I am not familiar with the names. But I was able to generalize the area where some of my Escamilla relatives came from. Does Teran, Nuevo Leno, Mexico area sound familiar to you. My great grand father Francisco Escamilla was from there and married my great grandmother Adela Arguelles. I believe they were both born in the late 1800's.

This is a strange situation. My great grandmother, Sarah Louise Smith married a Juan Jose Vasquez about 1870, who was from Mexico, they had 4 children. After his death she married Francisco Escamilla, about 1885, who was from Texas and had 3 more children (my grandmother was one of those children). I cannot find information but have always felt that the two were somehow related. If you have any information I would really appreciate it.

Weird huh! Anyways I have always wondered who my distant relatives could be because for some reason I'm Pedro Escamilla III. Who knows I might be the 8th or ninth. So I decided to message you because I thought you might find it interesting and maybe there is some sort of connection? If you have any questions please reply. thanks!

There are also alot of Escamilla's in Mathehuala, SLP. My grandfather is from there Ezequiel Macias Escamilla. His father was Cecilio Escamilla. Somehow it is said that we are related to Alvaro Obregon (ex President of Mexico). It is also said that Alvaro Obregon could have been from an Irish Family the Obriens. I have been searching for information and I have had little luck finding a connection. But if you know anything about a Cecilio Escamilla or Eqequiel Esamilla let me know. :)

Pedro Martinez Escamilla (1959-2005) Obit

Pedro Martinez Escamilla, son, brother, uncle and good friend, passed away in San Diego on September 25, 2005, after a brief illness. Pedro was born March 14, 1959, in Tehuacan, Puebla, Mexico. Pedro moved to Salt Lake City to join his sisters in 1981at the age of 24. Pedro lived most of his adult life in Salt Lake City, but in recent years he lived in Las Vegas and San Diego. Wherever Pedro lived, he met people easily and quickly had friends from all walks of life. No place was this more true than in Salt Lake City. Regardless of the location or the situation, people invariably approached Pedro with a happy greeting. He was a kind and giving person who would do anything for a friend. The stories of his lifetime travels and experiences never ceased to amaze and amuse even those who knew him best. We already miss Pedro more than we thought possible, but the memories we share of our dear "Papi" and the things we've learned and gained from them will stay with us every day. Pedro is survived by his parents, Pedro Martinez Sanchez and Deborah Escamilla de Martinez, brother Andres Martinez Escamilla, sister Haydee Falcon, all of Mexico, sister Dora Ramirez of Kearns, Utah, extended family and many loving friends. A celebration of Pedro's life will be held between 5:00 and 8:00 p.m., Saturday, October 8, 2005, at The Groutage Gallery, 1058 East 2100 South, Salt Lake City, Utah. Please stop by and share memories of Pedro with others who knew and loved him. <br>Published in the Deseret News on 10/2/2005
