i have an elizabeth fairnington born in branxton 1803 who married my gt gt grandfather william spence on 16 May 1829. i have just discovered her surname today so am still working on finding out who her parents were. i obviously have worked out our family tree (spence). i also have census return data for her 1841/81 and her death certificate (died aged 86 from senile decay). if it helps i can scan info to you.

Hi Angela,

If you email me on david.fairnington@btinternet.com I can send you a copy of a large drawing in PDF that illustrates what I have found thus far. If I attach it through this system it will get converted to another file type and probably end up unreadable.

Kind regards
David

I would be delighted to hear of any connections, please let me know if you can. Coincidentally my great grandfather on my dad's side Ralph Storey Moffat was born in Wooler in 1856

My GGG Grandparents John and Ellen Fairnington came from Branxton Northumberland. Their daughter Eliza married John Wright and moved to Gateshead where they managed a pub called The Five Wand Mill. Their daughter was Ellen who married Tom Stephens and their daughter Eliza Fairnington Stephens was my Grandmother. Anybody else researching in this area?
