Belturbet Fitzpatricks

Just a short note for anyone searching for Fitzpatricks from Belturbet. Belturbet town is interesting in that it spans 3 parishes. Annagh, Urney and Drumlane. So if you are searching for church records you have a selection of places to go depending on where abouts in Belturbet your ancestors may have come from.

The River Erne separates Annagh from Drumlane and Urney follows the River Erne from Belturbet towards Killashandra on the east side.

There are several graveyards...
Staghall Church&Graveyard (Drumlane)
Drumlane Abbey (Drumlane) (Old graveyard near Milltown, Belturbet, on site of Drumlane Abbey with round tower)
Clonosey Graveyard (Annagh) (No longer used)
Annagh Graveyard (Annagh) (Old Graveyard one side of the road, new graveyard on the other side)
Urney Graveyard (Urney)
Drumalee Church&Graveyard (Annagh)

Hope this helps!
P. Fitzpatrick

Obituary: William John FitzPatrick (1830-1895)

Mr. W. J. Fitzpatrick
Mr. William John Fitzpatrick, J.P., LL.D., a well-known writer, who was the author of a number of biographical and historical works, died yesterday morning at his residence in Fitzwilliam-square, Dublin.

Mr. Fitzpatrick was an industrious and prolific writer, and a memoir of the late Father Healy, P.P., of Bray, which is published this week, is from his pen. He was a careful and minute compiler of anecdotes and circumstances which illustrated the character and inner life to the persons whom he selected as the subjects of his literary labours. He was chiefly known as the author of ''The Sham Squire and the Informers of 1798,'' of which 16,000 copies were sold. The "sham squire" was a spy in the service of the Government at the time of the rebellion of 1798. His ''Life, Times, and Companions of Bishop Doyle'', in two volumes has been lately been republished. He also wrote ''The Life, Times, and Contemporaries of Lord Cloncurry''; ''The Friends, Foes, and Adventures of Lady Morgan''; ''anecdotal Memoirs of Archbishop Whately'', in two volumes; ''Lord Edward Fitzgerald and His Betrayers: or, Notes on the Cornwallis Papers''; ''Ireland before the Union, with the Unpublished Diary of Lord Chief Justice Clonmel, 177401798'', which has gone into six editions; ''Irish Wits and Worthies, with Dr. Lanigan: his Life and Times''; ''Charles Lever: a Biography''; and ''Life of Father Tom Burke''. In 1888 he published ''The Correspondence of Daniel O'Connell, with His Life and Times''. Mr. Gladstone wrote an article in the ''Nineteenth Century'' on this book, and alluded to it in public speeches. Leo XIII. When he was Papal Nuncio, had known Daniel O'Connell, and to mark his satisfaction with Mr. Fitzpatrick's book he conferred on him in 1889 the Grand Cross of the Order of St. Gregory the Great. In 1892 Mr. Fitzpatrick issued ''Secret Service under Pitt'', which was welcomed by Home Rulers on account of the ''revelations'' which it contained as to the methods by which the Act of Union passed.

Mr. Fitzpatrick was the son of Mr. John Fitzpatrick, of Thomas-street, Dublin and Griffinwrath, co. Kildare. He was born on August 31, 1830, was educated first at a Protestant school and afterwards at the Roman Catholic College of Clongowes Wood. He was a magistrate and grand juror for the counties of Dublin and Longford, a member of the Royal Irish Academy, an honorary member of the Royal Hibernian Academy of Arts, and one of the executive of the Royal Dublin Society. In 1876 he was appointed by the Viceroy for the second time High Sheriff of the county of Longford.

