Is this Lewis Benjamin Flint born 12 March 1857 WI and son of Andrew Levi FLint & Phylinda Tuttle? Lewis Benjamin married Anna Marie Senholt and had a daughter Eva Blanche FLint who was widowed from a Rich by age 26. Blanche had a daughter Lavelle Marie Rich age 4 in 1930 census. I am trying to determine what happened to Blanche (I know she died in AK in 1963 but did she remarry and have children?) and what happened to Lavelle? Lavelle dob 1926 should be 86 now. She is related to my half sister who is looking for her and any sibs that might exist. thx.

His only son, George Henry, emigrated to Canada in 1904 with his wife and eldest children.
If your Flint family is traced to the London, England area, there's a possibility that we could get a connection.
Jeanette

It is available on online. I have also used it. I was doing a study of all of the men named Flint who were on lists as having marched on the Lexington Alarm and needed to be able to sort out the other lines also. That is when I figured that the Adventuresome Seven book would help. Most of the men who were named Flint and marched on the Alarm were descendants of our Thomas Flint of Salem (although a number came up from Connecticut branches of his descendants). Most of the other lines did not have anywhere as many male lines so the Flint name was dominated to an extent by Thomas' descendants.

I appreciate the advice.

I'm happy that the "Adventuresome" book was useful. However, the book that will really nail down the Thomas Flint of Salem Family for you is "A Genealogical Register of the Descendants of Thomas Flint of Salem". It lists seven generations, all direct descendants of Thomas from his arrival in Salem through to 1850's. The author is John Flint. The book is available through the Higginson Book Company (I have no financial stake in the company) or its available online through heritagequest.com by searching "books", "people" and "flint". Heritagequest is something my library offers free to local residents. I can't suggest strongly enough seeking out this book. It lists every single ancestor (known at the time of publishing) in numerical genealogic order.
I descend from the Thomas Flint of Salem line. I found a used copy of the two volume set for $25 and bought it. It has pretty useful information for my line. I have gradually been working back through and documenting the information they provide to vital records, etc.

I was wanting to identify men named Flint who marched on the Lexington Alarm and the book was pretty helpful in sorting through a bunch of the names and then pointing me in the right direction to look for vital records.

Thomas 1 Flint > Joseph 2 Flint > Nathaniel 3 Flint > Nathaniel 4 Flint > Benjamin 5 Flint > [Amelia 6 Flint married Lyman Benson] -----------> Ronald 12 Benson

It depends on which branch of the Flint Family you're researching. The "Adventuresome" book has little about the "Salem" Flints and quickly leaves Salem and details the Flints that settled in Concord, MA. and Virginia. If you are looking for a genealogical history of the Thomas Flint Family of Salem. I would suggest looking at the web site of the Higginson Book Company and search the genealogical reference works they have available under "Flint". I live in Salem and the Higginson books are available in our public library. As a shortcut, you're welcome to view my "Flint Family" tree (public tree). I can vouch for it's accuracy.
I have lived in WI my whole life. My maiden name was Flint (Monica), my father was Michael Mason Flint (died Dec. 1997, lived in San Franciso, CA)and my grand-father was Willard F Flint (died April 2001, lived in Waukesha, WI). I don't know much about the ancestry of the family except my dad's sister is Stephanie (Stevie Flint) Kimmerling and his mother was Hazel, which both resided in Seattle,WA and my aunt still does. My grandfather later remarried to my grandma Carol.
The only other thing I do know but my grandfather distanced himself from family was that his second cousin was Joyce Flint (which she was Jeffrey Dahmer's mother...no wonder why my grandfather distanced himself from family! They were odd as he said.) If any of these names sound familiar and you can let me know of any other family info...please share. Cuz I don't know much because nobody ever wanted to talk about family on my dads side.....

Thank you Patty. I'll give an email try. I called the only Dan Flint's a few months back that I found listed in the CA white pages, and have a sense that one of them may have been my cousin. Wherever he is, I fully understand if he doesn't want to make contact with family after all these years. However, if his reasons are becuase he'd feel funny about it after so long, I also want to let him know there's no reason to.I appreciate your help!
Judy

James Flint b.1815 in Wittering Northsnts is my gggrandfather. He married Elizabeth Rootham 16/10/1837 in Riseley. I am a direct descendent of his second son John b. 1845 d. 26/5/1920 in Beeston Nottingham. James & Elizabeth had another child Thomas b. 1853,and I think James b. 1858 who died 1859 aged 9 months. Elizabeth died in 1858 from I assume complications following the birth of James but I have yet to prove this aspect and have not yet applied for the death certificate of baby James.

Your post (and replies) have given me renewed hope that someone can help me. I've had more success with the Flint side. I'll check Samuel Davis, most likely Casiah's brother?? Any other hints would be helpful. Thank you, Linda

He has a sister named Connie and one named Kitty. My mama remembers calling his mama grandma Merritt.

Elizabeth Flint is my GGGrandmother. Her birthdate, found in the family Bible of Nancy Seamon-Clickman, of 7 May 1815 matches the birthdate of Elizabeth Flint, daughter of Jacob & Betsy Flint found in "Records of Births and Baptism, 1797-1827 Rev. Daniel Nash". I'm having a difficult time reconciling Jacob's wife Betsy with Jacob's other wife, Catherine Marshall who died in 1820. I've noticed there are other Jacob Flints in and around Cherry Valley, New York at this time. Help?
Mary, You can get to a copy of the Genealogical Register of the Descendants of Thomas Flint via Google. simply go to the Google home page. click on 'more' then books, search on "Descendants of Thomas Flint" and you'll be able to find it, you can either read it on-line or by going to on-demand books get a reprint fairly inexpensively.

I have found Google books a great way to find a lot of old books and where to either read them or get copies. I you really want originals, selecting ABEBOOKS will get you to books which include both reprints and more expensive original copies.

Hi Gwen,
I hope this is still a good E-Mail address. My name is Mary Flint Forster and I come from upstate New York in the Adirondacks. I have been looking for years for your book with no luck so I'm hoping to connect with you and that you still have books to sell. I've been working on the Flint family Genealogy for many years and I hope that your book can help me confirm my lineage. I can go back to a Jonathan Flint born in 1807 at Schroon Lake, Essex Co, New York, but I am unable to find his parents names. I hope that you may have some info on this. Even if you have some info I still would really like to buy your book. Do you have any info on " A Genealogical Register of the Descendants of Thomas Flint by Stone and Flint from 1860 "?

Look forward to hearing from you. Mary
