Thomas Flint – 1500s - 1600s
I have been tracing a Flint family which was settled in Scotland (Dumfriesshire) in the 19th century. They migrated to Scotland (Lanarkshire) in the late 1600s/early 1700s from Westmorland.
My interest is in where they originally came from. A biography of one of the descendants mentions the Buxton area but this is pure speculation.
Has anyone researching Flints in Derbyshire 'misplaced' a family circa 1597?
Thomas and Robert are names which run through to the 19th century and 2 occupations which dominate are stonemasons and shepherds.
Hoping that someone might be able to point me in the right direction
