RE: Otto Danek
There were two, at least, born about the same time in Illinois. One married Viola Faucher. The other married Lillian Mik. There is no way to be sure which was which without further info.
On your Otto's marriage license his birth year is 1896. In the 1920 Census, it is 1897.

I am still looking for additional info about my grandmother. Her correct name is Loretta Faucher Franz from MA. I know that she married and divorced Stanley Franz and together they had four sons. Jeffery Franz of South Hadley, MA; John Franz (twin) of St. Augustine, FL; James Franz (twin) of Holyoke, MA and Robert Franz of St. Augustine, FL. So much of our family has lost touch and it is getting tougher and tougher to connect the dots.

It has been years since I last posted, so I am giving it another shot.

Please let me know if you can help.

Thanks.

Re: Kenneth Faucher in NY

I haven't check this site for years! I'm seeing information which I'm sure connects to my Faucher line
Starting with my grandfather and working backwards, here is what I have

Berti Sylvester Augustin Faucher (b TX 1892) his mother was
Delia Faucher her father was
Augustin Faucher Jr b abt 183? (I can check that out later)
His father was
Augustin Faucher Sr B 1798
HER husband (1st 1/2 cousins once removed)
Alex Alexander Faucher - his father
Sylvester Faucher his father AND Augustin Sr's father
Louis Jean Faucher his father
Joseph Faucher - line goes back to deReichcourt

The information I have, I got from
Quebec-Research@RootsWeb.com

A "distant" cousin, Renee Cummings was immensely helpful. Another good source is Bill Fleming (BestBill - to everyone on the list). He has a personal library worth a small fortun. He has helped research his holdings for free. l All he asks (which is only reasonable) is a "thank you" so he knows you have received 'whatever' information he has to you. You might want to check out that list. They are super fantastic people.

I have 'just' moved and don't have everything unpacked yet, and unfortunately, the genealogy has to wait till many other things are taken care of first. Someone also accidentally deleted everything I had on line - and at the same time, corrupted my disk files! I do have hard copy to work from, but it's going to take awhile to re-enter everything -- SIGHHHHHhhhhhhhhhhhh!

I'd be interested in knowing if you are able to get more information from these people or the Quebec list in general.

Good luck,
Madeleine J.
Do you have Augustin's parents names? There are so many Augustin Fauchers, that without parents, it's difficult to know if this is a direct line or not. I'm sure they are all cousins of some degree -- just difficult to know how they connect.

My Augustin Faucher's father was Jean. It would be great to know if/how they connect.

Thanks,
Madeleine J. English
Sacramento, CA

Faucher YDNA testing

Looking for true male Faucher volunteers interested in getting their dna tested to see if they connect to other Fauchers or other spellings of the name like Fanshaw or Fancher. YDNA can be tested by a lab in Houston, TX and is tracable from male to male to male same as surname as long as a solid pedigree is documented. The cost is minimal because YDNA is the most highly used genealogical dna test. Right now there is no Faucher project, but there is a Fancher project at familytreedna.com.
Phillip

Hello, Greg -

I don't have information on this couple. However, have you
checked this out with the QUEBEC-RESEARCH@rootsweb.com group? They are fantastic about helping one another. If anyone has the information or a way to check it out for you, they will.

You might specifically ask Renee Cummings or Bill Fleming (Best Bill). The "only" thing anyone asks when they research something for you is a "thank you" -- even if the response is negative. Basically, this lets them know you have received their answer. Bill and Renee helped me break down my brick wall with Louis Faucher.

Bill has a fortune in resource materials that he owns amd he researches for free. I don't know what all resources Renee has, but she will research for free also.

No one on this list charges for research and they are extremely gracious and generous with their help/information. You're going to be immensely pleased with this group. They are fantastic people - you'll soon feel a sense of 'belonging' here -- all family.

Go to: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com
once there, go to "List of Best Bill's Source codes", and
you can see a listing of his personal library. You can also check out resources others have available.

I's be surprised if you didn't get the information you need
from this list.

Best,

Madeleine
Sacramento, California

First you'll need to start with "all" of the marriages of the children of this couple.

Joseph Foucher dit Faucher m. Angelique Chausse dit Lemaine on 1724-02-28 at Montreal

Gervais Foucher dit Faucher married Marie Genevieve Bouchard dit Dorval on 1731-04-09 at Ste. Famille

Jacques Foucher dit Faucher married Marie Therese Meneu dit Chateauneuf on 1737-11-19 at Ste. Famille

Gabriel Foucher dit Faucher married Marie Therese Gendron on 1734-02-07 at Ste. Famille

Augustin Foucher dit Faucher married Marie Angelique Giguere on 1745-08-16 at Ste. Famille

There were 14 children in all. The others died unmarried:

Marie 1690-03-05 1748-04-09
Ursule 1692-01-25 1692-01-30
Jeanne 1693-01-14 1693-03-07
Claude 1695-08-07 1695-08-11
Bernard 1696-08-23 1696-08-26
Elisabeth 1697-09-15 unknown death date
Jean Baptiste 1699-10-13 1733-03-27
Cecile 1702-02-22 1702-02-25
Gervais 1703-02-18 1703-03-10

You don't say specifically what you already have so it is difficult to know what you need. All of the information up to 1799 is available online at PRDH (U. of Montreal) or in their books/CDs. Information after 1799 is available in the parish repetoires.

Regards,
Sharyn
