WORTH - WALKER

Looking for information on Frederick Worth b. 15 April 1874, possibly Sussex, England. Apparently had four brothers and a sister. In 1903, he joined the London Metropolitan Police force and was also married about the same time to "unknown". Had a daughter Daisy and the mother died during child birth. Daisy was looked after by Frederick's mother. He remarried on 25 July 1906 to a Mary Anne Eliza Gray, b. 22 Feb 1885 (Essex). Apparently they emigrated to Canada on their wedding day.
There is story carried through the family that Frederick left England in a hurry and may have changed his name from Frederick Walker to Worth. Any info appreciated.

England Genealogy Book 1680-1973

England Surname Searchers: Joseph England and His Descendants; a genealogy book compiled and written by C. Walter England in 1973. I have this book in my possession and can search within it's index if needed. Joseph England was born on Sept 02,1680 in Burton-on-the-Trent, Staffordshire, England. He and his wife Margaret Orbell, and their children, John, b. Nov 5,1711, Samuel, b. June 18, 1717, and Joanna b. Sept 29, 1721 came to America in 1723. Joseph purchased 500 acres of wooded land in what is now called Calvert, Maryland but was then called Brick Meeting House and was considered Nottingham Township, which was part of Pennsylvania. Many of his descendants migrated to other parts of the country, Nebraska, Ohio, etc. Although there were other England's that came to America during that time, this family is thoroughly documented within this genealogical compilation. If anyone needs a search done that would be within this family, I will do my best to answer their inquiries. For those interested, you also may still be able to locate this book at some Historical Societies, or in the National Archives. Regards - Gene

Wiley J. England - Henderson County, TN/Jefferson County, Missouri

I know there is a story somewhere here to uncover and thought I would post this to see if anyone had any information on this family.

In 1850 Wiley England is found on the census in Henderson County, TN in the 13th District.

W.J. England age 31 m Farmer 400 B. Tenn
Adeline 25 f B. Ala
Martha 8 f B. Tenn

In 1860 I find Wiley and his family over in Jefferson County, Missouri in the Valle Township. He either had a great sense of humor when the census takers came around or there is something going on here. He occupation is listed as a "Doctor" in Missouri. It is now...value of real estate - 3000 and Personal estate is 1500. I also believe the "Seney" listed is the "Margaret" on the 1860 census since the ages match and there has not been a Seney before.

Wiley England age 54 m Farmer 3000 1500 b. In 1880 James and Laura are living in the 13th district of Henderson County, TN with my great grandfather, Varney Jines. John England is living with them and is listed as James' Brother-in-law. There is also a couple of nieces that were born in Arkansas living with them that I have been unable to identify...Sarah F. Aron, age 8 and Eler Aron, age 7. The census says these two children's father was born in "Jurminy" (Germany??) and their mother was born in TN.

If anyone has any information they could share with me on this family I would so appreciate it. You may email me at fayrita@aol.com or post here.

Hi all.
I was finally able to make it to the Family History Library. I found a set of documents recording the settlement of John England's estate. He names his wife as Jane England. Nothing new there. Patrick Davis was named as the administrator of the estate--Jane Davis' brother. It's not indisputable proof, but it's another link between the two families. I've uploaded scans of the documents and my try at transcription here: http://geocities.com/shannonlind/

I have hope that one of these days someone will find the proof we're looking for!

--Shannon

I was at the State Library today and found more questions than answers I think.
Found in the 1900 Census for Coryell County, Texas
Charlie W. England b. Jan. 1872 d. circa 1965 married
married 1) 1896 to Nanie B. Henager. b Feb 1880 d. 1907
Children were: Nora A. b july 1898 (this young lady may be Ada or a daughter that died before the 1910 Census)

Found in the 1910 Census for McLennan County, Texas
Children of Charlie W. England. ( Nanie died 1907)
Ada aged 12, Myrtle age 9, Floyd age 7, Virgie (Virginia) age 3
Charlie and the children are listed with Henry H. Roach and wife Margarette as Henry's step son and step grandchildren
Conclusion:(not fact yet) Charlie England's mother was named Margarette who remarried after Charlies Father died or she divorced him.
Question? Who is Margarette? To whom did she marry the first time?

