This is quite a long shot, I have been looking for my biological Father for the last year. My birth name is Yolanda Nicole Figueroa, I was adopted soon after and now have a different last name. He and my Mother Dena Kinman split soon after I was conceived, no ill words were never spoken of him, ever. They both lived in Santa Ana, California. I have some health issues and would like some closure as now I have a child of my own. All I know is that he was approximately 26 years old in 1979 and possibly attended Santa Ana highschool earlier. If anyone can direct me to this Gentleman I would appreciate it. Yolanda Martinez

Thanks for response. Yes I know about brick walls, Mexican genealogy is unfortunately difficult at best, I am having the same problem with the Comaduran family line. Many of the church records were destroyed due to fires, or during the Mexican revolution (or so I have been told). Thanks again and good luck on your searches.

I wish I could help you, but none of the names you mention are in my family tree. The Mormon Church records are certainly the best place to look. Good luck with your search. I seem to have hit a brick wall with my Figueroa line in Alamos, Sonora and later chinipas, Chihuahua.

I am also looking for info on Figueroas from Sonora. On my father's side his mom (my Grand-Mother) there are Figueroas. My Great Grandfather was Jose Aniseto Figueroa Sanora married to Juanita Mendoza both were from Magdalena Sonora. My Great-great-granfather was Joaquin Sanora married to Ramona de Jesus Figueroa born in Venustiano Carranza Jalisco, my G-G-G-Granfather was Antonio Figueroa married to Narcissa Campos. I have not been able to find all the documents but have been using Mormon Church records and family spoken history. Any info would be appreciated.

Hello my name is Josefina Hettum. My maiden name is Figueroa. I am looking for my father Ricardo Quirarte Figueroa, in 1985-6 he worked in a South Lake Tahoe, California Pizza Hut. My mother tells me that he left her when she was four months pregnant. My mother said Ricardo has two sisters named Claudia and Maika and a living brother named Jose. According to Ricardo, his brother Ramon had died in Puerto Vallarta. I have recently developed a medical condition and it would be helpful to get a medical history. I would also enjoy meeting my father. Quirarte or Figueroa relatives from Ameca, Jalisco, Mexico would be very helpful.

My ancestor Yanacio Figueroa was married to Ygnacia Garcia. He was from Malaga,Spain. Was at the Yuma Uprising in 1781. He was adopted by an old Yuma couple.
Rescued by the Spanish soldiers from San Diego de Pitiquito, Sonora a few years later. Went to live in Sonora and married Ygnacia. They lived a Las Planchas, and Arizona ( a place west of Nogales, Sonora) and Oquitoa where their children are recorded in the church records. I found this information in Father Paul (Figueroa)letters and writings of 1917 at the Yuma Historical Society. I would like to know your source that says he was born in Sonora. I am a may Figueroa ancestors are Jose Maria Pascual, Plutarco, Pablo Figueroa, Gerturdis Contreras de Figueroa,Francisco Contreras, Maria Dolores Lorona,etc. Pablo Figueroa went to the Calif. Gold Rush with his father-in-law Francisco Contreras in 1849. The family moved to what is now Yuma about 1858. The two names you wrote are in my geneology. My father's family is also from Ciales, and also Manati. My father's name is Andres Figueroa Santos (deceased) born in Manati. My grandfather's name was Isaias Figueroa Laureano, grandmother's name was Florentina Santos de Figueroa. My father had 6 children named Carlos, Olga, Andres, Jr., Agapito, Iris Esther, and Doris Figueroa. They came to NY in the 1940s.

Hi I found this webpage and your comment is like ten years old My last name is Figueroa and I live in Sonora, in Guaymas thats on the Sonoran coast line most of my relatives in Sonora live in the southern part of the state of Sonora and Northern part of the State of Sinaloa that borders with Chihuahua, some of my uncles mention that the Figueroa's from these regions are from Chihuahua, during the mexican revolution some started to spread thru northeast and southeast Sonora and northern Sinaloa, thats one theory I have, My grandfather never talks to us about our ancestry but my fathers grandparents were from Chihuahua they were tall and white skin, so there can be a slight chance that we can all be related some how maybe my grandfathers dad was related to Juan Antonio Figueroa,my grandfathers last name is Figueroa De la Borbolla but he changed it to Figueroa Borbolla,

My father was Dimas Figuera and had a brother named Raul, and other brothers. Paco, Eminio, has a sister and think another other brother. They were from Maricao and Santurce. Also, I heard this name before Felix Figueroa. I must ask my mother. My father was killed in his grocery store in Maricao 28 Years ago and two other brothers dies after him from sickness. Does this ring a bell?
By the way, I think my grandmother was Rafaela Figueroa and was a Spain descendant.

Hi! Were from west texas. Our family comes from a small village called El Nayar. It's very near Durango and a bits drive from La Parilla. I'm sure our families are related. My husbands grandfather's name was Eliseo Figueroa ( probably related to your grandfather). He had I think 8 children. The ones that come to mind are: Jose, Juan, Miguel, Cheo, Olga, and Paquita. His wifes name was Tomasa; she is still alive about 70-80 years old. I know my husband had some family in mccallen, but I can't remember their names. Hope this helps!