Source: The Times, Wednesday, Dec 25, 1895; Issue 34769; pg. 4; col C; Obituary Mr. W.
John Davis Fitzpatrick born early 1800's or late 1700's father of Thomas Fitzpatrick who died in civil war

Thomas Fitzpatrick born around 1827 and died around 1863 during the civil war. His father is listed as John Davis Fitzpatrick. There seems to be some family trees that are linking John Davis Fitzpatrick further down the line. I believe those links are incorrect. I believe John Davis Fitzpatrick came from Ireland with 3 brothers. The story is there were 4 Fitzpatrick brothers who came from Ireland together. My question is who are all 4 of the brothers? Then who were their parents? Who did John Davis Fitzpatrick marry? Who was Thomas Fitzpatrick's mother? Does anyone have any information or clues to these questions?

FitzPatrick Miltown Malbay seeking information on Catherine and Michael who emigrated to US.

Catherine (Katie) emigrated to US in 1906 and Michael in 1912. Unable to find data on either after entry in Ellis Island. According to family members Michael worked as a conductor for Interborough City Railway and died in an accident in 1919.

Katie married a man called "Dubois Releigh" or "Releigh" not sure if spelling is correct. The family says that her husband died young and she was employed by the New York Policy Force but I've been unable to confirm any of the above information.

Any help would be appreciated. I am including some information on Fitzpatrick births in the Miltown Malbay area and hope they will prove useful.

My research focus on the FitzPatrick name was in the townland of Kilcorcoran just outside Miltown Malbay and found 3 FitzPatrick families there - probably all related but to date I have not been able to make the connection. My source is the parish records for Miltown Malbay (parish also called Kilfarboy).

The parish records have a Thomas FitzPatrick married to Anne McMahon whose children were baptised in Miltown - Bridget in 1866, Thomas in 1867 and Hannah in 1876. They are recorded as living in Illane, Caherduff areas outside Miltown but close to the town.

There was also a Frank FitzPatrick married to an Evaline Hall or Ellen Wall (the microfiched records which I accessed in the National Library are difficult to read and spelling of surnames depended on the ability of the person making the record so it can vary). Frank and Ellen had a son Thomas baptised in 1843 and a daughter Mary baptised in 1845 - these Fitzpatricks lived in the Village.

Another Francis FitzPatrick married Bridget Meade, they lived in Kilcorcoran and had the following children Ellen baptised 1871, Catherine 1873, Bridget 1874 a child baptised in 1876 but it was impossible to read the name, Michael in 1878 and Margaret in 1880.

John FitzPatrick married to Mary Darcy have two recorded baptisms Thomas in 1860 and Pat in 1862 - townland not entered.

I don't have townlands for the following children - John FitzPatrick and Catherine Downes had a duaghter Mary in 1853. John FitzPatrick and Bridget Healy a son Lawerence in 1847. John FitzPatrick and Bridget Hurley daughter Bridget in 1842 (possibly the same couple) and John FitzPatrick and Bridget O'Hea son Thomas in 1845 (again may be the same couple).

Mattias or Matt FitzPatrick and his wife Bridget Stack who lived in Ballard (a name used to describe the area close to the graveyard which is in the townland of Kilcorcoran) had Helen in 1834, Thomas in 1837, Eliza in 1838, Margaret in 1839, Bridget in 1841 and Michael in 1852.

Michael FitzPatrick married to Margaret Doyle living in Liegard had a son Michael in 1844.

Michael FitzPatrick married to Ellen or Helen Egan living in Kilcorcoran had the following children Frank in 1833, Helen and Anne twins in 1842 and Honor in 1845.

Michael FitzPatrick married to Margaret Glynn living in Ballard had the following children Thomas in 1873, Michael in 1875, John in 1877 and Patrick in 1879.

Michael FitzPatrick and Honor Kelly are recorded as having two daughters called Catherine one in 1840 and one in 1844 they lived in Caherogan.

Michael FitzPatrick married to Mary Morrissey had two children Thomas in 1861 and Pat in 1862.

