Hello,
I also have a (loose) connection with this Farlow/Hiscock Tree.
Yes, Minnie was one of many children, 12 in total (2 died in infancy), and that did not include the brother/sister in-laws.
Do you have any old photos of Charles William Hiscock, husband of Minnie? We think he was in the Navy, around WW1, but not sure, as he seemed to be from a Naval family.
Minnie's birth was regisered as Minnie Dowling, her mother's maiden name. When her mother (Mary Ann Dowling) married Albert Alfred Farlow, Minnie became Minnie Dowling Farlow.
Daniel

I am trying to find a Farlow connection. A James Farlow in Chowan County, N.C. owned about 1300 acres there in early NC history (1705-1715) or so. His wife was Dorothy(?)and had a daughter Mary. Mary married Daniel Halsey that had moved to Chowan County. His Halseys are the Halseys from the Massachusetts Bay Colony that eventually settled in Southhampton, NY. I cannot find why he moved to NC. Farlow owned a lot of land, but cannot find any information about the man, himself. Can anyone help me? He probably came down from Virginia in that migration, but I'm not really sure that he, himself came to Chowan, but owned land there.

Minus Farlow b 1814 Maryland, d 1892 Wabash County, Indiana

My gg-grandfather Minus Farlow is one of my brick walls. He was born 28 March 1814 in Maryland and settled in Wabash County, Indiana, in 1842. There were a lot of Farlows in Worcester County, Maryland, so that is where I concentrated my early research.

The first name "Minus" is very unusual, and in Worcester County I found several men named "Minos" with the surname "Fooks". Apparently the Fooks and Farlow families intermarried. However, I have never been able to locate my Minus Farlow in Worcester County.

Recently I noticed that 3 other "Old Settlers" of Wabash County were also from Maryland, and all three were from Frederick County, so I'm wondering if I was barking up the wrong tree in Worcester County.

Hoping that someone reading this board might have a clue or two for me.

We have a John FARLOW (c1772- ? ) born in London and married to Sarah Bradley (c1774- ? ). They had two sons: William (c1794- ? ) born in Clerkenwell (maybe Hackney) and John (c1802- ? ) born in Hackney. John married Sara ?

We have a continuous line from John and Sara, but no information on William. Any connections, anyone?

William Farlow - Law Stationer

I am looking for information about William Farlow, born 1807 in London to William Farlow and Sarah Walker Barnes. William married Ann Comber in 1830 (she died in 1846) and they had 5 children: William, Ann Comber, Marion Dahmen, Arthur George and Fanny Gertrude. The family appear in the 1841 England Census, but they do not appear in the 1851 or 1861 census records. I know William came to Queensland, Australia and married Mary Ann Collins in 1865. They had 7 children together. I have discovered in a OneWorldTree that William was a "lawyer, married housekeeper, left London, disgrace".
If anyone can shed some information on the following, it would be greatly appreciated: when did William leave London, who was the housekeeper, what happened to William and Marion (his children). The answers to these questions would solve the mystery of this family for me. Thank you.

A yachtsman, I presume! Sorry I can't help you with this; our FARLOW family goes back a couple of hundred years in the London area. Before that, it is believed from Shropshire (100+ miles north-west of London). Apparently, quite a few Farlows from Ireland went to America in the 17th-19th centuries and many went into the various militia.

Chris

Hi David

Like Kim Bailey, I am descended from George Henry Farlow, born Wem 1804. As to Henry, have you considered the Henry Farlow listed in the Wolverhampton, Merridale cemetery, burial records, http://www.wolverhamptonhistory.org.uk/assets/userfiles/inde... Age indicates birth c.1805-ish

I know that Farlows continued to live in Wem through the 19th century, but perhaps Henry went to Wolverhampton with George Henry?

Good luck.

Colin Farlow.
My grandfather was from Georgia and named Jerry Edgar Farlow, Sr. He said he was named after his uncle Jerry Farlow. My grandfather also had a son named James. I don't have the dates for either men, but they both died about 10 years ago.
My husband also had a Jane Farlow to marry into the Hutcheson family in the 1800's.

We really know next to nothing about our Farlow ancestry, but hope to begin researching it soon.

Tammy Hutcheson

I would like to correspond with descendants of the Farlows whose gravestones were removed. I have been aware of Isaac Farlow as a prominent PA citizen for a long time, but not clear on how he or his line might be connected to mine. I am descended from a Michael Farlow (father John) who came to NC in the 1750s. He had a sister, Margaret, who married William Harlan and lived in West Marlborough Township. There were two other children, at least, William and George. I would like to explore the descendants of the other children in hopes of finding a connection back to Ireland or England.
