I am looking for information on my Great Grandfather Alfred Joseph Fernandez. He married Amanda Jepsen in Los Angeles, Ca. in 1903 when he was 21. The marriage record says he's from Ohio. Family lore says he was Portuguese. I am at a complete loss with him... in the 1910 census Amanda Fernandez is listed as a boarder in Los Angeles, married, with 1 son living with her, a second child deceased and no sign of Alfred Fernandez the husband...

I found an obituary for Felipe awhile back; just realized I had saved it. Felipe died in Clayton, Union County, New Mexico on July 15, 1954.

What kind of information do you need? Felipe's older sister Juana Maria Fernandez is my great-great grandma. She married Agapito Martinez from Santa Cruz, New Mexico. They lived in Ocate, Mora County, New Mexico. I don't have lots and lots of info but I do have some birthdates, death dates, and marriage dates.

I am searching for information on my family surname Fernandez of Colorado and New Mexico. The names that I am particularly interested in are Antonio Jose Victor Fernandez whose parents are Antonio Fernandez and Maria Catalina Duran.

Another person I am researching is Felipe Santiago Fernandez whose parents are Antonio Jose Victor Fernandez and Ma Dionisia Corodova. Felipe Santiago Fernandez was born March 1, 1862 in Santa Fe, New Mexico. He was baptized by Jose Trujillo of New Mexico.

The last person in my family I am researching Eliseo Fernandez whose parents were Felipe Santiago Fernandez and Josephine Montoya. Eliseo Fernandez was born in New Mexico March 6, 1891. He also went by the name Joe Eliseo Fernandez. He is my Great Grandfather who passed away in my native town of Exeter, California back in May 15, 1978.

I'm sorry for your loss. I am actually looking for relatives on the Genera side. My grandparents were Serapio Reveles Genera and Helen Duran Genera. My great-grandparents on Serapio's side are Aruelio Genera and Manuela Reveles both formally of Mexico. They moved to the US and settled in Silver City. Aruelio passed in Feb 1984. died Tuesday, July 5, 2011, at home.
Born Nov. 9, 1920, in Clarksburg, W.Va.,
he was the son of the late Manuel and Vincenta (Iglesias) Fernandez;
and the husband of Wilma (Urbanik) Fernandez, to whom he was married for 61 years. Louis worked at US Steel, National Tube Works, as a diesel crane operator for 42 years and was a member of St. Patrick Church. He served in the 1st Marines Division in the South Pacific during World War II. Louis was a graduate of the GIA School of Gemology and McKeesport High School. He was an avid golfer and member of the Murrysville Golf Club. Survivors include sons, Lewis J. (Catherine Livingston-Fernandez), of Bethesda, Md., and David J., of Woodbridge, Va.; grandchildren, Alexander, Nicholas and Mary; nieces and nephews; great-nieces and nephews; and many friends. He was preceded in death by a brother, Albert; and a sister, Alicia. Services are private and are entrusted to WILLIG FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at a later date with inurnment following at St. Dominic Cemetery in Donora. I notice that we share a commom surname, Santana. My great-grandmother on my grandmother's side was Maria De los Dolores Santana Sanchez from Gran Canarias that migrated to Cuba. Her parents were Nicolas Santana y Raymon and Geronima Sanchez y Gil. Los padres de Nicolas eran Jose Prospero Santana and Maria Rita Raymon.

My great-great-grandmother's name was Jeronima Sanchez Gil and she was from Spain too. My great-grandmother, her daughter, was born around 1870-1873, and her name was Dolores Prospero Sanchez. Born in Spain too,Canary Islands, and died in Cuba.

My great Grandmother was Carmen Fernandez Galindo She was born in 1887 She had one brother that moved to Cuba. She married my Great Grandfather Miguel Sanchez Gil. They were married in Osuna-Seville Spain December 22, 1906 in the Chapel of the Fernandez home. My mothers family still lives in Spain. I do not know her brothers name and the family does not have any information on him. If any of this sounds familiar please let me know.
