I have not gone to the archives to search for records. I will probably go eventually, but need to gather together all that I want a copy of for all my relatives. I will probably have to make several trips. It is very expensive to do this on the internet even if it is possible.

Yes, speculation tells you where to look for clues.

Has anyone tried to get a death certificate on her? That should say where she died/was buried. Similarly, a death certificate on James Monroe and/or Calvin should say the names of their parents. After 1920, MS had birth certificates and death certificates.

No. I believe that she died before moving from what was Pike county, so believe she was buried near that location. I know this is a lot of speculation, but have to start somewhere.
Joe

I will reply for the sake of this message board. Wilford/Williford Smith married long before 1874(Around 1833-his first child was born abt.1835). He had a number of children who were grown when he married Elizabeth Sermons. His first wife's name was Elizabeth according to the source for all this information, 1850/1860 US Census. I do not know what Elizabeth's name was for sure. Virtually everybody shows Elizabeth Ezell. I believe she was buried around 20 miles SE of present day Tylertown, MS.although that is speculation.

Try researching the Archibald Ezell and the Fielding families that were in the Anson County, NC census of 1800. They were only here for a brief while. I have came across them trying to connect my ancestor, Job Davis, who was born in Mecklenburg County, Va in 1773. He arrived in Anson/Montgomery/Stanly County in the late 1700's with the Floyd, Tillman, Ledbetter and Pennington families. I believe Allans, Randalls, this Ezell family and a Fielding family arrived with them as well. There are Davis's connected to and intermarried with Fieldings, Ezells and Floyds and I am trying to discover where he fits in.

Have never heard before this that Elizabeth Ezell was the first wife to Wilford Smith. I am descended from his son, James Monroe. There is a MS marriage record that shows Wilford in Franklin Co. MS marrying an Elizabeth Sermans in 1874. May I ask what source you have for Elizabeth Ezell as first wife?

Yes, Ezells in Tripp County. I've noted the references. I was born in TX myself but that was purely coincidental. Army Brat. No family here that we knew of at the time. But I would love to weave through it all and see if there is a connection. From Henry Marthad down is pretty solid on my branch. His father, Uriah, is where things start to get real smokey for me. What don't we scan each other's trees and see if something appears? If you message me here at ancestry.com I'll give you my email address.

I know there were Ezells in Missouri because my great grandfather was born in Missouri in 1845. He was raised in Texas. I believe the family was traveling and stopped in Mo. to visit relatives, then proceeded on with their journey after the birth.I would love to share with you to see if I can find a connection with the Missouri Ezells and the Texas Ezells. They came to Texas through Missouri from Kentucky.

My great, great grandfather, Henry Ezell, is buried at Starks Cemetery near Piedmont in Wayne County, MO. He had two sons: my great-grandfather, Eugene Monroe, and his much younger brother, William Franklin "Willie". I know my great-grandfather's line petered out; there are myself and my two brothers but I am looking for the descendants of William Franklin who still reside in Wayne County. I know there are Ezells in the Piedmont phone directory; I looked on a recent trip there but have no idea if they are descended from Henry M (and his wife, Caroline). I would love to get in contact with any of them to discover any family stories they might know and perhaps get together.

Please reply this thread if you have any information. Thank you.

Charles Edward Ezell's mother was Martha A. "Mattie" Aughtry (Autrey) Ezell. I believe she died in 1954. She was from Carroll County, Tennessee. We have hit a road-block with Charles' father's name. I believe he was born in Alabama and lived some time in either Hardin, TN or Pine Bluff, TN - or both. Please, if you have any information, it would be very helpful. Thank you!

I am not sure that this is the same one you are researching. I have 7 sons listed, but none of them is named William. I have no daughters listed for him. There might be more, and I just haven't found them all.

Ezell Ark, MO, MI

for a decade I've been looking for information on my Grandfather's family, David Ezell, don't know his parents names, his mother died shortly after he was born Feb 10, 1907, his father died when he was young (under 10).

He lived in Kennett Missouri, family also lived in Ark., Older sister Flora Etta Ezell, 1st marriage to Floyd Goswick, last marriage to Lloyd or Floyd Mullins, she died in Michigan. She had four children Jewell (stock), Alma (Mobbs), Naomi (sp? - Blair), and Elton Loy Goswick.

Other siblings of David - James, Jesse(not sure if male or female) and Macey (not sure on spelling). From a Missouri death record think there a a possibility his father may have been Arch or Archibald Ezell.

Lived in Michigan during (1936-1959, 60 ?) then moved. Much of the family migrated to Michigan, some settled in the Flint area, some settled in the Kalamazoo area.

If anyone can be of any assistance I'd love to hear from you.

Alexander Ezell , born 1799 in Duplin, N.C., was my great, great, great, grandfather. He moved to north Florida in the 1860s'. He was married to Sarah Cook. I would be interested in seeing any pics or paintings that may exist. I would also like to know the name of his parents and where they came from. I think his father could have been Henry Ezell, and mother Keziah Unk...not sure. Does anyone have any information on these matters out there?
