We're searching for family of Valentine Firth, a stone mason living in Mirfield, Yorkshire from about 1801-1863. He married Ann Clarkson (b. abt. 1801) and had children Mary, Ann, Edward, Joseph, William, David, Sarah, and Alfred. We don't know the names of Valentine's parents, although in the 1841 census, there is a Sarah Firth living with them who was born about 1761.

We're descended through Valentine & Ann's son, David (b. abt. 1834), who married Mary McClure in Birkenhead, Chesire in 1862 and immigrated to Hackensack and then Lopatcong, NJ in 1869. David and Mary had children David J., Margaret, William, Joseph, Alfred, and Ella. If any of this sounds familiar, we'd love to hear from you.

Not my line exactly but they are distant cousins from Mirfield.

Just about everybody in Mirfield is a cousin in one form or another to me. :-))
