Hi Firth hunters: I am looking for any info on Arthur Firth of Heywood, Lancs., b. 26 June 1852, m. Eliz. Williamson McILVENA b. 18 June 1866. I see in listings there is an Arthur and Betty Firth, however, I do not know if Elizabeth was ever called 'BETTY'. To her family, she was known as TEBA. There are headstones in the Heywood Cemetery, apparently. I would VERY MUCH appreciate being able to receive photos of same!
Their son was Norman Firth, he died at 2 yrs. They had Hugh Firth who married and had Alan, Harry and Leonard, all FIRTHs. Nothing much else is known on this line. If you see any similarities, please notify me. Thanks for any returns.

Sutcliffe Firth (born 1823) was married to a Betty and was 5th mayor of Heywood. Sutcliffe was Arthur's father. Arthur's first wife was Betty Hardman, with whom he had 7 children. Leonard was the only one of Elizabeth Mcilvena's children to have childrenof their own. He married Helen Greenhalgh, had one daughter Joy, who was my mother.

Hi butcher: thanks for responding. Seems we are related.
Elizabeth McIlvena Firth (Teba, in our family) was my gr.aunt. Looking for any Firth info I can glean, and photos, as well. None in Canada, all the elders are deceased. Would appreciate personal contact offsite, if possible.
cheers, Marilyn

Hi Marilyn
The Firth's are on my wife Helen's side so she is the one to talk to. I know her father has many old photos. Drop me a message on pgdbutcher@aol.com and I will pass it on to her
Regards
Peter