Michael FitzPatrick and Anne Sexton had 7 children according to the parish records Matthias in 1838, Margaret in 1840, John in 1841, Mary in 1843 - I know that Mary emigrated to Australia, Cathrine in 1845, Bridget in 1847 - Bridget married and lived in Shandrum (about 3 miles south of Miltown), Michael in 1852 who was living in the Main Street in Miltown Malbay in 1901 and Anne who married and lived near Ennistymon (approximately 10 miles north of Miltown). If anyone has any further information on this family I would be grateful for any details that you have.

There was also a Michael FitzPatrick married to Honor Talty in Ballyvaskin (again a townland outside Miltown) they had two children Eliza 1844 and Thomas 1845.

There was a Pat FitzPatrick married to Bridget Darcy who had a son Martin in 1872 recoded as living in Miltown.

Thomas FitzPatrick married to Mary Hogan living in Clahanmore had a son Francis in 1875.

Thomas FitzPatrick married to Anne McMahon had 3 children Mary in 1859, Michael in 1862 and Ellen in 1874 they are recorded as living in Caherduff.

Thomas FitzPatrick married to Ann O'Sullivan or Hannanh Sullivan also recorded as Ann Sullivan (when recording births the "O" in surnames frequently disappeared only to reappear later). They had Patrick in 1836, Thomas in 1837, Connor in 1839, Matthias in 1843 and Anne in 1869 and are recorded as living in Ballard/Illane - again Illane is a townland close to Ballard so it's probably the same family.

That's all I have on FitzPatrick's in the Miltown Malbay area and as the parish records for marriages doesn't start until 1859 it's difficult to tie the families together. The microfiched parish records end around 1878 and I am not aware of any plans to do the rest of the century anytime soon.

If anyone has information on what happened these families and is willing to share please let me know.

Many thanks,

Mary

Patrick Fitzpatrick and wife Margaret Laydon, Greene Co., Illinois

I am trying (again) to see if anyone can tell me about: Patrick Fitzpatrick, died 25 Nov 1865, age 24, buried with his wife Margaret Laydon who died 13 Jan 1868 age 30; in Old Catholic Cemetery aka Coonville Cemetery, Carrollton Twp., Green Co., Illinois. Patrick is a "Native of Milltown, County Clare, Ire." and wife Margaret "born Co. Clair, Ire." I am hoping that somehow they tie into the Fitzpatricks that I have been working on in Carrollton who are married into the Kelleher/Kalehar/Kalaher (and so on) families. If anyone has information about this Fitzpatrick couple, I would love to hear from you.....

William Henry Fitzpatrick

I am seeking additional information on my grandfather by marriage William Henry Fitzpatrick, who married my grandmother Minnie Hurlburt around 1940-1945. William was born 1/26/1885 in Ottawa, Canada and died 3/27/1955 in Los Angeles, CA. Father Samuel Fitzpatrick is listed on his death certificate but there is no listing for his mother. After searching Canadian records and enlisting help from the message boards, I have come to believe William's parents may be Samuel Fitzpatrick and Nellie Bigford but I have not been able to confirm it. Any help with this Fitzpatrick line would be appreciated.

Elaine

An 1817 marriage in Kildorrery, Cork, Ireland, for Joanna Fitzpatrick and Maurice Galway (Gallagher)

Is anyone researching this family? Joanna Fitzpatrick married Maurice Galway in the Roman Catholic parish of Kildorrery, Cork, in 1817. Both were residents of Ballynoulty. Witnesses were John Doran and David Carroll.
Although Maurice has the name Galway, I believe he was from one of the families who switched the spelling from Gallagher to Galway at one point in time, probably to differentiate themselves from another direct line.

