Looking for infor on Ernest Eskew born around 1880 and was supposively in WWI and lived in S.C. Also looking for info on his son J.P. Eskew born around 1911 and died in 1969 burried in greenville, S.C. and served in WWII, these gentlemen are suppose to be my great grandfather and great great grandfather, sorry i dont have much more info, my grandfather died when i was young and my grandmother doesnt know anything else besides what ive provided, any help would be great. thanks.

Does anyone have info on the death of William Frank Eskew, Sr.? He was born about 1911 and lived in Washington, Burke, and Richmond Counties in Georgia. He is mentioned in 1949 in the Augusta Chronicle notice of his daughter's wedding, but he is not listed as a survivor in his father's 1952 obituary. I cannot find an obituary for him, but there are several months missing from the Chronicle archives. I also cannot find a Georgia death certificate for him. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I have a Florence Eskew married Floyd B Hafferty in Corning, Arkansas on 15 Nov 1946 both of Corning, Arkansas. I believe this is the same one. Is this the Burl Smi(th?) Eskew born abt 1869 and died Nov 14, 1949 in Lawrence Co, AR?
I have 3 wives for Burl Eskew- Mary Ham, Anna Belle Davis & Myrtle Childs.

I believe this Burl Eskew was son of James Askew b Jun 17, 1813 Hancock Co, Georgia, died 6 apr 1870 chambers Co, Alabama, husband of Mary Elizabeth Lee, b abt 1830 Virginia, died abt 1880 Logan Co, Kentucky.

I have a Tommy Joe Eskew born Jan 20, 1937 and died May 4, 1996 in Bell Co, Texas. He lived in San Antonio, TX at the time. He is buried Ft Sam Houston National Cem, San Antonio, Bexar Co, Texas. He was son of Eugene Eskew.

He married Dorothy Marie Meadows on Jan 30, 1954 in McLennan Co, TX. They had one known son, Ronald Joe b 1955.

Hi, Thank You. My gr grandfather was Raymond Willis Eskew born Oct. 29,1882 died Feb. 1970. I believe he had 2 brothers G.W.(possibly George Wesley)Eskew born 1887, and Robert F. Eskew born 1894. I do not know of a second wife, but doesn't mean there wasn't one. I have Mary F Unknown for Thomas's wife, but the initial could easily have been in error somewhere along the way.

I don't know Joseph's children, but I did notice another wife for him--He had married Abby Lawhorn May 22, 1872, but she prob died bef 1908, as he married a probable widow, Thursy J Malone on Apr 28, 1908 in Marion Co, IN. She was of Marion Co, IN. She had 2 Malone children, Bertha M b abt 1896 and Omar F Malone, b abt 1893.

I have nothing else on this family.

Thank you so much for answering so promptly and for the information. I had checked these census but was not sure it was the right person. I found Joseph & Abigail on 1900 census, Lawrence Co. Ind.
Joseph age 46, B. Jan.1854, Abbie Eskew, 43, B.Dec.1856. & 3 children. On your 1850,1860 & 1870 census says he was born 1849. Also the 1900 census says they had 12 children and 6 living. Do you have this information. Do you know where Joseph or Abigail is buried? I cannot find a burial sight for them. Thanks again.

I don't know if anyone is still using this thread or not, but I have pictures of the family. William Carroll Eskew was my mother's g-grandfather on her mother's side. I have pictures of William, his home, several of Malissa, 2 of Marion, one of Sim and several of Tim and his family, and Williams's tombstone. My problem is I have the pictures but no other information. I am in a line from William & Malissa's daughter Susan Melvina, also have lots of pictures of her. Would be willing to share pictures for information. Oh Tim and his wife came to California to visit and have pictures of them at that time also in June of 1949.

The info I have matches.Eron married Nellie Moore from Vicksburg MS, They had 1 daughter ,she still lives in vicksburg Ms. I would like to find out more family history . Yes, I believe it probably is. Eron Elwood is not that common a name, and Lena M was b Oct 1885, according to the 1900 census. However, I would take the W I Eskew that you have with a large grain of salt-- It looked more like W O or W Q on the original census. This is what I have on Eron Elwood Eskew

I don't think this is my line, but I do have info on it. John David H/L Escue/Eskew/Askew b Sep 2-1857 either GA or AL.,d apr 1923 In Birmingham, Jefferson Co, AL. His wife Mary Emma Petty b May 1863 TX died Jan 14, 1947, also in Birmingham, AL. They married abt 1884.

We are the same Eskew family! Charlotte Eskew was my great-grandmother. I have Charlotte's parents as John David Eskew and Mary Petty. You are correct that Alma was from another marriage--maybe that is why I have had so much trouble finding Mary Petty's parents. I hope to hear from you! My e-mail is bababarton at aol.com
