I just learned that my 10xgreat-grandparents were a John or Christopher Fearon married to Agnes Wood Fearon. I have no other information on them other than I am descended down from their son George Fearon bor c. 1608 reportedly in Marefield, Leicestershire, England and died Dec 22 1687 in Ullock, Dean Parish, Cumberland, England - buried in Dean, Cumbria, England. Any information on this family would be greatly appreciated.

I am looking for relatives of Peter H. Fearon. In particular a daughter that is still living. According to ancestry he is still living. All I know is that he married Grace D. Perkins and they had John Henry who died in 1996 who was married to Gladys Mildred Nason. They also had a son Harold and a daughter Ruth who are both supposed to be living and the daughter I am looking for. Any help would be appreciated.

Nancy Lavasser Dorais

I am a decendent of the Perkins family.

Hi Ian and Derek... My name is Fiona Fearon. I was born and live in London. Spencer Fearon is my uncle (Papa's) son... Uncle Papa's full name... Fitz Albert Fearon. He was born on 27th Aug 1924 in the district of Peter's Hill. Sadly, Uncle Papa passed away on 3rd March 2005. My Grand Parents are James and Emily Fearon. Uncle Papa came to the UK in 1957. My Father, Benji/Coolie man Fearon, was born one of a twin, who I understand died at birth. My father's full name is Waldimar Fearon born 17th June 1931, he came to the UK in 1962. Thankfully, he is alive a kicking by the grace of the good lord.. I have a remaining uncle, Leonard Fearon and aunt Louise Fearon who are still alive both living in Jamaica, May Pen in Clarendon and Prospect in Manchester respectively. Dont know if this helps... I could post more info... Let me know if any of this helps...

Re: William Henry Fearon / Margaret Musgrave

Margaret Osbourne Musgrave is the sister of my maternal grandfather, Joseph Musgrave. I have gravestone evidence that she died on 11th May 1946 in the USA. I don't know when she first emigrated, but she seems to have returned to England in May 1939 and then returned to the USA in October 1939. I have been researching the Musgrave family tree for some time now and have information going back to 1665, if you are interested. Margaret's brother, Hesket, was living in Michigan in 1930, so there could be some connection there.
In the 1960's, I used to write to a relation in the USA. She was called Joan, but I'm afraid that's all I can remember. She should be in her fifties now.
Would love to have any information that you have about the family after 1930, as that is as recent as I have been able to trace.

I hope you are still monitoring the boards. My great grandmother was a Fearon who lived in St Catherine however I do not believe her family originally settled there. I was able to locate copies of birth certificates for Veleta and Cannte Fearons' children Coralee Agatha Fearon and Calfaline Edwina Fearon. If would like copies please let me know.

Hello - Many thanks for your interesting message.
Then we are 'cousins' as my ancestor is 'Dolly' Dorothy Fearon. She married Joseph Borrowscale at Lorton.
I expect you know they were children of Matthew Fearon of High Lorton. He was a Tailor' I have a copy of his Will.
The other children of Matthew/Isabel are:
Ann 1756: Mary 1758: Dorothy 1762: John 1764-1792
Mary marr: John Turrell 1796
(I have a contact in Australia who is also descended from Ann Fearon i.e.) George Kearney.
Sad that no-one knows anything of Isabel Twentyman. On her marriage entry she claimed she was of Brigham.
The father of Matthew was ABNER FEARON - Do you know anything of him. I know a little.
I did not know that the Mandalls were Quakers - the Borrowscale and Fearons were also in the very early years.
I expect one of your Mandal family emigrated ?
If you require any other info. let me know please.
Joan Borrowscale, Liverpool UK
j.borrowscale@btinternet.com

Jan,
I read your post with interest. Although I don't recognize any of the names, the places are all similar to my Fearon line. My g grandfather was born in Tandragee, County Armagh in May 1852. His father's name was Steven according to his death certicate. Mother unknown. He married Mary Kelly (b.Nov 1856) around 1878 or 1879. Location unknown but presumed in Ireland. They moved to Bootle, Liverpool and in 1879 they had a daughter Alice Fearn (Fearon) born there. Then a son George Fearn (Fearon) born in 1879. They immigrated to USA in 1882 and settled in Braddock, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, USA. They had six more children, Vincent 1882, Marie 1884, John 1886 (my grandfather), Mae 1889, Bernard 1890, Edward 1896.

I was wondering if you have found any siblings for your line? Did any of your line immigrate to the US? There was a Joseph Fearon living in the same area in PA but, I haven't found any connection.
Best regards, Linda

Hello,
I have a birth reference for a Michael McManus in 1865. Mother Mary Ann Ferin (Fearon) maried to a James McManus in Meigh, Co. Armagh. James and Mary Ann married in 1864 in Newry, Armagh. Mary Ann's father was Peter Ferin (Ferran, Fearon).

James and Mary Ann were my paternal gt. gt grandparents and they are found in Liverpool from 1868. Their daughter Mary Ann McManus went on to marry a Patrick Fearon in Bootle, Liverpool in 1897. Patrick was born near Carlingford
Co. Louth - so not that far away from Meigh.

If you recognise any of these names I would be pleased to hear from you.

Jan

I am seeking information on the Fearon family of St. Catherine. I am not sure if they originated from there however some of them resided in the Harkers Hall area and another area referred to as Bottom Field. Some descendants married into the following families: Wilson, Goldson & Burke. Any additional information anyone may have on this family would be greatly appreciated. We are planning a reunion this year.

This is in response to your post from July 1999. I just came across your post and thought I'd give it a try that you are still looking for Fearon's from Armaugh Cty Ireland. My GGrandfather was born in Tandragee, Armaugh. My ggrandfather was Bernard Fearon, wife, Mary Kelly. They immigrated from Liverpool, England to the US in 1882 and settled in Braddock, PA. I haven't found when they left Ireland to go to England. His father's name was Steven. I'd love to hear from you as this side of my family has been very difficult to trace.

Hi Hayley, I'm in a similar situation with my gr gr grandfather, he is also James Feron (diff. spelling) his marriage, death cert. and census all have his mother as Janet Donaldson and father as Joshua Feron - Lanark Scotland; but I can't find his birth certificate, or the birth cert. for the first 4 children (all born after 1855). I've been trawling the sights looking for Feron's with a different spellings.
Often young men joined the army giving a faulse date of birth because they were too young to join up. Try making his date of birth a couple of years later!
It took me a long time to get my own granfathers birth certificate, he lied on his marriage certificate, to my Gran, about his age and who his parents were, turns out he had another wife 50 miles away. Good luck Linda

I am looking for any information on my husband's great-grandfather, William Henry Fearon (d. 1948). He was married to Margaret Osborn Musgrave (b. Mar 1895, d. 1948). I have both their death years the same, tentatively, but have no way of knowing they are correct. Margaret was the daughter of James Musgrave and Sarah Osborn. They all lived in England.

William Henry Fearon and Margaret Osborn Musgrave had a son, James William Fearon (my husband's grandfather). Margaret and their son, James, traveled to Canada in 1939 and then James somehow ended up in Michigan.
