Stuart, thanks so much for your reply and so nice to meet you!!! Since my post, I have talked to quite a few family members in Indiana...maybe we've talked?? I now know that Andrew's father was John Fife and he died when Andrew was about 8 years old of cholera. John's father was David Fife and he bought property in Lafayette township, Floyd County in the 1820's. I have a family tree named Fife Family on Ancestry if you would like to see the research I've done! It was great that you replied. Do you by chance know my husband's uncle John Fife (Jack), son of Robert and Lillie Fife? Your "sfiddle5" sounds quite a bit like someone Uncle Jack has talked about!! Thanks again, Carole Davis

Ifound you in the public stories section of Ancestry. I was really disappointed they weren't available to read so I googled your name to try to find you. I am trying to locate info on Isaiah Fife. I really think he was hatched. He married Sarah Gladden in Claiborne/Copiah (they applied for two marriage licenses mistakenly) and then moved to La. There are many children and Sam is my mother-in-law's grandfather. He has some relation to Isaac Wade, maybe the son of Gilbert But I can find absolutely nothing on him.
Help if you can?

Hi, I am Lady Fawn who corresponded with you a while back. I was and still am looking for my friend BETTY FIFE that I went to school with in Atlanta, and she married and moved to MIAMI. I have lately found that her parents were WALTON and GERTRUDE FIFE, her sister was named MARY ALICE and her brother was WALTON E. FIFE, JR. ( BUDDY). The Mother and father and the brother have passed away in Atlanta or the surrounding area. Wondering if any of these names have come up in your search. Would greatly appreciate any ifo you might have on them. Thanks, Leah Moore

Dear Jennifer,
thanks for your post - I don´t really know, some wrote me, they also were told that there were indians, other owners of family-trees said no...I am German and from here it´s not
easy to search, my father was from Louisiana, but he died when I was 17 - too young to ask many questions, I just remember, that he sometimes mentioned, that we were part Choctaw and he seemed to be very proud about this. Last year I ordered some books about Choctaw-People and in one of them there was a picture of a modern Chief - he could have been a brother of my dad, same mouth, same nose and ears, almost the same eyes...since then I´m sure, he didn´t just tell stories - but from which side this blood came from, I still don´t know...there are always so many other things to do and everytime a few month go by and I start to look into Ancestry again, I see that I have forgotten so many things again...there´s always not enough time for my search...
In your tree I saw Lenard - in other trees of my family I also found Lenard or Leonard or Lenhard...
How are you related to the Fife-Family ?
Would love to hear from you again - till then
Caroline from Bavaria, Germany
