Flint info compiled in 1940

I have a family history compiled in 1940 by a Flint descendent that I'd be happy to share. The woman that compiled it actually did the travel required and it is mostly complete. Here is the line:
Thomas
Joseph b 1662
Nathaniel b 1688
Nathaniel Jr. b 1720
Jonathan b 1755
Aseryl b 1785
Aseryl Jr. b 1807
All of Aseryl's 13 children and their children plus info on the offspring of Aseryl's youngest daughter Emma
I've had this info for about 15 years but just recently got the genealogy bug and more recently typed it all into emailable form.

He had a son named Benjamin Franklin Flint, who had a daughter, Fredonia (who was my great grandmother). Any additional additional information would be very much appreciated!

Thanks!

I am just beginning to research my Flint family.
My grandfather was Eugene W Flint. His father was Charles A Flint born approx 1883, His mother Minnie/Mary Johnson born about 1885.

I have found 1910 census that lists Eugene, age 1, and sister Virginia A., age 3. Brother Robert was born after this census. Mother in law Mary Johnson is living with them.

Have not been able to locate 1900 or earlier census. Trying to find Charles parents names.

Are these familiar to anyone?

Please e-mail at patt32@aol.com.

Thanks, Pat
Thomas Flint – 1500s - 1600s
I have been tracing a FLINT family which was settled in Scotland (Dumfriesshire) in the 19th century. They migrated to Scotland (Lanarkshire) in the late 1600s/early 1700s from Westmorland.
My interest is in where they originally came from. A biography of one of the descendants mentions the Buxton area but this is pure speculation.
Has anyone researching Flints in Derbyshire 'misplaced' a family circa 1597?
Thomas and Robert are names which run through to the 19th century and 2 occupations which dominate are stonemasons and shepherds.
Hoping that someone might be able to point me in the right direction
Pat

Looking for family of Gideon Flint

I am looking for information on my gg grandfather Gideon FLINT (occasionally spelled FLYNT). He was born 4 Jul [some records say Jan] 1811, place and parents unknown. He married Harriette THOMAS 12 Mar 1834 in Monroe County, MS. She was the daughter of George Richard THOMAS and Syntha RICHARDSON. Gideon and Harriette had eight children, among them Dr. Abijah B. FLINT (a prominent Civil War surgeon), Sirena FLINT, and my great grandmother, Parthenia FLINT.
Gideon has been one of my huge brick walls. He seems to have appeared from nowhere although I have found a Gideon FLINT in Connecticut who (by his birth and death dates) could have been my Gideon's father. Unfortunately, they didn't list spouse or children's names at that time. Gideon was shot and killed in the Sabine River in Texas in March 1847. All of the information I have about him leads me to believe he was quite a scoundrel, but since he's my gg grandfather, I'll take him as he was. Makes my family all the more interesting.
The 1870 census shows Jerusha Flint Courtright living with her husband Samuel Courtright in Benton County, Indiana. Other Flints are listed: Ann, John, Austin (probably siblings) and Margaret (probably mother). I assume Jerusha is related to them. Jerusha is either from New York or New Jersey, so the family may have moved from there to settle in Indiana.

Sarah Ann Flint married William D. Courtright in Kankakee, Illinois in 1865. This must be Samuel Courtright's brother, because he married Jerusha also in Kankakee in 1861. Two brothers marrying two sisters, perhaps?

Are ANY of these names in your family tree? Please contact me: jmoose@freeler.nl
Jerusha Flint is my gg-grandmother and this is all the information I have. Hope to hear from someone!

