I am looking for any information on Nathaniel Finch born on Sept 19 1737 in Virginia died on Nov 2 1773. It is said he married a Cherokee Indian woman by the name of Millie (Molly) and had a daughter named Martha Patsy Finch. After Finch died Millie married John Elswick. If you have any documentation in your book about this or who Nathaniel Finch's parents were I'd really appreciate it. Millie would be my 5th great grandmother. Lisa

If you check out Irene SCHAFFER's web page or her book 'Edward MURPHY Soldier artist' or google edward MURPHY 99th regiment there is a fair bit of information on the net. Rosalie CARLISLE is also descended from Margaret MURPHY, whom was one of Henrys older sisters. She has an entry at the bottom of the email page to contact her.

Doug MURPHY

Am looking for info on James Hiram Finch. 1850 Fed Cen show James H. and Clarissa living in Tippah Co., MS (name tanscribed as "Pinch") with 7 children, 6 of whom were identified as having been born in North Carolina. 2 (or 3) children born later in MS. 2 sons: John B. and James Richard. Have some indication family may have lived in Illinois for a time. Can track Clarissa's line but have hit a brick wall with James Hiram. Will be pleased to share info that connects. Thanks.
Heck yeah I am very interested, I had got in touch with a Dr. bob finch in orange texas. He is son of Robert Finch, who is son of Jonathon I think, I think he is also son or grandson of Thadius. I get confused and I don't have my notes in front of me at this moment, but he is sending me some pictures of the five brothers of Thadius. Not sure if the your GGmother is in there I will let you know, Dr. Bob said he mailed them yesterday. How do I see your stuff? My dad was all over the country from Hattisburg MS, to Utah to Arizona. I grew up in Cliff, New Mexico, my step dad was a cowboy on a huge ranch, now I live in Silver City New Mexico, I am an electrical contractor. My phone number is 575-494-3134, and my e-mail is "patfinchgve@hotmail.com". Feel free to contact me anytime and please keep in touch. Thank you for responding, it's nice to be able to see about this side of my family. What is your name?

Well that is a sad story. I guess there have been a number of divorces starting pretty far back with this family. Feel free to look at whatever I have on this family. My greatgrandmother was Lillie Catherine Finch Hawkins and she was a daughter of Thadius Finch. She died before I was born so I only have what my mother told me and what I've found on Ancestry. But I do have the Finches pretty far back if that interests you. Where do you live? I grew up mostly in Jackson, MS but now live in upstate NY.

Hello, well I might be wrong on this not sure. I have just recently found my dad's dad. Which is Roy Paul Finch. His dad must be Paul Mitchell. Roy Paul was married to Barbara Allison. They had 1 son which is my dad Micheal Roy Finch. After their divorce my dad lost contact with his dad at the age of 17. Roy Paul got remarried and had another son, who is Keith Chappell Finch, I'm not sure what his moms name was. We did meet him finally last summer. According to Keith he grew up never knowing he had a brothers so there was never any contact on this side of my family for over 40+ years. Thats as far as I have gotten.

Hi Patrick, I have a Paul Mitchell Finch b. 1881 in Scott Co., MS as a son of Thadius; could this be the same as Roy Paul Finch? Also have a son of his as Roy Finch b. 1910 in MS. In the 1930 Census I see Paul Mitchell Finch living in Forrest Co., MS with his wife, Eloise Sharpe, his kids and his father in law, Rufus Sharpe. Also living with them is Mr. Sharpe's son, Grover, b. 1894 in MS. Does this sound like your Finches? I am trying to determine why Thadius and his first wife, Ann Eliza Faulkner, divorced and she and most of the children moved to Crowville, LA.

Rev Nathaniel Finch and Mary Miles

I was curious if anyone had ever investigated further the first wife (Mary 'Mercy' Miles) of Nathaniel Finch (1744-1829) and the three sons born to this union. Nathaniel later married Sarah Ferris, and then Abigail Smith. All of this info according to Claude B. Thummel.

Miles, son of Nathaniel and Sarah claims that the three sons of Nathaniel and the first wife Mary, died. My question is, 'when did they die?' It seems that it is possible that Miles could have written this information in his family bible long after his adulthood. This means that his step-brothers could have lived, had families of their own, and possibly died before their father passed on.

Catherine Britton (my ancestors)
William Finch b 1810-1812 (on census as brother to Francis)

I believe that Francis and William could be grandsons of William b ca1770

Please help. The finch family is elusive and it doesn't seem that any of them kept a family Bible to provide any details.

Robb

I just read a query from Bud Compton on the Finch family out of Wisconsin. I haven't been able to find out how to contact him to see if he needs more information about this family. They settled in Jefferson County, Wisconsin. Their daughter, R married our ancestor, George Ward, who died during the Civil War and is buried in Marietta GA. There is a lot of information on the finch family through the Dodge/Jefferson Historical Society and the Wisconsin Historical Society.

Hi,
So sorry, but, the link you sent would not work for me so I approached this in a different way.
I need help with Sarah Finch and Thomas P. Hainesworth/Ainsworth. The period would be in late 1600's or mid 1700"s.
They are the parents of, my relative, ainsley ainsworth, which was married to George Washington Redmond, one of my grandfathers.
I have noticed, that they, moved from South Carolina, to Alabama, to Mississippi where they past away.
If you could help me find out more information about them I would so deeply appreciate it and, if you need, I will share what I have in my ancestry.

Thanking you so much for reading this email and I wish you a great day.
Pat

I am looking for any information that someone can provide on William Finch (born around 1830-1835) who married Catherine Hays in 1849 in Port Elizabeth. Also, William Finch (1836-1885) who married Judith Hess in 1862 in Maurice River Twp. Initially, I thought they may be one and the same until I finally found both of them on the 1870 census.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Robb
