

Her birthdate was incorrect and the names she was given on the court docs were slightly altered - everything to make the search harder - but accomplished and have a full tree if anyone is interested - Casteel, Johnston, England

Hello, I am looking for information on my grandfather Leroy England who was a barber in Weyburn Saskatchewan and a banjo player in a barbershop quartet on the Vaudeville circuit around 1915. He had a number of recordings which I am trying to track down. I am also trying to find out about his mother who was apparently a Mohican. My father Leslie Leroy England was born in Griffin Saskatchewan in 1918 (I think). Thanks very much for any leads on this. Best regards, Sarah England

I have limited knowledge of my great grandparents. I know that they are both of Cherokee descent. My great grandfather's name was Bill (not sure if William), but do not know my great grandmother's name. She apparently died at a young age and may have been full-blooded Cherokee. I know three of their children's names - Herman, Fred, and Irene. If anyone is related or has information I would appreciate any knowledge that you can share.

I've been working on an extensive Family Tree to include descendants of people buried in a small Quaker Cemetery (Fairmount Friends Cemetery) just south of Alliance, Ohio, near where we used to live. While I was researching the descendants of Martha Brosius & her husband, Emmor England, I stumbled across your message. If you look for the "Descendants of The Fairmount Friends of Alliance, Ohio" Tree you will find this family there and several generations back for Martha Brosius England. If you find any errors, please let me know.

Thank you for all of your work in photographing the cemeteries and posting your photos of the gravestones.

This headstone is for my great uncle (Isaac Jefferson England). The headstone was updated later after his wife (Nancy Leona) passed away.

As a result of your work I was also able to find photos of the gravestones for his daughter (Beulah Margaret England and husband, Stanley C. Baker), his granddaughter (Margie Ferol Baker and her husband, Ray Ybarra Valle), and his great grandson (David Ray Valle), which has helped tremendously in my genealogy research.

I've traced the family two more generations, but I have not been able to find any contact information for them. I think they are still living in the Fort Worth area, but that's the extent of my information.

Tim,

In your researchs have you found any data on Albert W. England b. around 1848-1850 son of James and Nancy Crawhorn England. I have no records of him other than a marriage date of Feb 08, 1872 to Margaret Rachel Sparks. They moved to Texas around the Waco area

I do need to say here that the Englands, Sparks' and Henager's are my husband's Grandmother's family.

I do have records of Margaret Rachael Sparks who was the mother of Charlie Willis England. Charlie was born April 7 1872. She later married Henry Hamilton Roach and they had 5 children.

I find Charlie first in the 1900 census living in Coryell Co. married to Nanie Belle (Henager) 1 year having 1 child.

1920 Census finds him living with Henry H. and Margaret Roach with his 5 children.

He (Charlie) later remarried to Effie Henager who I believe was Nanie's sister. They had 3 children. Effie died sometime between 1920 and 1930.

Charlie married a widow Mrs. Emma C. Littelfied and was counted in the 1930's census as Charlie's wife with the 3 children of Effie's.

This seems like a bucket of worms to me. I had my husband's Grandmother tell me about her family, who her parents were, her grandmother and all the Roach aunts and 2 uncles she had. Effie reared her as Nanie had died shortly after Granny was born. She did not respect Charlie or his 3rd wife but loved Effie as a mother very much.

Granny was born in 1908 and died in 2000 at the age of 92.
She had 2 children and only my mother-in-law survived to adulthood.

I finally located my old files--
Census lists Sarah Ann (later Hatley), David, Joseph, John and Thomas Jefferson. For a time, these orphans were under guardianship of greataunt Nancy Yous/Yoes.
Joseph's parents were William Carrol E. and Rebecca T Reese, married in IL in 1844.
Wm C was oldest of 6 children of Wm David England and first wife Elizabeth. (David Rudolph was born to his second wife Natalia).
Hope this helps. Feel free to contact me directly at kenney@uark.edu.

Searching for an Anna England (her married name.) She had two sons, Orville, and Edward, but they can't remember the
name of her husband. She died abut 1916, and probably born
about 1900 in Illinois. That's all the information I have
on her.

Carol McBain

Re: Sarah England Akehurst- OH, IL, MO

Janet
I have a David A Akehurst who was married to Anna Bennett. This is not my family per say but by marriage of Anna's daughter Maude who was married to my great grandfathers brother Hardin Hudson. Hardin and Maude had a son Bailey Hudson born 1909. Maude passed away 1910 Hardin remarried to a Irene Marquardt and Hardin passed away 1913. Bailey was raised by his step grandfather and Anna according to census records. We have since found his children and the stories they tell was that he was quite fond of his Aunt Hattie who was Maudes sister. The reason for writing is I am looking for any information that might lead to descendants off the Hudson line by Bailey's Aunt Rutha Lee Hudson Bailey.