Walter Flint m. Evelyn Yates; lived in Osakis, Minnesota

I found a Gallagher family tree on Ancestry.com, a family that would be part of my extended family on it. Unfortunately, the author is unknown. I have spoken with someone at Ancestry, and it is possible this information was donated when the early CD's for World Family Tree Maker came out. I would really like to touch base with someone from this family, which traces back to a John and Bridget Gallagher of Glanworth parish in County Cork. Their son, Edmond Gallagher, born c1819 married Catherine Casey c1840, in Ireland. Families who descend from this branch include Bonfield, Condurso, Carroll, Yates, Flint, Flynn, Stanley, McCarry, Griekshot, and Spencer. William and Catherine had a daughter, Evelyn Yates, who married Walter Flint, and a son Chester Yates, born about 1890. Evelyn and Walter had a daughter who married Charles Flynn.

Edmond’s brother, Daniel Gallagher, born c1821, m. Bridget O’Keefe in Boston. He moved with his brother to Clyman, Wisconsin. He is the ancestor of families with the name Withee, Ringley, Buchanan, Fowler, Smith, Kneebs, Lynch, Olmstead, Steece, Sonnkalb, Warren, Gross, Peterson, and Klinger.

Bridget Gallagher married David Horgan. Names associated with this family are Brockway, Lathrop, McKelsey, McIntosh, Prock, Bennett, Petrusha, McCormick, Snyder, Nimmer, Maus, Glisch, and Euhler.

Other Gallagher siblings included Margaret Gallagher c1826, married David Kelleher in Boston; Bridget Gallagher c1832; and Mary J. Gallagher c1838.

I would really like to connect with someone from this family.
Looking for info on Alvin Flint (b. Braintree, Vermont) and Sarah Van Valin Flint (b. Poughkeepsie area, New York). Especially interested in death info. Alvin was at one time the mayor of Nashua, Iowa. They married probably in the early 1840s in Wisconsin where Alvin was a member of the Legislature. Don't believe they had children of their own but Van Valin nieces (named Clark and Turner) lived with them at various times.

Henry Francois Flint, b.May 1881 MA, son of Charles F./Jennie E. Flint, lived Worcester Co., MA & Detroit

I have an original postcard photograph of “Henry Francois Flint”, a full length picture, which I would like to get back to family members. Photo was taken in about 1915, probably in Detroit, and he looks to be about age 35.

I found Henry Francois Flint in the WWI Draft Registration, showing he lived in Detroit, his birthdate May 4, 1881, his wife Matilda E. Flint and he was an adjustor for Tulls Envelope Co. (signed on 12 Sept 1918). In 1930 census, Henry & Mathilde are listed with son Edwin H., and his mother Jennie E., a widow, age 80, born in Maine. In the 1880 census, I found Jennie E. Flint, age 30, born ME, living in Worcester (Worcester Co.) MA with husband Charles F. Flint, and son, age 4, Charles J. Flint – so this is the same Jennie.

Email me at margerice@prodigy.net if you are related to Henry F. Flint.

Indian Flints

In my family I always heard we were Cherokke, but later found out we were from the Shawnee tribe. I have a pic. of an indian woman it says (handwritten in pencil) Mr. Flints own mother. It is a B/W pic ,woman wearing dark clothing, with dark braids in her hair. The pic itself is sepia tones like a cardboard material. My father has the picture.
I would like to find out how I can be sure we have an indian heritage, but this has been very difficult. Any advice would be very much appricated. Thanks, ~Suzanne Flint-Youn~ :)

Robert Alonza Flint

Can anyone help me to find our missing Robert Alonza Flint DOB circa 1862? Robert's said to have disappeared soon after his family was born. Robert would have been 34 in 1895. He did not return to Wisconsin after a year or two in No. Minn. where he went with one of his brothers, Lewis Benjamin Flint, to file on a land claim. He left there about 1880.

Robert married Cora J Smith November 8, 1881 in Dunn County, Wisconsin and they had 3 children; Alonza, Alonzo, Lonnie; Benjamin and Lewis. Cora and the children all disappeared as well after Robert didn't return home. She could have remarried and moved away. But, my ggmpa, Andrew Delos Flint, worried about his lost brother until he died in 1917 at age 67. I'd sure like to find this missing family.

WILL ANYONE READING this page please let us know if they have any information on this man and his family?
