The Department of Defense announced today the death of a sailor who was supporting Operation Enduring Freedom.

Petty Officer 3rd Class Kyler L. Estrada, 21, of Maricopa, Ariz., died Feb. 14 as a result of a non-combat related training incident in Djibouti. Estrada, a Navy hospital corpsman, was assigned to the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit based at Camp Pendleton, Calif.

He grew up in San Luis Obispo and played with Pat when she lived in Palo Alto, along with cousins Frankie and Chuck Estrada. You had on there about Eva who married Gordon Jewell. Eva is the daughter of Isabella. Eva is my Grandmother. Her daughter Patsy who actually prefers Pat lol is my mother. Jerome Jess Estrada born February 5, 1946

I think Julian is younger than Jerome. The other brothers are older. Julian was married to Rachel. Joe's middle name is Peter I think. Someone in the family passed away sometime after 1994 and Jerome could not be reached. It may have been one of his brothers that passed away. At one time Joe was married to a Karen Veldemen or Veldamen. Not sure of the spelling of her last name. Karen and Joe had a daughter. I bellieve Joe remarried. Jack was married to Olivia I think that was her name. She was into raising birds for a hobby in her back yard.

Jerome said that some of his family was originally from Spain and the other side was indian.

Sister: Josie (not sure if it is josephina or if spelling is correct)

Mother: Josie or Josephina / maiden name was Sanchez
Father: Joe or Joseph

Grandfather on mother side: Sanchez

Family from California, Kings county I think. Hanford maybe

The mother died when Jerome was young.

The last time Jerome saw his family was back in 1979 and in late 1980s in two trips to California.

Hello..I am looking for family members of John Estrada 1900-1988 San Luis Obispo, Ca. To my knowledge, his mom was Encarnacion and his dad was John (Juan) Estrada. He had several half brothers with the last name Silverio/Silvera, etc and several half brothers with the last name Estrada. I met one of his Estrada borthers at his funeral in SLO in 1988 but unfortunately can not remember the name. I am looking for anyone who has any of these surnames in their lineage and also a connection with Zacatecas. My grandfather's family Gonzales came from Pozo Hondo and baptized at least 2 of their babies in Villa Nueva, Zacatecas. He was born ab. 1850s. Name of Pablo Gonzales. Somehow he also interchanged by using Estrada. His mother's maiden name was Rosales. Pablo married Maximianna Losoya ab 1881. They moved to San Pedro de las colonias ab. 1885 and then moved to Gonzales, Texas ab 1908.

Mrs. Estrada was one of the earliest residents of Monterey and was prominent in the social life of this city under the old regime. She was over 70 years of age.
