Yes, but I couldn't find all of my stuff. It is not much anyway. Anna's daughter Katharina was born in 1850 in Skorzewo, district of Kartuzy. These are the Polish names of the towns. At that time it was Prussian, so the province was called West Preussen, the district Karthaus and the town name stayed Skorzewo. A couple of years later, it became part of Germany. The town is rather close to Berend, or Koszyrnyza, I believe, that's what it's called today. And yes, it is a kaszub area.

You should try to find out more from your inlaws, this has been a very hard name to research...

regards,
Andrea

Researching my family I deal with polish, german and kashuby family names. The only name I just can't place is my great-grandmother's grandmother. She was married to Andreas Polczynski, an old kashubian name and she was Anna Eron. Is that french, spanish, jewish, I just don't know. What was she doing up there in Skorzewo(close to Danzig) and where did she come from? Maybe anybody out there knows where that name "Eron" comes from.

Andrea Dickerson
