I have a photo of Kathryn Feeney.
I don't have a date, but figure it's late 1800s.
The location was Mingo Junction, which is very close to Steubenville, Ohio.

I know she is related, to us, but just don't know how... yet. ;-)

hi james
i was pleased to hear from you as i've very little to go on regarding grt granma bridgit, i have though this research met my 2nd cousin esthers son brian[ and his cousin ray]esthers grandson, who has pictures of both thomas and bridgit together hes happy to share, also esther and bridgit 2 and families,i've discovered that the family had a very strong connection with kildare,[also dublin roscomman ,letrim and galway] and a long military connection going back to the african wars[ early 1800s]and before, but there is a big gap in ages between siblings ive found up to now,ive found two thomas's in dublin 1911 one 51 and one 61 which makes it 1850 or 1861 birth date but bridgits not with him ,shes in clifden ,
galway.
do you know when your'e thomas/bridgit died and where?also there is a family story about someone emigrating to the u s a but no names

I believe my grandmother's parents were named Thomas and Bridget Feeney. My grandmother's name was Suzanne Feeney Traynor. I think Bridget's family name was Burke. Does this sound familar? I know my grandmother had a brother James and Patrick and a sister Margaret. I don't recall any other names. I am sure that there were other siblings.

Please contact me - I am very interested in finding out more.
Information on an Elizabeth Feeney needed.

I am looking for information on an Elizabeth Feeney who married first a Joseph Mullen, in about 1894. Following Josephs death, the exact date which is unknown, she then married a John Hollister in 1923. Per her marriage record to John Hollister her parents were Alfred Feeney and Julia Curan. I have not been able to locate any census info for Elizabeth prior to 1900. Also to confuse the issue John Hollister remarried for the third time and per the marriage record Elizabeth died May 20, 1929. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am researching Thomas and Patrick Feeney (born 1840-43) in Sligo. They were in England from the early 1860s (Yorkshire- Hull and Howden). Their parents were Thomas and Mary. I need to know more about the family origins and am hopeful of information from other researchers. I have drawn a blank with parish registers. Patrick Feeney was my great-grandfather.

Elizabeth Brown

Wally,
I have lived in VA all my life, about 20 miles from Richmond now. My grandmother was Hester Feeney, b. 1895 Emerson NE. The 2nd oldest in the clan. I too loved my grandmother very much--she was also very beautiful, inside & out. She was very strong, but so sweet! I loved spending time with her one-on-one. She lived in Mechanicsville, and we attended the same church so we saw a good deal of her (I have 4 sisters & 1 brother--all but 1 right here in VA). She lived a long life, dying when I was 22. I'm sure she is a saint in heaven!
Your family is pretty spread out, from coast to coast! Do you see each other often?
The Temple Family genealogy site is huge! Looks like they've been here forever. I notified Park Temple of an error in the 1930 Richmond census, involving your grandmother & my mother (Joyce). They are both listed in Edward Enoch Feeney's household, but they were recorded as mother & daughter. He admitted that "relationship" had him quite stumped.
Well, that's all for now.
--Bobbi (Johnson)
Yes, since our grandparents were sisters, that makes us second cousins. Your dad died in Seattle---what brought him out there? Are you still in Key West?

Bobbi

I take it you think they may have married in Ireland and I assume they were Roman Catholic. Statutory recording of RC marriages only started in Ireland in 1864. So you won’t find a marriage certificate for them. You may find a record of their marriage in parish records but these are not all on-line. Ideally you really need to know their parish, and then you could check the parish records (Copies are kept in the National Library in Dublin and also PRONI, Belfast). Here’s a link with details of the surviving RC parish records:

www.irishtimes.com/ancestor/browse/counties/rcmaps/

Culvin doesn’t seem a very common name in Co Cavan. I can only see 2 in the county listed in Griffiths Valuation (1857). One is in Annagh parish and the other in Urney. If you have no other leads you could consider searching those parish records.

www.askaboutireland.ie/griffith-valuation/index.xml
Hi Dot,
I have Feeney's in my family tree. My gg grandfather was Martin Feeney born 1834 on Norfolk Island as his father, Thomas Feeney, born Sligo, was a foot soldier with the Kings Regiment supervising convicts on the island. Martin's mother was Bridget "Mary". Martin married Isabella McFarlane in Welleington NSW Australia in 1856 and had 4 children. Two died at birth, or soon afterwards, Madeline appears to have not married but had a son George in 1883 (but no more info found) and Isabella born 1866 who married William Supple. Isabella is my direct descendant.Any more information would be greatly appreciated. Kind regards, Robyn
