Looking for relatives of Hattie Ruth Finchum Lake Malaga WA

I'm looking for relatives of Hattie Ruth Finchum (maiden name of Hattie Ruth Stinnett). Hattie Died December 14th, 1998. She lived at Lake Malaga Washington. I am her nephew. I am also looking for any information on her brother, George Washington Stinnett or his living relatives. George would be about 90 years old as of 2012. He lived in Washington State from about 1947 to at least January 1977. George is my father. Any information about direct relatives of Hattie Ruth Finchum or George Stinnett would ba appreciated. Most of my family is from Sevier, Cocke and Jefferson Conuties. The area is where these three counties come together. There is an old Finchum family cemetery there. Eden Methodist Church, is where several of the Finchums are buried.

Did any of your Finchum's from VA and Sevier co come from Cocke CO, TN. My finchum's came from VA to NC then TN. MY direct line when from Cocke to Greene. But some of the brothers kids went into Sevier Co.

I have James being married twice. I have he married Lorena sometime before 1834, then he married a Mary. I don't think they are the same person. In 1850 census Mary has the last name Thomas and has two children.

I am related to Alexander's brother Anderson. I am looking for information on James and his father. I am especially interested in James's marriages. I have only found one listing anywhere for a wife and that was Lorena Mary Thomas, but in the 1950 census she is listed in the same household, but under the name Mary Thomas. Also James had children before she should have been having children. If the marriage date is correct then she would have been 14 at the time of their marriage so I am looking for date confirmation. I would be interesting in sharing what I have so far including Anderson's line.

my grandfather and his brothers lived in and around coffee county. I understand they moved from indiana as well. Their names are Roland, Truman and Beaufort Finchum. My grandfather was Beaufort. Father Roger Finchum Sr. I am Roger Finchum Jr. I have heard the name John Robert Finchum on several occasion. Will ask more questions.

This has been the hardest of all the families to track down mainly because they moved around a lot and are hard to find in census reports. The information below is from the 1860 cenus where Julia Finchum my gg grandmother. This shows Julia's siblings. She was the mother of Clarissa Amanda Clark b. 1872 who married Charles Christmas. They settled in Missouri. My grandfather, Chester Christmas b. 1894, married Edith Hulse b. 1898, daughter of James Hulse and Hattie Mae Proffitt.

Hi--My great-grandmother was Julia Ann Finchum, and I think she was born in Virginia. My grandmother was her daughter Grace, whom I think was born in Missouri. My cousin is the family geneologist and is working on my mother's parentage, but we haven't much to go on. Any information you could supply would make us deeply grateful.
We don't know how many children Julia had. Grace was Grace Wright, daughter of Julia and John Record Wright. Grace's husband disappeared, she died young, and her two daughters were put in an orphanage, so I've never been able to pull much together.

Grace's two girls were Irene and Beatrice Goodson, and I'm Bea's daughter.

Who was the father of Dora and Maude? My cousin says she and her mother once met an "Aunt" Maude in Omaha years ago but my cousin was young then and did not know Maude's last name or where she really lived. Grace was my cousin's grandmother.

No, I don't know when or where Julia and John were married. Dora's death certificate indicates she was born in Nov 1877 in Howell County, MO. and her father was John Wright. Elon D. Clark was still living then, so I assume he and Julia were divorced.
In the 1900 census Julia says she's had 9 children and 6 are living. I only know about 5 children, Idabelle, Clarissa, Dora, Maude and Grace. Do you know if Idabelle married? Do you know anything about the missing 4 children?

According to the 1925 Iowa State Census for Polk Township, Taylor County, where Julia was living at the time, her parents were Thomas Finchum and Susan Berry, both born in Virginia.

In 1860 Thomas and Susan and their children were in Hancock Township, Hancock County, Illinois, page 454 dwg 3224 h/h 3119.

Julia married Elon Clark (not John Clark) 2 Jan 1868 in Hancock County, IL. They had two children that I know about; Ida Belle, born about 1870 in Iowa and Clarissa, born 1872 in Missouri or Texas (conflicting information). Elon died of consumption caught in the war in May 1880 in Decatur County, Iowa. His parents were Samuel Clark and Lucinda Shelton. In either 1886 or 1888, Julia Clark Wright filed a Civil War Widow's Pension application for her and Ida Belle (Clarissa was not mentioned) stating that Elon was in the 51st Illinois Infantry.

Julia's brother, Isaiah, married Mary Jane Clark, sister of Elon, on 7 Jan 1868 in Adams County, Illinois. They ended up living in Andrew County, Missouri.

I'm researching the family of William A. Clark who died in Sangamon County, IL in 1831.

