KAY ,
Re Edward Fahy , this is a long shot but I have an Edward Fahy b. 1872 died in New Jersey in 1944 . He was married to a Margaret Mary O'Leary . Edward's mother was Margaret Sullivan who was married to Patrick Fahy known as Patsy Fahy . These Fahys were from Cork . The Fahy name is normally spelled Fahy in Cork but seems to have become Fahey after they emigrated . If this is of any interest get back to me .

Rgds , Denis .

Daniel Wolfton Fahey/Fay b. 1831-37

Daniel's birthyear is given as 1831(obit); 1834(death cert.); 1834 (1920 Jefferson Co., KY census); 1835(Civil War Record); 1836(1911 Canadian Census); 1837(Canadian homestead of 1911 and the Oklahoma homestead of 1900); we could go on. I would say probably 1837 as he would have had to give these dates himself.

Daniel marries in Jefferson Co., KY 17 Dec 1858 in the Catholic Church. In the 1860 census Daniel (Fahy) is shown with his wife, Catherine (Mullen) and his son, Thomas as well as Michl Doyle and Michl Walsh both born Ireland (poss. boarders).

In the household next door is a Peter Fahey aged 19 b. Ireland living with a Mary Dorsey.

Does this sound familiar to anyone?

There is STILL Faye's living in Peoria. I would LOVE to learn where in Ireland they are from. My earliest decendent was born in 1820 in Ireland and died in Peoria. Whe n and with who did he come over??

She married Frederick Darrough and their children were Willard D, Marguritte and Bernard Theodore. Her father I believe was Dennis Fahy b 1855 in Iowa. Her mother was Margaret Estelle Malady b in Wisconsin 1872. Siblings Mary Beatrice, Walter, Ellen and Margaret. I'm just hitting a dead end trying to find out for sure if she is the mother of Theodore. Thank you.

My great aunt's mother was Elizabeth FAHEY, born in Brooklyn, NY to Mary NEILON and John FAHEY, both of Ireland. I don't know for sure where John FAHEY was from but the family says John and Mary knew each other from Ireland. Mary NEILON was born in 1872 in County Limerick & lived later in Cappamore, Ireland so maybe John FAHEY was from near there as well.

If any of that rings a bell, drop me a note.

Joe

Hello,
I just noticed your post about James Fahey and Bridget Lynch of Galway who settled in West Virginia. My greatgreatgrandparents were James Fahey and Bridget Lynch who were from Galway and settled in Lewis County WV. I wonder if they are the same and if so have you gotten any further info over the last 8 years? My ggrandmother was their daughter Ellen born 5 Sep 1862. She married Edward Foley.
Mary

Hi, on another thing, under John S Anderson, you show Mary Charity Smith Woodward as one person, but actually John S Anderson was married to Mary Smith first, then Charity Woodward, his 2nd wife. It's all VERY confusing.

Hi
Thanks. It seems your gt. grandma and my grandma Leah were sisters. Sarah Ormerod married John Bradley and they had five girls and four boys including Leah and Charlotte.
I wonder what year Oliver went to newfoundland, did he go to America first then onto newfoundland? When did Charlotte Fahy go and why? Would you be kind enough to let me have those details of the wedding and births of the children?
Do you know what district it was in?

I am surprised about Oliver being in the newfoundland regiment. I am assuming he sailed in 1847 about the age of 21, their first son was born in 1850 so they must have met and married quite soon after arriving there! Taking this timescale into account he would have been pushed to have a first wife before Charlotte - it would be interesting to know where this native american indian wife story came about.
Have you any idea what year they returned to England?

I'm very grateful for your help with this
Regards
Doreen

Hi

I am looking for information on both Oliver Ormerod and his wife Charlotte (Fahey?) before they went to Newfoundland. Their daughter Sarah was my great grandmother. They returned to live in Blackburn, Lancashire where the last of their children was born. Why did they go to Newfoundland?

Hi Chris,
I'm so proud of you !!!!
It sounds like you're doing what you love.
It's wonderful that you got to spend time in France and traveling the country.
I spent a long weekend in Paris while I was overseas.
My room-mate and I visited Notre Dame Cathedral.
We also went to The Follies :)
I'm so sorry to hear about Scott. Please tell him I send best wishes. Several years ago I visited family in Revere.
We went to a CVS store, and the pharmacist was Frank Pennachio. He called out "Hi, Miss Fahey" from behind the
counter. I hardly recognized him. Like you, he's another
student I'm proud of.
You can contact me off the boards at
njlincoln@aol.com
Mrs. Lincoln! So good to hear back from you! It sounds like you have been busy over the last several decades! Germany, children and grandchildren! How wonderful. I'm glad you continued to teach... you were always so nice to us, i'm sure there are now thousands out there that you have kindly shepherded. Good for you. As far as the paths that I have prowled... left the McKinley school in the eighth grade and moved to NH. North in the White Mts. where I live now. After high school and UNH I traveled the country some and then spent some time in France... some in 1974 and much of 1975... came back to the mountains... went to more school at the Univ. of So. Maine, and then got a graduate degree which led me to the line of work that i've been in for many years... i have a small business leading bird watching tours, teaching some workshops and some college courses, trips and travel and lecturing on wildlife... I've been lucky to be able to do something that I've enjoyed and made a living at. I've been building my house for the last ten years or so... a constant, endless project that i've loved. Several relationships over the years that never worked out, no kids... I'm envious! I have lots of nephews and nieces and a new great nephew/niece on the way (any day now!) So I can't complain too much. The only one from our 5th grade that i've stayed in touch with is Scott Buckley... he lives in Kansas City, married, no kids, runs his own medical/hospital consulting business... he's good. i went out several years ago for his big 50th birthday party. he went to Harvard after Revere High, got strep throat, ignored it and lost both his kidneys! it's been a battle for him, but after a few replacements he's in pretty good shape. he's been a long-time and wonderful friend. so ms. fahey! you got us off in the right direction anyway... no complaints there... can't speak for the rest of the fifth grade... i think Scott told me that Ricky Anderson died? He lived right across the street. That's about all that's happened in these last decades... let me know when you organize the reunion! I think the McKinley School is still standing! My email address is chris@ravenwildlife.com
I can't wait to tell Scott that I heard from you! Thanks again for getting back to me. Take care of those grandchildren! All the best, Chris