Charles FITZPATRICK and Mary TUCKER- Cheboygan Co MI 1888-1889 and beyond

Hi,

I'm wondering if there is someone out there who is working on this family. My interest is Mary TUCKER as she is my ggrandfather's sister. Here is what I know about them. Mary Malica TUCKER was born in Ontario ca. 1862 to Hiram TUCKER and Thursday Emeline RINESS. I found her marriage to Charles in the Cheboygan Co MI Marriage records in Feb of 1889. Charles James FITZPATRICK was listed as being born in Sandusky, O....not sure if this is OH or Ontario. His parents listed were James FITZPATRICK and Anne last name unreadable. I tried to track these 2 down on Ancestry through the census records, but am unable to pinpont them in the 1900 census for MI or the rest of the United States for certain. Does anyone out there connect to this family and might you have further information on them? Thank you,

Iris Peppers
Michigan
Robert FERGASON/FERGUSON m. Mary FITZPATRICK - about 1721 Scotland

Robert FERGASON/FERGUSON m. Mary FITZPATRICK - about 1721 Scotland

Our female Fergason/Ferguson direct line is as follows:
Clarissa Ann Fergason born 9/28/1856 Alabama died 4/21/1906 Parker Co, TX (husband William Jackson Craig)

William R. (Russel) Fergason born 6/8/1825 South Carolina died 10/8/1886 Lawrence Co, AL (wife Sara Jane Harris)

Clement Fergason born 1791 North Carolina died 5/25/1856 Lawrence Co, AL (wife Mary LNU)

Robert Fergason born 1765 North Carolina died 1/1850 Greenville Co, SC (wife Cassander - believed to be full blooded Cherokee)

Until this past week end, Robert Fergason/Ferguson was our brick wall. Based on some new information given to me by a professional genealogist from Nesbo, North Carolina, we now strongly believe the father of our Robert Fergason is:

Andrew Ferguson born about 1724 Scotland died 7/25/1810 Lincoln Co, NC(wife Mary) who was the son of

Robert Ferguson born about 1700 Scotland, died 12/3/1794 Tyrone/Lincoln Co, NC (wife Mary Fitzpatrick married about 1721 Scotland; married Sarah Sims about 1760 in PA probably York Co) who was the son of

John Ferguson born about 1685 Scotland (wife Margaret Douglas).

Robert Fergason/Ferguson and Mary Fitzpatrick had three sons: Andrew born 1724 Scotland, Robert born 1722 Scotland, and William born 1726 Scotland. They migrated to colonial America mid 1700s.

Who are the parents and siblings of Mary Fitzpatrick?

I'm hoping that someone on this board may be able to help me confirm this.

thank you,
LuAna Drake Craig
New info re Fitzpatrick's of Central new York

I had a bit of a breakthrough in my Fitzpatrick Family Tree. I have documentation showing John Fitzpatrick marrying Ellen Coughlin on Dec 10 1837. The marriage which took place in Doneraile Parish was peformed by Rev Father Daily (or Daly). I believe that John was the son of Dennis Fitzpatrick and Mary (or Ellen) Scully.
John had ten siblings several of whom emigrated to the US in 1846. Among these were Brothers: Patrick, Matthew, and Jeremiah and Sisters: (I think)Catherine, Mary and Margret.
Any and all inputs are welcome.

SARAH2 FITZPATRICK, b. 28 Jul 1818, Pennsylvania; d. 24 Oct 1898, Wamic, Wasco, Oregon; m. (1) WILLIAM NORVAL, 10 Sep 1837, Butler County, Ohio; m. (2) WILLIAM H. MCATEE, 18 Aug 1844, Pike County, Illinois; b. 12 Sep 1825, Kentucky; d. 12 Nov 1890.

Notes for SARAH FITZPATRICK:
From Rick Cantrell email 11/27/2006

"Mrs. Sarah McAtee, whose death at Wamic [Wasco County, Oregon] on Oct. 24, 1898, was mentioned in The Dispatch of that date, was a pioneer of Oregon and a resident of Wasco county for over a third of a century.

"Mrs. McAtee was born in Pennsylvania, July 28, 1818. Her parents removed to Ohio when she was only two years old, and in the latter state her childhood days were spent; and there she was married to Wm. Norval by whom she had one son-- Thos. Norval, now a resident of Wamic. Mr. Norval lived but a short time and from there the family moved to Illinois, where she was wedded to Wm. McAtee in 1838, and to them three children were born-- Mrs. A. J. Swift of Wamic, Mrs. W. R. Cantrell of Dufur and Mrs. A. Richardson of Lane county.

