I'm planning on doing some more research soon. Have you found some more information since you began your research? His son, Arthur Langford Thayer is my Great Great Grandfather.
- Hannah Simms

There is a branch of the ENOS family that stayed in Oneida County. Oneida/Oswego were 1 county in the early years?
I believe my family tree has an Elizabeth Enos who I believe was a Wilson. Her son, Thomas Enos has a son, Thomas Enos still listed in the US 1900 Census Oneida Whites Township NY. I would very much like to correspond with others searching this surname in the area. Thanks.

Manuel Enos m. Emily Silva

I'm searching for Manuel S ENOS, b. 1871 CA who married Emily Josephine SILVA, b. 1875 in Hayward, Alameda Co., CA, the daughter of John Silva, b. Azores, possibly Sao Jorge. Emily had sisters, Carrie, Nora, Mattie, and a brother, Louie (Lewis?) Silva, b. June 23, 1867, CA d. 1945 in Siskiyou Co. CA. His wife was Maude BRANDSTATTER. Louie was a train engineer and lived in Dunsmuir, CA. Emily in later years married Frank Enos SILVERS, reportedly to be Manuel's brother. I have no info on Manuel, but Frank's death certificate lists his father as Manuel Silvers, b. Azores, and his mother as Isabella Silva, b. Azores. Manuel and Emily's children were Carrie, married Albert Robert ROLLIN; Fred, married Lenore; Lillian, married Bert PLANT; Edward Louis, married Alice Anderson and Deolinda (Dee), married Paul PETERSON. Are any of these names familiar to you?
Faustene
Hello Fred,

Sorry to butt into the conversation like this, but, as my post from last year says, I am looking for the predecessors of Susan Enos, my great grandmother. All I know so far is that she married an Alexander Belleville ca. 1880 since that is about the year she had my grandfather, Edward R. Belleville in Illinois. She was identified by two of her children (my granddad and his sister) but I cannot find her or her kin anywhere in any record or tree. Any chance you have come across her? Thanks.

Don Perryman
dwperryman@earthlink.net

If Susan bore children in he 1880's this would likely put her birth date well after 1799 as you stated earlier??

In a scrap of notes I collected years ago I found a Daniel Enos, b. 1801 NY m. Francis ? b. PA c. 1828; desc include Diana, Irene, Laura, Ann, Napoleon, Sylvester, Mary b. 1844, Phoebe, all appear to be in PA, but not certain. Have no other information on them but I Napoleon is documented elsewhere by other searchers.
Jim

The only Susan Enos I have was born 1871 in Jasper MO

Have you checked Sangamon Cnty IL? There was a large family of Enos there but no known relation to the large family of (my)Enos line in Macoupin Cnty who moved there fron TN about 1855-60

If Susan Enos was b. 1799 in NY she very well could be in the work "The Eno and Enos Families in America" by Douglas Richardson. Have you looked there?

Jim

If you do not have it I suggest you pull a copy of Edward R. Bellevilles birth certificate. I tried to find it online but all the scumbags there so far want to charge for it.

Also if you can find a copy of the 1860 census to check for his family. apparently the 1850 census has not been transcribed, so you might find a film of the original documents at your local Family History Library (LDS), usually very helpful people.

Jim

Hello,

My greatgrandmother was Susan Enos who married Alexander Belleville (b. 1848) in time to have my grandfather, Edward R. Belleville in 1880 in Illinois. That is about all I know so far about her. Any chance your info has her in it so I can find parents, etc.? Thanks.

Don Perryman

The Joseph Enos that I have the Bible for I believe was born in the state of Delaware. My Enos originally came from England I believe. I think they were in Rhode Island, Mass, New York, Conn, etc. in the beginning. They ended up all over everywhere, but mine were mainly in Indiana, Ill, Ohio, Mich, and around that area. I live in Indiana. My 5th g grandfather was Stephen Enos that was married to Hannah Vandegrift.

Looking for information/family history on Hanna M.Enos who owned a ranch in or near Jackson Hole, Wyoming c.1900. My father (Raymond Gustavson) said the author, Owen Wister, used to stay at this ranch in the summer. Hanna was my father’s aunt, and was last living in a small Nebraska town not too far west of Omaha when we visited her in 1956. Sorry, I can’t remember the town, only that Aunt Hanna was 80+ years old then, which would put her dob around 1875+-. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