1920 Census McLennan County, Texas
England, Charles age 48
wife Effie age 30
Myrtle daughter age 19
Virginia daughter age 13
Clayton son age 7
Celia Bell daughter age 5
Leroy son age 3

Does any one know who Clayton, Celia and Leroy married and where they went to? If any of their decendents are on line I would love to talk to them.
I noticed that Ada and Floyd are not part of the household anylonger. I know that Ada married a Mr. Edge and had sons Eddy and Sterling and a daughter. I know that Floyd married Lena Reed and had a daughter named Pauline. I also know that Myrtle married a Mr. Deason.
Virginia married 1, Lewis Graves Mansfield and had a daughter Violet and son Robert.
I have lots of pictures of these people.
I have been updating information on the family trees with information I have found on census records and from family trees. The England family from Monroe Co. is a very large family. William and Elisha England came here from VA. Elisha was my GGGGF. I have included any info that I have found. Some went to Missouri, Nebraska, Kansas, Texas and Oregon. I am still hunting but the trails are beginning to get harder. Just check back on the Family Trees if you are looking for an England from Monroe Co. KY and cannot not find them let me know and I will see what I can do.

Joseph England and Mary Reed

Joseph England, born 1776 in Maryland. Moved with sister
Prudence England (possibly with the Logsdon family) to Hardin
County, Kentucky where he married late 1790's to Mary Reed of
Virginia. They moved to Tennessee and on to Illinois (Marion and
Greene Counties), then to Callaway County, Missouri,
where they presumably died 1850-60. Some of their
children went to Davis Co., Iowa, and from there west to
Oregon and California. Among Joseph and Mary's children
were David (Marion Co., Ill); Joseph (to Kansas); William
(to Oregon); Riley and John (to California); and James (to Missouri).
Two daughters, Nancy and Elizabeth) I do not know what became of.
Also possibly a son Benjamin who died in Illinois in Marion or Greene
County.
Does anyone know of Joseph's parents, siblings, etc. Or what became
of son David. David had a son named William who is last known in
Marion County, Ill. Thanks Tom. I descend from their son, Riley Jackson
England who married Susan Isabelle Adams.

There is so much misinformation floating around about John's parentage that I'm considering hiring an Irish researcher to see if actual documentation can be located as to birth/parents/immigration. Before doing so, I'd like to know if anyone else has tried this and what results were obtained. I sure don't want to pay someone to duplicate efforts that have already been done. Either post here or send me an email at Mousecook@earthlink.net.

Robert, Ann, Sarah Rodgers

Looking for information on Robert and Ann Rodgers, parents of Sarah Rodgers. Family in the Compton Dundon, Somerset England 1861 Census show Sarah, Samuel, Joseph, George, Elizabeth and Isaac, along with their parents Robert and Ann. Marriage records for Sarah show she married Frank John Norman in York, Ontario, Canada on May 7, 1871. They were married at the home of Betsy and Samuel Rodgers, Sarah's older brother. Lizzie, the oldest of Frank and Sarah's children, was born in Canada. I next find them in the 1880 London, Monroe, MI census with Lizzie and Fred and then in the 1900 Detroit census with Fred and Rosina (Rose), who is my ggrandmother. Sarah Rodgers was born on Jan 27, 1853, Frank John Norman in 1848 and Rosina was born on Apr 6, 1881. I have been unable to find the dates of death or burial places for Frank and Sarah. Any information on any of these people would be greatly appreciated.

CROWDER - England to America 1660 - 1760

I am searching for "CROWDER" who left England for the Americas between 1660 - 1760. Especially interested in Crowders who came in 1668 to 1673 from the Wiltshire area.
The name could be spelled in different forms due to dialect.
Any record with a connection to this surname is needed if that record has refference to our American Crowders. Thanks, Patricia (Red Hat Lady) http://crowderancestry.com/book.html

Delia Ann England born 07 Jan 1877 in Monroe Co., KY and died in Los Angelos, CA on 05 Aug 1950. She was buried in Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Glendale, Los Angelos Co., CA. I would like to know what her obit. says about her children. She had 3, Elmer Henry c. 1901, George c. 1904 and Clarice May c. 1908. I think I located Delia and her children in Texas on the 1930 census. Elmer and George were in Freestone Co., TX and Clarice May was in Dallas. Delia was in
Navarro Co., TX. I think that Elmer died in OK. Want to know where her children were when she died and if she had anymore. She is my GGF's neice and we do not know that much about her. Thanks.

Sarah Elizabeth England Ashton and Joseph and Sarah England

Hello, I am attaching a photo (apparently a wedding) of a church (possibly the Congregational Church in Pontypridd Wales)and was wondering if anyone can identify the people in it?
I am posting this to the England site because at about the time the photo was taken, my great grandmother Sarah Elizabeth England Ashton and her sister in law Sarah England along with their toddler sons returned to the United States from Wales or England. I am assuming that the photo is from that event. Great Grandma's brother and Sarah Englands husband was Joseph England. Great Grandma's son was Bramwell and her nephew was Joseph.

Thank you,
Diane Sparling