"Mr. and Mrs. McAtee crossed the plains with an ox team in 1853, and settled in Lane county, Or., where they remained for about ten years, coming to Wasco county in 1864. For years they conducted a hotel on the Canyon city road near the Deschutes river, and in 1881 retired to their handsome farm home in Tygh Valley, to rest. Here after a wedded life of fifty-two years Mr. McAtee died, Nov. 12, 1890. From this time the feebleness of grief and old age caused Mrs. McAtee to lead a retired life, and her death at four score years, passed with little comment-- but in the Old Days when Wasco county meant all of Eastern Oregon, and The Dalles was not only the county seat, but the main trading post of the entire Inland Empire, there was no more popular stopping place on the road to the interior than the "McAtee Place," where now stands the deserted orchard on the Shearer grade; and in those days there were few women better known to the traveler on Eastern Oregon's mountain roads and none more esteemed for kindness and hospitality than Mrs. Sarah McAtee."

This was given to me by Norman Lloyd Morrow, a great, great grandson of Sarah McAtee's through Thomas Norval.

More About SARAH FITZPATRICK:
Burial: Aft. 24 Oct 1898, Tygh Valley (Pioneer) Cemetery, Wasco, Oregon
Census 1: 1840, Pike County, Illinois
Census 2: 1850, Township 4 S 7 W, Pike, Illinois
Census 3: 1860, Richardson (Franklin PO), Lane, Oregon
Census 4: 1870, Tygh Valley (The Dalles PO), Wasco, Oregon
Census 5: 1880, Tygh, Wasco, Oregon (listed as McTEE)
Residence 1: Bet. 1853 - 1864, Lane County, Oregon
Residence 2: Abt. 1820, Ohio
Residence 3: Bet. 1864 - 1898, Wasco County, Oregon
Residence 4: 1891, Oregon

More About WILLIAM H. GAINES:
GenForum Posting by Renee Kerr; Citation "Bio of Pike and Calhoun counties"

November 2002

Samuel B. Gaines is a well-known and wealthy farmer and stock-raiser of Pike County. He is an honored resident of Kinderhook Township, where he has a large, well managed farm and one of the most pleasant homes in this part of the county. He was born in Otsego County, New York, April 19, 1821, his father, Ebenezer Gaines, having been a pioneer of that region. He was born and reared in Connecticut, coming of a sterling ancestry and was there married to Ann Blakesley, who was also born and reared in Connecticut. They were married in Hartford County, that State, and then moved to New York, where he engaged in farming. While yet in life's prime his busy career was closed his untimely death at the age of 35. He was the father of 6 children, 3 sons (Julius W., Lester K. Samuel B.) and 3 daughters (Sophronia, Lydia, and Ann). Only Ann and Samuel B. are now living.

Samuel B. was the fourth child and third son of his parents. When he was 21 he went to Ohio and engaged in the clock business there for a time. Then he proceeded to Tennessee where he was engaged in the same calling for about 18 months. He returned to Ohio and in the month of June 1844 he married Miss Margaret M. Twaddle in Huron County, the county of her birth. She accompanied her husband to Pike County where she died in March 6, 1849. She was buried in Kinderhook Cemetery.

Mr. Gaines married a second time, taking as his wife, Mary, a daughter of Thomas and Lydia Fitzpatrick. Mary was born in Butler County, Ohio, February 8, 1831 and came to Pike County in 1838 with her parents. They located in Kinderhook Township, where she went to school in a log schoolhouse with puncheon floor. Her parents were pioneers of the county and took up their residence in a log house. They had 10 children of whom 6 are now living (Sarah, Mrs. McTee, who lives in Oregon; James also a resident of that state; Susan, Mrs. Benson, who lives in Kinderhook; Thomas, a resident of Kinderhook; William, a resident of Tye Valley, Oregon.

