I had a relative that had a small spread in Rociada, NM and my mothers name was Ramoncita Esquibel. Also had a grand father in Rociada named Modesto Solano. Jut thought that having a relative named Juan in Rociada was interesting. I believe your grand mother and my mother were related. We would visit them from Raton NM perhaps every two or three years, I was perhaps 6 or 7 yrs old.

My Great Grandma Adelina was born to Esquipula Esquibel and Donasciana Silva. My Great Grandma used to tell us stories of a family member being killed by Indians. The Esquibel family I am looking for was from Ranchos De La Joya, Socorro, New Mexico. I am searching for any family members from the Esquibel side and any family history that they can share with me. I do know that Esquipula Esquibel owned the Trading Post in the Village of San Francisco. Actually the Esquibel Family owned quite a bit of land in that area. I am very anxious to meet and Esquibel's that have had family in this area.

Im looking for more info on the Esquibel Family. I believe my great grandfather is named Joe Esquibel and he had a son named Manuel Esquibel who was a POW in WWII. I dont know any names of other siblings or how many there may be. I know they lived in Ohio for some time but then Manuel moved to Texas with his wife Isabel (Moreno maiden name)and kids. Im not sure if there is any facts to back this up... but Manuel Esquibel was believed to have been born on an Indian Reservation. Does this sound familiar to anyone??? Thanks.

I am new to this and just finding out a little about my great grandmother. Her name is Conception Esquibel. I thought it was Esquivel but just received a document with the correct name. Unfortunatley that is all it has a name. I think she was born in Las Vegas, NM. Late 1800's. She married a man named Filocio Cordova. She has a few daughters and then a son. The son, my grandfather, was born after the divorce. I don't know if the story is accurate. She also worked for a transporter, as a cook. My grandfathers name is Jacob Diego Cordova, Born in Mora Co. NM. Any one recognize the names? Any information would be appreciated. Thanks

Esquivel / Esquibel Tarascans in Michoacan?

Hello,
I am researching my husband's ancestors. In speaking with my father-in-law, Raul Diaz Nunez, he told me that his Grandmother's family name was ESQUIVEL. From what can I recall, Raul's Mom's birth name was ELENA ESQUIVEL DIAZ (1907-1969). Elena married Jesus Cardenas Nunez (1905-1992). Elena & Jesus came to California around 1930. Elena's Mom's birth name was MICAELA ESQUIVEL. I believe that Elena had a brother named ESTEVAN ESQUIVEL, Esteban Esquibel could be Micaela's father's name also. My father-in-law said that at one time, at least Micaela & Elena, lived on some sort of TARASCAN Indian Reservation, in MICHOACAN. I may have some of the names confused, of course I can't find my notes right now. I recall the cities of PATAMBAN & ZAMORA coming up in the conversation as well. Any info. and/or tips for further research are welcomed and greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Darci Gibbs-Nunez
