In your TX search have you run across a William Fennel? He married Mary Susan Bingham 19 July 1877 in Tyler, Tx and a few years later after having 2 kids with Mary Susan he saddled up and went to town never to be heard from again... There is supposed to be a divorse record in the local courthouse but I dont live near there so I dont know for sure. She later remarried but he is never found anywhere again. I would love to know more since he is the father of my Great Great Grandmother Olive Branch Fennel Crawford.

I haven't been on ancestry for a very long while so please forgive me for not answering. My cousin in TX has started me looking again.. My grandfather was Lige Franklin Fennel, born in Killeen, TX around 1882 and died in Mangum, OK, around 1949 or 50. Mary Drew (Fennel) was born in a place called Starr Valley. Don't know if OK or TX. They married Aug. 27, 1905 in Greer County, OK. We THINK that their parents were Edmond Fennel and Arnenda Jane Fennel. Still looking at this. Again, I apologize for not staying with this.

My uncle, William Loren Fennell MD OBE is deceased - died in 1975 - he is survived by his son William Emery Fennell.
You are confusing him with another uncle, Emery Orville Fennell who was a Royal Air Force pilot, who died in 1940.

My father is George Cleland Fennell (b. 1933) to Carl & Juanita (Smith) Fennel. When he went to school in Trigg County Ky, the teacher mistakenly added a second "L" to the last name. Can anyone assist me in my searches as I have hit many road blocks due to spelling & lack of middle names, etc.

I just started to do this and hit a road block at Lige Fennel and Mary Drew. Oscar was my GGrandfather and their son. He died 13th of August 1999. Grandfather, Donald Franklin McKay, died in 1962 in Butte Montana. He married my grandma Clara Erickson. I believe they lived in Grand Junction Colorado for a while. They were together for approximately five years. He remarried and had a couple more children according to the Obituary. I have not seen the Obit as of yet, I will be checking with family members to get a copy. I hate posting before I have all the info I can get on here but hoping for a break. I believe his mother's name was Elisabeth and there was a grandma Fennel in the family somewhere. Looking for history/ Donald Mckay's children from latter marriage/s.

James Fennel born in IOWA I think but in Benton Co., MO 1870

He was 28 in 1870 and the census shows he was born in Iowa. He was married to Cynthia Berryman who had a twin sister, Emma. I can't rely on the census being correct for his state of birth as I've found so many that that put down the wrong places of birth but for now that's all I got. Any info would be highly appreciated.

I am searching for any information on James Fennel. He was living with John H. Blake in 1870 in Benton Co., MO. He was married to a Cynthia or Cintha Berryman and John Blake married Cintha's twin sister, Emma Berryman. I am trying to find any information regarding Cintha and James Fennel. After the 1870 census when they had only been married a short while because they have no children on that census. She was 24 and James Fennel was 28 on the 1870 census.

I am betting the Don McKay you are asking about is my mothers cousin. He was married to a Clara ? and Alice ?. Don's parents were Earl and Margaret Fennell McKay, and his grandparents were Edward Franklin and Lizzie Princess Samworth Fennell. I may be able to find his childrens names and what happened to them. He also had a brother named Ory Jean McKay that died young.

Did these people live in Buffalo, NY? The niece of my g-g-grand mother Johanna Fennel married a Powers and had one son by him. She later married a Rapp. She was born in Waterford Ireland and lived in Wyoming Co., NY for many years. Her son's name was John Powers and he had a son John. Both of them remained in Wyoming Co. all their lives. Johanna's sister was married to an O'Brien and lived in Buffalo at the time of Johanna's death. I am hoping that there might be some connection because you are a Powers. My g-g grandmother's married name was Johanna Whalen.

My husbands gr. grandmother & grandfather were Fennells in Oklahoma. Researching into their past, they came from South Carolina where the name was spelled Fennel with just one L in the federal census. Don't really know which one is correct. Is your gr. grandmother from these areas?

I'm looking for my Maternal GGgrandmother- names are Mariah Johanna Fennel m. William Hill, also a James Fennel m. Agnes Hill (dau. Clara Johanna b.1849) James m. Agnes 1846. I'm a Fehnel but there were several who came over on a ship landing in Philadelphia. I believe they came up to the Northampton County area and then one of the brothers headed to an area in Western Pa. The one documentation I have as the last name in the same family spelled both ways and when they left Rotterdam it was spelled Fanel. They are Germanic tho.