There have been born to Mr. and Mrs. Gaines 11 children, 6 daughters and 5 sons.
Dorinda A. married A. J. Liggett of Hannibal, Missouri
Lydia lives at home
Mary Ella married J. W. Clutch of Kinderhook
Sylvester S. and Edward N. live in Barry Township and Barry City respectively
Minnie M. married Arthur S. Clark in September 1890
One child died in infancy
Joseph F died at the age of 5
Charles, James T, and Carrie B. each died at the age of 1year.

In 1846 Mr. Gaines made an important move in his life when he came to Illinois to make his home. In 1847 he brought his wife and located in Kinderhook Township on section 36, on a tract of 190 acres of land. He erected a good house and developed a farm which became one of the best improved places in that township. He remained there until 1860 and then built a store in Kinderhook and went into the mercantile business while still carrying on his farming business. He was eminently successful in his business enterprises and used to handle grain very extensively, besides having a well fitted up store where he sold merchandise of all descriptions. He greatly prospered in his agricultural pursuits and at one had 600 acres of good land. He has since disposed of most of it, but still retains 337 1/2 acres, of which 140 acres are in Barry. He has 14 buildings on his place, including a fine barn, ice houses, granary, etc. He has 17 head of good horses and other stock. His house has 14 rooms and he has 4 other dwelling houses besides a substantial store building.

Mr. Gaines is pre-eminently a self-made man. He was left fatherless at the age of 4 and has always had to rely on his own resources since he was large enough to earn his own living. He never had anything given to him but a pair of socks. He stayed with one man 13 years for which he only received 50 cents. He cleaned horses and did chores of all kinds for which he got a penny at a time. From this he managed to save $21 which became the nucleus of his present fortune.

He has served as Township Collector and Assessor, has represented Hadley Township on the County Board of Supervisors, was Township Trustee for 16 years, has been Road Commissioner, School Director and School Trustee for several years, and served 12 or 15 years as Postmaster. He is highly regarded in social and religious circles, is a Mason, a stanch Republican and one of the leading members of the Baptist Church where he has been a Deacon for 39 years. His wife is also a consistent member of that Church.

He has made two trips to Connecticut to Illinois by team.

More About SAMUEL B.
A. W. Fitzpatrick - Dwight, IL

Found a dog tag for an A. W. Fitzpatrick. I'm guessing it is Korean War or prior. No dates given. It uses the ID instead of the current SSN for ID. It lists below his information M. Fitzpatrick, RFD 1, Dwight, IL. I haven't found Fitzpatrick in my tree. I searched a bit on Ancestry.com and found what might be the person, 1920 census Albert Fitzpatrick, born abt 1916 whose mothers name is Margaret. Anyone looking for an A. W. Fitzpatrick who lived in Dwight, IL who served in a war? My relatives are from the Dwight area, so we might be related.

Philip Augustus Fitzpatrick

Philip Augustus Fitzpatrick is my great great grandfather and I have hit dead ends. He was born around 1830 and came to New York in 1852. He shows married to Bridget Daly Fitzpatrick in the 1860 census and in 1870, they have two sons, John J. and Philip A. (there was a daughter -- Anges G. or Nellie -- born in 1873.) On an Emmigrant Bank application, he lists Belturbet as where he is from. He died in 1874 and was buried in Calvary Cemetery with a very substantial marker and a large plot where other Dalys and Fitzpatricks were subsequently buried. He was a builder and lived in midtown MAnhattan in a neighborhood of professionals where he owned his own home and had servants. Bridget never married but continued to live in the same area, own and trade property until her death in 1910. Son Philip A. married Isabella Duncan Bogart. He died in Glen Cove around 1913 (I descend from him). Son John J. is unmarried, living with his mother Bridget in 1900, but then I lose all trace of him. Daughter Agnes Grace Fitzpatrick (listed as single) is living with her mother Bridget in 1900, but that is the last I have of her. There is an 18-year-old granddaughter Grace M. living with Bridget in 1910, but I don't know where she comes from or what happens to her after that. I have had no luck tracing Philip Augustus' family back to Ireland or in tracing any relatives besides those in my immediate family. Any help, ideas or suggestons would be appreciated.

