There were two, at least, born about the same time in Illinois. One married Viola Faucher. The other married Lillian Mik. There is no way to be sure which was which without further info.
On your Otto's marriage license his birth year is 1896. In the 1920 Census, it is 1897. Perhaps you can tell from the men's death dates as to which one was your Otto.

I am still looking for additional info about my grandmother. Her correct name is Loretta Faucher Franz from MA. I know that she married and divorced Stanley Franz and together they had four sons. Jeffery Franz of South Hadley, MA; John Franz (twin) of St. Augustine, FL; James Franz (twin) of Holyoke, MA and Robert Franz of St. Augustine, FL. So much of our family has lost touch and it is getting tougher and tougher to connect the dots.

What I have is Etienne Perreault was born 16 Dec 1827, Halifax South. He died 29 Dec 1910, St. Ferdinand of Halifax. Marie Louise Faucher was born in 1829 (don't have exact date or location) and died 8 Sep 1898, St. Ferdinand of Halifax. They were married 17 May 1847 in St. Sylvestre.

A "distant" cousin, Renee Cummings was immensely helpful. Another good source is Bill Fleming (BestBill - to everyone on the list). He has a personal library worth a small fortun. He has helped research his holdings for free. l All he asks (which is only reasonable) is a "thank you" so he knows you have received 'whatever' information he has to you. You might want to check out that list. They are super fantastic people.

I have 'just' moved and don't have everything unpacked yet, and unfortunately, the genealogy has to wait till many other things are taken care of first. Someone also accidentally deleted everything I had on line - and at the same time, corrupted my disk files! I do have hard copy to work from, but it's going to take awhile to re-enter everything -- SIGHHHHHhhhhhhhhhhhh!

I'd be interested in knowing if you are able to get more information from these people or the Quebec list in general.

Do you have Augustin's parents names? There are so many Augustin Fauchers, that without parents, it's difficult to know if this is a direct line or not. I'm sure they are all cousins of some degree -- just difficult to know how they connect.

Looking for true male Faucher volunteers interested in getting their dna tested to see if they connect to other Fauchers or other spellings of the name like Fanshaw or Fancher. YDNA can be tested by a lab in Houston, TX and is tracable from male to male to male same as surname as long as a solid pedigree is documented. The cost is minimal because YDNA is the most highly used genealogical dna test. Right now there is no Faucher project, but there is a Fancher project at familytreedna.com.

Alyre “Ike” Faucher - age 102, of Boothby Street, died October 2, 2005 at MaineGeneral Medical Center after a brief illness. He was born in East Braughton, Quebec, Canada the son of Joseph and Obeline (Breton) Faucher.
Mr. Faucher was a member of St. Andrew’s Catholic Church. He was an honorably discharged Army veteran of W.W. II.
He had been employed at Bates Manufacturing Company Edwards Division for over 45 years.
Ike was predeceased by two brothers and four sisters. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and was very generous to the needs of children.
Survivors include four nephews: Norman “Bing” Faucher and Joseph Faucher both of Augusta, Gilbert Faucher of Montreal and Patrick Faucher of Oakland; two nieces: Joan Garant of Hallowell and Gloria Bishop of Augusta; a grandniece and grandnephew who were very involved in his life; Terry Laflamme of Sidney and Dana Faucher of Augusta as well as many other grandnieces and grandnephews.
Friends may visit Tuesday from 8:30 A.M. to 10:30 A.M. at Plummer Funeral Home, 16 Pleasant Street, Augusta. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered 11 A.M. Tuesday at St. Andrews Catholic Church. Burial will follow in the family lot at Holy Family Cemetery, Townsend Road, Augusta.

PLAINFIELD - Mary Lou Ritchotte, 57, loving wife of Gerard E. Ritchotte, died early Thursday morning at her home. She was born November 7, 1948 in Moosup a daughter of Alfred M. Faucher Jr. of Moosup and the late Lucille E. (Goyette) Faucher. Mary Lou enjoyed a full life, beginning her career in the late 1960's as a hairdresser until the birth of her children. She served as a mother and housewife for the next 18 years. After raising her children she went to work at Plainfield Greyhound Park from 1989 to 1998. Then worked in the Cafeteria at Quinebaug Community College from 1998 to 2003 and ended her career as permittee at the Plainfield VFW from 2001 to 2003. Mary Lou was a life member of VFW Post #5446, Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed boating, fishing, sunbathing, traveling and spending time with her family and numerous friends. Besides her husband and father she leaves two sons, Daniel E. Ritchotte of Plainfield and Robert T. Ritchotte of Manchester. Grandmother of Dustin G. Ritchotte of Plainfield; six brothers, Peter A. Faucher, Paul D. Faucher and Michael J.