I am sorry to hear about your diagnosis. I am your half brother Joseph James ( J.J.) Finchum. My brother and sister are Tammi and Eric. My half brother and sister are Richy ad Ingred. My Grand Father was Wondern Alexander Finchum (his first name was Wondern not Alexander) and My Grand Mother was Irma Yberg.
I can only remember meeting you once after my mother and my/your father divorced. I still live on Long Island and was threatened by your mother (Mary-ann, my step mother) a few times never to contact her, you, or your sister, although it was fine for her to contact my sister Tammi a few times over the years. I read all the posts above and Susan is the only one I remember having known.
I was tempted to try and contact you after our Grandmother passed away because I had your address in AZ, but the thoughts of the threats from your mother kept me from doing so. I know little to nothing about that side of my family as well. I do have a few (but not much more than you) pictures of my Father. It was said once that he intended to leave me some of his artwork since that is the field I have persued in my life, as well as some pictures. I can only assume that your mother threw it all away.

Oh gosh it's been SO long since I've been on this site and I'm just now reading this message. You are right on the button with the information you gave. There is a lot that has happened though. I'm sure you know about Richie's accident. I'll update you on him if you respond to this. Yes I'm one of two daughters my father had with his last marriage, he would have married again but things got in the way of that. I'm 26 now, my sister is 22. I'm the 6th child, my sister the 7th. Yes their name was Yberg, I have copies of their death certificates because of Irma passing and leaving all of us in her will. I tried finding her and came to every road block imaginable then finding out she had passed was really an unhappy day for me. She was all I felt I had left of my father besides my sister. I only have one picture of my father, I wish I had more but that's another long story. If you get this (which I really hope you do) I'd like to talk to you off the message board if you don't mind? If you get this, please reply back... I'm SOO sorry I got this almost 2 years later. Oh and if you have any information would you know if Crohn's disease or Ulcerative Colitis runs in that part of our family? I was diagnosed with Crohn's disease pretty badly and can't figure out if anyone in my family had it or not.

You are my daughter Rebecca's great uncle. She is the eldest daughter of Jammie, son of Sharon. I am having a nightmarish time getting any information from Jammie about your family but I have compiled a great deal of family history on my own. I need more informaton on your mothers line. The Monday's. If you could help it would be greatly appreciated and I would gladly share all I have on th Finchum, Flinchum, Fincham line. So far I have them back to 1757 (another Robert) Stumped from that point on.

My Great Grandfather had a brother named Charles Vinson 'Charley' he was born December 5, 1883 Cocke Co, and died in 1972 Cocke Co, TN (I think that is when he died). I have him being married to Anna Sexton (this information was given to me, so I hope its correct), thay had Pearl, CLayton, Sam, Charles and Mabry.
If I remember right, there was some other Charles in my files.

What part of TN? My Finchum's started in Stokes NC, then they went to Cocke Co, TN. And my line of Finchum's went to Greene Co, TN. My Great Grandfather was Allen Finchum, his Father Alexander Finchum, his Father James Madison Finchum and his Father William Finchum.

I am your cousin.

My name is Susan and your grandparents, Irma and Wondy were my great aunt and uncle. I have very fond memories of being at their home in East Nothport, Long Island. My family used to go there almost every Sunday for dinner. Your father was my 2nd cousin. I believe he was married 3 times and my guess is, you are either 6th or 7th child.

Your grandmother Irma is my blood relative. She and my grandmother (Doris) were sisters. They were in fact from Sweden. They took a ship here when they were young. They came through Ellis Island. My Grandmother, Doris and her father came first and a year or so later your grandmother Irma came with her mother Elsa (sp?). Their last names were Yberg I believe. I have many photos of them.

I knew your father pretty well and I believe I met your mother once. I got married in 1980 and your father took the pictures at my wedding. I believe I met your mother than. I have met your step brothers and sisters. Richie is the oldest, Ingrid is his sister. Their mother is Maria. Then there was Eric, Tammy and JJ, their mother is Diane. And I believe you are one of two daughters, Dick had with his last wife. I assume you are in your twenties. I have two daughter too. One is 23, her name is Janice and the other is 18 and her name is Amanda.

If you would like to contact me, feel free. I think I can help you put some of the pieces together.

Please don't let anyone tell you, you don't have enough Swedish blood to count. I personally have a lot of Swedish pride and my family and I celebrate a lot of Swedish holidays and events.

Seeking information including parentage on Julia Finchum who married (1) John Clark and (2) JR Wright. Julia and John had a daughter Clarissia (Clara) Amanda Clark born in West Plains, Howell Missouri (according to her death certificate) and died March 18, 1951 in Fillmore, Andrew County, Missouri. The 1900 census says Clara was born in Texas. Clara married Charles Christmas. They had 9 children all born in Fillmore, Missouri.

Hello, I am Kenneth Delmas Finchum son of Walter Delmas Finchum son of Lawson Finchum in Belmont North Carolina. I'm 50 years old ( father and grandfather dead). I have no children. Married to Norma Miller for 6 years. Most of my family is fron Tenn.

My grandmother was Pearlie Jane Finchum, daughter of George Hill Finchum and Nancy Anne Lowe. They originated from around the Russellville, AR. area.