FITZPATRICK BELTURBET

My great great grandmother was Susan Fitzpatrick from Derryvona, near Belturbet, Co Cavan. She married James McCaffrey. Two of their children, who we think were twins, were Susan and Edward, born about 1863. I do not know if there were other children. Ned was killed in Belfast by a runaway horse. Susan lived to a great age and lived on Barrack Hill, Belturbet, after her marriage to Samuel Blyth. She was blind in later years, and was my great grandmother, dying in the early 1950s.

I'm researching part of my Fitzpatrick family line. I really don't know much about them. All I can tell you is what I have been able to piece together from some writing on old photographs that I found in an album after my grandmother died.

Elizabeth McConnell was born in Ireland and died in Pennsylvania. She married a man who's last name was Fitzpatrick but I do not know his first name. They had the following children:

Margaret Aloysuis Fitzpatrick born January 24, 1856 in Dunkirk New York. She married James Daly in Tittsbille Pennsylvia in 1873. They had 9 children.

Daniel Fitzpatrick married Kit (I'm assuming Katherine) Donovan. They had two children Edna and William. On the back on of one of the photographs of Edna it says she and her husband were teachers at Cornell University.

Mary Fitzpatrick married William Huston.

Kathryn Fitzpatrick married Andrew G. Shephard. They had four children.

Annie Fitzpatrick married a man by the last name of Kearns.

I would love to find out more about these people and share the photographs I have of them, they are realy beautiful pictures with those they are related to. I am also dying to learn their father's name so I can continue some research.

Thanks :o)

(Fitzpatrick/Patrick) Most Wanted

I have been researching my husband's great-great grandfather, Edward Fitzpatrick. From his war pension application from Washington DC, I finally got his exact birthdate February 16, 1760. But this story was taken from his family bible and passed down thru the generations. Here goes:

"When a very small boy, his mother took him and his brother (no name) to their summer home in Ireland. When playing on the beach, they were kidnapped and put aboard a ship to be cabin boys. Upon arriving to the States (unknown location), they both jumped ship and went their seperate ways, never to see each other again."

I have his marriage date, death date spouse, children etc. I could gather that info from US records. We know after he and his wife started having children, the "Fitz" was dropped and he went by the name of Edward F. Patrick.

We also know that he was from the northern part of Ireland. But I have paperwork implying that he was born in Scotland and some paperwork implying that he was born in Ireland.

I do believe since traveling took so long, that he could have traveled back and forth from the "Mull Island" area in Scotland, since that is the closest point to Ireland.

I have no other information about him to offer but his exact birthdate.

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Sandy Patrick

Her name was Ann "Annie" Leonard Fitzpatrick, and she married James Armstrong either in the states or in Canada.

Here are the names mentioned in the Bible... if they sound familiar to anyone, please contact me at kristie.edwards@sbcglobal.net. Thanks!

Thomas Leonard (born 2Feb1779) married Bridget Morris on 29Nov1807. They had 1 surviving daughter: Mary Ann Leonard (born 23Nov1811).

Mary Ann Leonard married John Fitzpatrick on 7Jan1833. Their children were:
Thomas Leonard Fitzpatrick (born 30Oct1833)
Mary Fitzpatrick (born 10Dec1836)
Francis Fitzpatrick (born 24Sept1838)
John Fitzpatrick (born 29Jan1841)
Bridget Fitzpatrick (born 22Jan1843)
Elizabeth Fitzpatrick (born 20Jan1845)
Ri(t)chard Fitzpatrick (born 22May1847)
